  1. The original I Turn To You is one of Mel's best songs and one of the best solo-Spice songs... However, I never quite enjoyed I Turn To You single version as it was too pandering to the whole Ibiza-style of music at the time (matched with an Ibiza-focused video lol)... Not my vibe at all. Out of You Mind was cute, it was fun seeing Vic going solo. Both songs are dated as hell though -_-
  2. Which ones do you mean? There were huge amounts of different ones lol
  3. WAIT why dont I know any of this???? :teresa: I wanna know the tea
  4. Oh really??? :teresa: Please tell! Is the Song of Her/Man on the Mountain leak the reason they fell out? I thought it was because of the 1999 tracks
  5. Lolol spreading some disinformation hun :teresa: The story goes (from Elliott himself) that someone called pretending to be Simon Fuller's office and told him that they were looking at getting the songs together for a new release. So Elliott sent them to that person, who then sold them and then they got leaked... It is also the reason why the girls and their team seemingly fell out with Elliott and why he wasnt involved with them during the Spice25 or Spiceworld25 eras either. Elliott didnt also work on Spiceworld era either, and then went on to bitch about Darkchild producing most of the Forever album and the mix of Right Back At Ya that ended up on the album... It's a sad story
  6. I think pre-late 2000s, any of them would have done fairly well if they released good music/singles to be honest... But by summer the public was already a bit fatigued (and Victoria's incessant promo tour for OOYM did also play into that!) Also OOYM was not a Victoria Beckham single, it was a Trusteppers single with Victoria and Dane as guests/featured artists, and it was coming off the back of their previous single with Dane, Buggin, that was super successful as well. So I am not sure a solo Victoria Beckham album was ever going to be super successful on the level of Geri and Melanie C. She never had the credibility or the public/press-backing for that to happen, sadly...
  7. Thank you Jay!! Amazing numbers, and I would hope that maybe Stop and Spice Up your Life, both of which went viral last year, did pick up a bit more then so they might even be a bit higher?... Amazing numbers for Stop! What a classic :cheer: Goodbye and Viva Forever to go over 1million ASAP PLEASE!! Absolutely WILD to me that Holler isnt even on Gold status!!! Bloody fascist England :teresa: They have no taste at all. Holler should be well over 1million by now
  8. Listen, I would do the same. Get me on Biff's radar asap!! :teresa:
  9. It going Diamond would certainly bring it a lot of attention, so it is a shame that this would not be announced any time soon... If they go on tour or release that documentary, I can see it being added to the marketing promo that it is a diamond-selling album!
  10. No problem my hun  yeah would love some guestimations when you have a moment ehe B-)
  11. Thank you!! Was it you who also had an insider who could find some detailed info on sales? :teresa:
  12. Oh interesting, and that it is such a specific number too! The last update was 8million right? I doubt that it sold 2million in the last couple of years in USA so this is a big jump that would be good to know more about If there is any certification/update, then I bet the record lable will wait until we have any group activity - so problably never lol
  13. Mel C was a total bitch from 2000 onwards up until the announcement of the reunion. Fine to be against the whole 'industry' side of things and how it affected her. But she straight up went against the girls themselves, which is what I dont really get. She went back to the group, TWICE, as soon as her solo work dried up. Victoria probably moved on eventually after years of neglect from Mel C about the group, and the industry being so against her solo work. So she moved on, and you can understand that to be honest. Geri was at least given a chance. Victoria's solo projects were pretty much done as soon as the group disbanded in late 2000.
  14. Yeah, and before that she mentioned that she had quite a bad day at work and that 'there's always next year', which one can asume is Spice-related based on her comments afterwards. I think they probably had a business meeting with the girls and it all went south again, proving that nothing will be done this year. It does also confirm that Geri is not up for touring, but what I dont get is the denying the group from doing other things like the documentary or other venures?... I really dont get this and it f***ing sucks. Bless Mel, she is clearly really frustrated. And so are we as fans.
  15. why the hell would you say something like this?
  16. Emma has a bit of a tax evasion scandal going on apparently  https://www.msn.com/en-ie/entertainment/mus...age/ar-BB1qrtmQ Also, I thought they got paid more than 4million for the tour? Might just be the money that she put in her company, outside of the money she paid herself from the tour. The perverse side of this (beyond Emma not wanting to pay her tax!!) is that it is usually when some of them need the money that they do go on tour :teresa: It happened in 2019 when Mel C and Mel B both had money issues, and in 2007 when all of their solo projects had dried up... :teresa:
  17. Oh thank you! Just seeing that for the first time, dont think I ever watched it before either. Yeah Victoria seems pretty candid, and a bit pissed off about how it all ended, and she is right in saying that they shouldnt have ended it the way they did. And she is very right about also people needing to recognise that the Spice Girls were amazing and everything they achieved needed celebrating. Good for her for standing her ground, she has always been nothing but positive about the group and the girls. They were pretty much seen as a laughing stock back in 2003, which is sad and also sadly Mel C also played to it a bit which only made her look worse.
