Funnily enough, reading your comments made me think that actually if there is a three-piece that could work, it would be the current one with the two Mels and Emma. The most talented and hard working/committed members are all there, including the 'big personality' (Mel B) as well. I seriously doubt they would, specially as seeing that Geri and Victoria are both terribly missed and important, but if there is a COMMITTED line up, this would be it! Alas.......... both Mel C and Emma are expected to release solo projects soon again, so the focus will go on that first I think....

I did not spew any hatred. I am frustrated and agree with Mel B that it is frustrating for Geri and Victoria to not want to tour or make new music. But it is not as simple as 'the others can go and do their thing' right? We know that Mel B isnt necessarily a hot topic for a solo career in music. That ship has sailed after two major flop albums (one of which was #400-something in the UK) and decades of being away from the music industry. Plus, racism in the UK music landscape. Black women are never a priority, let alone a 50-year old black woman popstar. If Emma Bunton can barely do a new album, Mel B has no chance. It's group or nothing for Mel's performance opportunities. And then, about the two Mels and Emma going on tour together as Spice Girls, the press will have a filled day, specially after the bomb that was GEM in the first place. The press and industry are sexist as f***. Take That can do it because they are boring plank-woods of interchangable men. The Spice Girls are not that, they are about a group of individual and different women coming together. I doubt they would have many offers/opportunities without Geri attached. I get it, it's sad that Geri is the one blocking these initiatives. But that is reality. It's ok for Mel B to be frustrated and so are we all. Specially when the suggestion is that all the possibilities have been squandered.

Spice Girls - 'Forever'
Another Youtuber documentary charting the whole process since Geri's departure up to the release of Forever and the end of the group in 2000: OeEmvub_ee8 It is not bad even though some innacuracies are put forward (Let Love Lead The Way is mentioned as a #11 charting single  I think they confused it with Headlines lol)

Geri Halliwell - 'Schizophonic'
From PopJustice: That was applied for and immediately denied. It was never approved – I just mentioned it because fans had been begging Warner/Parlophone to do something with it and were frustrated. I felt they should know that it was Geri, not the label, keeping a reissue from happening. We put together a whole presentation for the project: A clamshell 5-CD box with the B-sides and tons of remixes, including many that were vinyl- or promo-only. Also, two cassette variants ('Angelic White' and 'Devilish Red' with their respective covers), a split Angelic White/Devilish Red vinyl with a reversible gatefold, two t-shirts, and a sticker sheet..

Personally, I hope Mel B one day comes out and spills it all, since the group as a whole is getting the blame for the lack of any releases/touring/etc whereas it seems only Geri is the one blocking anything. I could understand not touring, though I am sad about it. That's different, as it requires a lot of time/investment in something she probably doesnt want to do anymore. But to actually go out of her way to get everything Spice-related blocked??? Including the inclusion of Wannabe in a documentary? WHY? It is coming across mean-spirited at this point...

I do. Sammy actually put it really well in Spice Circle: We all know Geri is the one holding anything back and has been for the last 4 years now. It has nothing to do with Mel B it is that being a Spice Girl and dancing on stage, wearing colour doesn't fit with her Lady of the manor image now. Mel B's jibes are just frustration at knowing Geri is putting on one big act but in term has basically ruined the last few years of the Spice Girls being a viable touring band. It has all been for what? To flog kids books to desperate Spice Girls fans who live in 1997 and don't want to admit the Geri of 2024 is the opposite of the one they fell in love with and to be the prim and proper woman her cheating husband and his family want. The constantly cancellation of plans since 2019 must be incredibly frustrating and grating not just for the three girls who want to do it - Emma, Mel C and Mel B - but also for the industry and their team. If I was on thier team, I would be f***ing frustrated as well. This is why we don't have proper visibility of their music like most other acts of their status have. If the band is not doing anything nor is interested and keep cancelling plans, then the teams and record lables (and tour promoters) move on as well... As far as we know, at least twice tours were being planned but got cancelled since the stadium tour in 2019. Once because Geri didnt want to do it, and again because of the pandemic. Then there has been confirmations of documentaries and potential tours/conversations but it all gets squandered because Geri is focused on her new image and writing. We also know that she has been the one blocking re-releases in celebration of her own music . It's wild. She seems really against being seen as a Spice Girl/music act right now, unless she can sell her books to the fans. It's only fair the fans themselves get frustrated. Many fans got frustrated with Victoria too, and still are. But as far as we know, Victoria has not blocked any Spice-related project/release even though she has the right to do so. There are also statements about how she blocked the inclusion of Wannabe in a new documentary on porn/lad culture. All the other girls approved it, but Geri blocked it. Why? She literally profits from it and doesnt have to do anything about it/any work for it. Why block something that is related to even the message of girl power? It is her perogative, but as fans we don't have to be happy that she is not doing Spice-projects. I am certainly not. Mel B just vents her frustrations out loud, and I totally believe her and agree with her. Bless her heart, she is if anything totally committed and interested, and knows the world is up for a tour at least. IMAGINE seeing the potential a world tour of the Spice Girls has, in the era where tours are massive and more profitable than ever, and seeing it all be wasted because of this. I would be f***ing pissed off too to be honest.

