  1. I Turn To You sounds like british tourists fighting in Magaluf and being handcuffed by Spanish police and detested by the locals 😇 So I voted for that trash. Worst successful Spice-related single ever, f*** me... I know you BuzzJack bitches will probably vote Emma out now, but that only shows how wrong you all are and how little taste you all are. I will go and listen to my A Girl Like Me on vinyl and be content that at least I now GREAT MUSIC!!!!
  2. I think the first part of the sentence makes sense as it is a matter of taste. But Holler's chances of long-lasting success was really damaged by the way it was released - with little promotion - and how it was received by the industry and press who were adamant they were finished. Had Holler been released in 1999, it would have probably sold much more as perceptions about the band were less violent. I think the proof of it is how it is received everytime they do it on tour - always a highlight - and the fact that it has gone viral a few times since the streaming era. But it gets played little attention by the record label and the girls themselves, whereas No Scrubs and Say My Name are the 'Wannabe' of TLC and Destiny's Child.
  3. dancing to HOLLER!! Forever25 confirmed 😝 https://www.instagram.com/p/DKW0Z14KEd6/
  4. Jesus, that's crazy that is is mostly down to more powerful playlisting.... I suppose the Netflix documentary also really helped... It is odd because No Scrubs is a huge song of course, but it does not feel as iconic and as successful as Wannabe, still today, at least to me...
  5. Absolutely agree with you both. I'm quite enraged at this lol If, one day, they get to do these awful avatars idea, they need a broader discography and need to be more present in people's minds. For that, they need to be out there as a group, and do more music, more touring. HELL, they don't even need to do extensive touring, they can do some musical events, like award shows, TV specials, etc. ANYTHING music related lol I can't believe a group like them only has 3 albums.... it's mind-boggling... Simon is a dinossaur and has been for a long time... Yes he gave them massive fame but he also did a lot of wrong for their legacy, with so much advertisement and relenteless schedules at the time, removing the focus from the music. This was also the guy who said that he would have done a TV show to find a replacement for Geri in 1998. He obviously has little idea on what he had on his hands, or at least he lost sight of it at some point down the line. Anyway, urgh... music or touring, or please just leave us alone lol
  6. Is this true? I couldnt find anything else online about it to confirm... It would mean that No Scrubs has definitely overtaken Wannabe as the best selling girl band single in the UK 😮‍💨
  7. We need a concerted way to get Geri on board for a tour at least. I have no idea how, but that will be the only thing worth doing if they want to get the millions they obviously want to be paid to do anything. It does piss me off that they didnt - and wont - even promote their own music re-releases... they still get millions everyyear from it, if they promoted or did more as a group, they would do even more! It's so frustrating...
  8. It's such a bad bad idea... And this was clearly planted by Simon and his team to see if there is any traction to it. Ive had a look and all comments everywhere seem very negative, so that should be a stop to this stupid idea. What Simon and the girls need to understand is that ANY project of theirs that doesn't involve the girls themselves being present and committed, FLOPS! They are not like ABBA, they are iconic and legendary but their legacy is based on THEM both as a group and individuals together being friends and present. That's it. Anytime they failed to not do promo (Forever, Headlines, even the GH) or not even perform themselves (like that awful Viva Forever musical), it flops. People want them, not avatars. That's why also that animated film that was announced failed to be made. People don't want made up crap, they want them. Go on tour - it will sell out. Do a re-release of their GH and ACTUALLY PROMOTE IT TOGETHER and it will sell. Do that documentary for Netflix with them included, turning up together to the launch? It will be watched! Try and be ABBA wannabes? It will flop, and rightly so.
  9. A true icon!
  10. The iconic Kesha has showcased a new mix of Wannabe. It's a BOP! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKHvw-ip9Xz/?igsh=cXduOXF4eXNtM3Zq
  11. You could try and sell them on Spice Marketplace on Facebook
  12. I thought Wannabe was multiplatinum in the US??? I just googled and it is stated around 4 to 3million and those were old stats...
  13. so more than 1/10th of what they claim to have sold overall across the world, and across their whole discography. As much as I often don't believe the 85million copies world wide claim, I sometimes look at these types of figures and just how massive most of their singles and albums were, and go 'well, yeah that makes sense lol'... Who knows...
