She's #2 on the midweeks with over 11,500 copies so far. She is 1300 copies behind #1 which is Kneecap (great band!) This was just shared on Spice Circle. Good pre-orders and initial opening numbers. Let's hope she continues to build over the week. I can see a #3 or #4 for her!!

That's my main gripe here too. Sweat and the follow up singles all lend themselves well to major playlists from Spotify but seemingly nothing was done to that effort. Record Labels have to submit them for playlists.... If it was submitted, it didn't get picked up by the streaming platforms which is another possibility. Hopefully it gets sindicated for gym playlists at least in the UK, it makes sense.

Now all they need is an Emma and a Gerita on stage at Wembley and the world would be back to normal again. Imagine... Flowers would bloom and deserts would see a revival of green pastures again. The ice in Antartica would go back to normal. Climate change would reverse and we would be safe! Our skins would clear and our dicks would be blown whenever we needed it. Trump and his supporters would die. Democrats all over the world would finally embrace communism and world hunger and homelessness would end. TERFs would realise they were being nazis all along. Nazis would cry and throw themselves in the river. So we would be free of nazis and terfs in one go! Gerita would wear colours again and appologise for supporting the neo-nazis in the Tories. Yeah it feels somewhat wrong that albums like northern Star, Schizo and Free me, which had success and impact didnt do as well as people think they did. Bless them though, they were fighting an upheal battle. By 1999 the press was totally against them and they were seen as jokes so the solo projects were successful dispite that, which is in itself an achievement. All things considered, they did well. Solo girlband artists don't usually do as well in the UK, bar Cheryl I guess, and Mel C and Geri. Melanie has proven it is possible to keep going and thats kudos to her!!

It's actually quite strange since the singles are so gym-playlisting driven but seemingly no big/official playlists picked them up?... And yeah she has been performing and promoting everywhere, but it is not really translating to streams outside of her usual fanbase.

The Spotify streaming numbers are now available and they are so so low... Most tracks between 9,000 - 14,000 streams only. Drum Machine has 76,000 because it is the focus track of course. Still very low... I still think that she can do Top5 but she will struggle without better streaming this week. Pretty sure she did better streaming numbers during her last album.

that sounds like an excuse tbh lol it's just on the vinyls apparently, though it is on all vinyl editions. They mainly use the same design across all editions (apart from the cover on a couple) so it is most probably a clear mistake that got overlooked

I think there could be a good song in there, but it doesnt work at all for me. Maybe cos it is trying to be a Robyn-song and she sounds awkward in it? Klas definitely gave her the scraps from an old Robyn album, cos thats what it sounds like... Her other songs with Klas work much better imo. I just heard it again to see if I could find a way in to the song but got the same 'meh' and frustration from it. In all honestly, the way she sings the title in the post-chorus annoys me too much, and she repeats it throughout the whole f***ing song lollol. It's too clunky and awkward, doesn't work for me at all. And the middle-break? Terrible...

No I understand this, but it is just the same fans buying everything and personally I think the industry needs to find other ways rather than constantly scamming the fans. What good does it do to anyone to have 15copies of the same album in week 1? Nothing. It's just exploitation... There's a big difference between this and the collectors' approach. Like, release new versions over time, but the whole massive variants game is makes me sick to my stomach. I don't blame the fans. I also fell for it during the Spice25 campaign which I now regret buying all at once...

I'm going to be very quiet on the overabundance of variants for this era... it's not a great look