  18. FMRCY9qMUPM This just popped onto my YouTube timeline... I hadnt seen most of these clips to be honest and it does shed some new light into the post-Forever era for me. Victoria, around 0:54 does seem pretty miffed that they all just 'fizzled off' from making music together. Bless her, she was genuinly up for Forever and more music even after she realised that Mel C wasnt up for it anymore hey?... You could tell that if Mel C had given it the green light, all of them would be back in the studio and on tour! Does anyone have that Parkinson interview? WOuld be good to know what she says before and after that clip Mel C was so so done... You can see how much she hated the group back then, which is sad because she was mostly against the public profiling and press, but she does trash the group a lot during that time. She really killed the group's chances of ever doing music again post 2000 by refusing to ever do it again... Bless her, we know why, but I will never not make me sad how pissed off she sounds when talking about the band itself from 2000-2007... Anyway, this made me a bit sad
  19. Really wish we could have some updates. The last one we had was in 2022 where it was at 826,500 in the UK... Since then, it got its 25th anniversary promo and the video has really picked up views quite nicelly on YouTube... If it breaks 850,000 sales soon would be amazing
  20. I would say that Viva Forever is one of their defining singles. It does really well on YouTube for instance, with some of the live performances of it having the biggest views of their career! The Return of the Spice Girls version is still my favourite version. The musical arrangement to the staging, it is all quite amazing and the defining moment of the Return tour! IziakYu0-4A The Live At Wembley 1998 video has 8million views  I think I played this moment in the VHS I had at the time more than any other lol ClIi556Bbss The Pavarotti & Friends version is all things iconic!! DuTE1vP3WWg Whilst probably the most simple one of all the tour versions, I do quite like the 2019 tour version specially because of the intro! QDLYRD5S8HE What is your favourite?
  21. Happy birthday to the greatest pop song of all time! What a tune
  22. Found the live TV performance of it as well, finally but it is on DailyMotion so cannot embed: Emma Bunton & Jade - "You're All I Need to Get By" - Bradley Walsh's Late Night Guestlist[/b] https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7831y9
  23. really? By the end of 2001, it was clear all solo projects were kind of dead in the water including Melanie's... There was a huge anti-Spice sentiment in both the industry and the press, and whilst Melanie did tour a lot, it seemed like she didnt really manage to retain her audience beyond her first album because that audience was mainly going to see her because she was a Spice Girl... Sure she managed to also get some audience of her own, but the core of it is Spice-fans. It has always been. Melanie's mistake was to trash the group and thus, ending her relationship with her main audience. It is not a surprise really that the solo works were successful (including Geri's) to the point where the Spice Girls were still seen as an active band. Once that chapter was firmly closed, so where the audiences to their solo works. Of course, some works post the disbanding of the group did manage to pull through in terms of genuine success (What Took You So Long, It's Raining Men, Free Me album) but overall it was all mostly dead in the water solo-wise. No longer able to thrive based on the Spice Girls-relation anymore, the solo girls were left to either have excellent music out so that the industry/press would somehow follow or not pester them with negativity (Free Me album), or do some tie-ins with big brands (Geri's with the movie, Mel C with the German and Portuguese soap operas...). Melanie's other issue was that she released a subpar album with really meandering singles that didnt connect. Here It Comes Again was a bit meh as a pop comeback. It still is one of her worst lead singles. On The Horizon, whilst obviously radio-friendly, was such a clear attempt to jump on the New Radical's sound that it fell flat. Let's Love could have at least been tied in with a TV commercial (like it was in East Asia!) as it sounds appropriate for that. As a lead single, it would have at least have more of a punch than Here It Comes Again. Plus, it is technically the better song! And yes, by 2003 any song on Reason wouldnt have gone much more unless it was tied to any sort of promo deal that would have enhanced its media presence. Sadly, she chose to go with HICA, and killed her mainstream career in the process...
  24. They actually do a lot for helping the artist establish themselves as a live act, and it is a thing of artistic merit to release one. So what if it doesnt set the charts on fire? It is about the body of work and would be most helpful. ONE THING that I just thought about this is that if they had released one back in 1998, they certainly would have had to do much more than their main hits and the odd album track from Spice or Spiceworld in any consequent tours. As a nostalgia act now, it certainly doesnt bode well for them to release one if they ever intend to do any more nostalgia driven tours... Otherwise, they would have to seriously re-think their set lists or release more music so that they provide something different to their standard of doing live shows without new music :arrr: They really put themselves into a corner with this nostalgia crap hey?....
  25. Randomly, Emma and Jade's cover of 'You're All I Need to Get By' came up on the radio this morning (I KNOW!) and actually been listening to it a bit B-) It is not a bad cover at all, just a bit pointless... But it did give us some nice live gems from them... Also, does anyone remember where they did a live performance in some random TV show? I cant find it at all anywwhere lol Official video 838pa_rjxFQ (wild that this video is YET to break 200k views  It is one of Bunton's best imo and a total upgrade from that awful Baby Please Don't Stop video...) And here are some live renditions of it that I think are cute: Live at Emma's Christmas show at the Royal Albert Hall LTUxrzIsKUA Accoustic Live at BBC Radio 2 zk1vXN5Gs3M