  14. Stop messing about, you know ~some people in this forum~ will vote for Emma to leave after this. USE YOUR POWERS TO BAN THEM NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE
  15. Bye bye Gerita!
  16. That Disc 1 is what the original GH should be like, I would only add Move Over and Step To Me!
  17. The promotion around the GH launch was dreadful... not only the Headlines single was so mismanaged, but there was barely any promo from the girls themselves... I was shocked that even during the tour in the UK they didn't do any interviews, or barely anything... They were in America for rehealsals and there was this aura of 'we're in American now' so the UK public didn't really show up for them, which was so sad... It also pisses me off that they only ever promote Wannabe, whereas the rest of their singles were MASSIVE, to an extent that most acts haven't seen that level of success with other non-lead singles. YET they never tap into them. Both Stop and Viva Forever went viral during the Spiceworld25 campaigns, but they don't really tap into those either... I think they are also being dense when it comes to the GH selling now, since chart rules are so prohibitive when it comes to the main 2 sellers... Surely this should give them and the record label impetus for more focus on other songs as well.... Ultimately, if the group shows up, the music will sell. This is a lesson that they should have learned since the atrocious Forever campaign. YET, they have never done anything differently other than the bare minimal for their catalogue of iconic songs. I think even the rumours around the 30th anniversary are about 'Wannabe's 30th!'... and I'm like HELLO!!! You have so many other singles that will also turn 30th that people LOVE... Urgh...
  18. Jay has suggested it might well be over 800,000 copies, but probably not that close to triple platinum! It is sad that such a big GH sells so little... it very rarely is in the charts at all, sadly...
  19. Would be amazing to see how much their music has sold in a few markets... or at least overall sales? I think Wannabe and Spice were like 8million sales each in USA right? Any idea of sales in other countries? I think Goodbye was said to have sold like 2,5million worldwide back in 2000
  20. Thank you Jay! Hopefully around the end of the year when we +hopefully+ get a Forever25 release, we will get some updated numbers! I'd love love to know if: Spice has gone over 3,300,000 copies yet - making it 11xPlatinum How close is Spiceworld to 6xPlatinum and how close is Forever to 300,000 copies (jfc...) If Goodbye and Who Do you Think You Are are yet over 1million each??!! I would imagine that Goodbye is already over that and I hope they use that as a metric for the Forever25 campaign! And has Stop broken the 800,000 barrier and if Viva Forever has gone over 900,000? These two seemed to get a boost during the Spiceworld25 campaign so I wouldnt be surprised if its numbers have gone up a bit more than usual... I would also love to know if Greatest Hits is still selling well? It is still in print both in CD and Vinyl so I assume it's ticking on nicelly... I hope it is getting close to 3x platinum at least
  21. That's very generous of you!
  22. Seems like things are picking up stream with the Netflix drama about the Spice Girls. The Sun is reporting they seemingly have signed on the UK's most sought after screen-writer Jack Rooke to get the script going. That's massive news, Jack is a well regarded person and writer overall! hope it does go ahead, the article also seems very positive about a world tour for next year. Apparently the 2019 tour made £40million in profit, which is great after everything has been paid for, that's great extra money they pocketed. Let's hope things move ahead. The article is pasted below, but I aint linking to that fascist rag: SPICE IS RIGHT….ON TRACK Huge boost for Netflix’s troubled Spice Girls drama as streamer makes major backstage signing NETFLIX’S drama about the Spice Girls is back on track after the streaming giant signed one of Britain’s biggest TV writers to create a pilot. The troubled project has struggled to get off the ground after the bandmates were at daggers drawn through much of 2024. But with the prospect of a multi-million-pound world tour next year, they seemed to have magically smoothed things over. Now I can reveal that Jack Rooke, the comedian and creator of hit Channel 4 comedy Big Boys, is writing the script for the drama which next year will celebrate three decades since the group’s debut single, Wannabe. A TV insider said: “Bagging Jack is a real coup for the project and might be the crucial element that drives the drama forward after its rocky start. “He already has a relationship with Mel C, who’s a huge fan of his comedy Big Boys, and that could be the pivotal connection that takes things on to the next stage. Of course, Netflix has yet to confirm it has commissioned the show and there’s still a lot to play for. But there now seems to be a genuine will to make things happen. “No matter what Jack comes up with, it will be a loving and funny look at the band he grew up listening to in the Nineties and Noughties.” Since Big Boys launched three years ago, Jack has been nominated for a string of awards for the show and last year scooped a Bafta. He is now one of Britain’s most sought-after writers, with industry insiders speculating over what project he would take on since his semi-autobiographical comedy had its third and final outing this year. Last month he confirmed he was working on a pilot for Netflix adding it would have “some of the hallmarks of Big Boys, while perhaps leaning more on the drama-comedy”.
  23. Not releasing Breathing straight after Crickets was a real shame, actually ☹️ I feel it would have done really well towards the end of the summer and it kinda of sucks she didn't give the song a try!
  24. What Took You So Long better win this, or I will riot
  25. MI CHICO LATINO SUCKS! I'm voting for Gerita to be out OUT! You might kick I Want You Back out, but that means you have bad taste and you smell 🤬