Not linking to the fascist Sun newspaper, but this has been making the rounds... It feels like a very planted story, or completely made up crap (probably this!) ALL OFF Spice Girls reunion dates ‘axed’ after rumours of ‘feud’ between Mel B and Geri THE planned Spice Girls reunion has reportedly been 'axed' after Geri Horner allegedly 'pulled the plug' on a potential tour. This comes amid rumours of a fresh feud with Mel B, 49, after her bandmate posted a 'jibe' on her birthday. The Spice Girls had reportedly been in discussions about a fresh set of gig dates. Rumours suggested the band had even made contact with Victoria Beckham, 50, - who was not a part of the 2019 Spice World Tour - for a potential cameo appearance. But an insider has told Mail Online that, following an alleged rift once again developing between Mel B and Geri, 51, the pop star turned children's book author is said to have walked away from any future projects completely. A source told The Mail: "Geri has had enough to deal with after all the drama with her husband's relationship with his assistant - it has been a tough enough time - and she's just lost patience with Mel and her little digs and jibes. "She's walked away and without Geri it's really not going to happen - in the past she's been a driving force in the group, but she doesn't want to deal with Mel at all at the moment let alone share a stage with her." The Sun has contacted a rep for Geri for comment. The duo used to be close, and Mel even hinted that the duo previously engaged in a casual brief fling together in their heyday. However, a fresh spat has apparently driven a wedge between the members of the girlband.

I Turn To You and Out Of Your Mind
The original I Turn To You is one of Mel's best songs and one of the best solo-Spice songs... However, I never quite enjoyed I Turn To You single version as it was too pandering to the whole Ibiza-style of music at the time (matched with an Ibiza-focused video lol)... Not my vibe at all. Out of You Mind was cute, it was fun seeing Vic going solo. Both songs are dated as hell though -_-

Oh really??? :teresa: Please tell! Is the Song of Her/Man on the Mountain leak the reason they fell out? I thought it was because of the 1999 tracks

Spice Girls - Chart Runs & Sales Thread: UK
Lolol spreading some disinformation hun :teresa: The story goes (from Elliott himself) that someone called pretending to be Simon Fuller's office and told him that they were looking at getting the songs together for a new release. So Elliott sent them to that person, who then sold them and then they got leaked... It is also the reason why the girls and their team seemingly fell out with Elliott and why he wasnt involved with them during the Spice25 or Spiceworld25 eras either. Elliott didnt also work on Spiceworld era either, and then went on to bitch about Darkchild producing most of the Forever album and the mix of Right Back At Ya that ended up on the album... It's a sad story

I think pre-late 2000s, any of them would have done fairly well if they released good music/singles to be honest... But by summer the public was already a bit fatigued (and Victoria's incessant promo tour for OOYM did also play into that!) Also OOYM was not a Victoria Beckham single, it was a Trusteppers single with Victoria and Dane as guests/featured artists, and it was coming off the back of their previous single with Dane, Buggin, that was super successful as well. So I am not sure a solo Victoria Beckham album was ever going to be super successful on the level of Geri and Melanie C. She never had the credibility or the public/press-backing for that to happen, sadly...

Thank you Jay!! Amazing numbers, and I would hope that maybe Stop and Spice Up your Life, both of which went viral last year, did pick up a bit more then so they might even be a bit higher?... Amazing numbers for Stop! What a classic :cheer: Goodbye and Viva Forever to go over 1million ASAP PLEASE!! Absolutely WILD to me that Holler isnt even on Gold status!!! Bloody fascist England :teresa: They have no taste at all. Holler should be well over 1million by now

It going Diamond would certainly bring it a lot of attention, so it is a shame that this would not be announced any time soon... If they go on tour or release that documentary, I can see it being added to the marketing promo that it is a diamond-selling album!

Oh interesting, and that it is such a specific number too! The last update was 8million right? I doubt that it sold 2million in the last couple of years in USA so this is a big jump that would be good to know more about If there is any certification/update, then I bet the record lable will wait until we have any group activity - so problably never lol

Mel C was a total bitch from 2000 onwards up until the announcement of the reunion. Fine to be against the whole 'industry' side of things and how it affected her. But she straight up went against the girls themselves, which is what I dont really get. She went back to the group, TWICE, as soon as her solo work dried up. Victoria probably moved on eventually after years of neglect from Mel C about the group, and the industry being so against her solo work. So she moved on, and you can understand that to be honest. Geri was at least given a chance. Victoria's solo projects were pretty much done as soon as the group disbanded in late 2000.

Yeah, and before that she mentioned that she had quite a bad day at work and that 'there's always next year', which one can asume is Spice-related based on her comments afterwards. I think they probably had a business meeting with the girls and it all went south again, proving that nothing will be done this year. It does also confirm that Geri is not up for touring, but what I dont get is the denying the group from doing other things like the documentary or other venures?... I really dont get this and it f***ing sucks. Bless Mel, she is clearly really frustrated. And so are we as fans.

Emma Bunton • General Discussion
Emma has a bit of a tax evasion scandal going on apparently  https://www.msn.com/en-ie/entertainment/mus...age/ar-BB1qrtmQ Also, I thought they got paid more than 4million for the tour? Might just be the money that she put in her company, outside of the money she paid herself from the tour. The perverse side of this (beyond Emma not wanting to pay her tax!!) is that it is usually when some of them need the money that they do go on tour :teresa: It happened in 2019 when Mel C and Mel B both had money issues, and in 2007 when all of their solo projects had dried up... :teresa:

Oh thank you! Just seeing that for the first time, dont think I ever watched it before either. Yeah Victoria seems pretty candid, and a bit pissed off about how it all ended, and she is right in saying that they shouldnt have ended it the way they did. And she is very right about also people needing to recognise that the Spice Girls were amazing and everything they achieved needed celebrating. Good for her for standing her ground, she has always been nothing but positive about the group and the girls. They were pretty much seen as a laughing stock back in 2003, which is sad and also sadly Mel C also played to it a bit which only made her look worse.
