  1. I think it's kind of cute all her vinyls have been pink so far ah  If she ever did a Life in Mono vinyl, I could actually see her also doing a pink one too lol it goes with the vintage aesthetic I guess  But it's cute to have it pink, I don't dislike that. I would have loved a faded yellow one, with a couple of bonus tracks on it, but it is what it is I guess :teresa:
  2. It's popping up on Germany RSD too: https://www.recordstoredaygermany.de/exklus.../releases-2024/ And Netherlands too, so it is in Europe as well, but not in the USA Record Store Day list. Would be good to know how many copies it shifts
  3. Yeah just been announced: Record Store Day announcement and full list Listing: https://www.recordstoreday.co.uk/record/A%20Girl%20Like%20Me Not gonna lie, I am not THAT interested in this so wont get it. I want a Free Me and Life in Mono vinyl. Do we know how many copies will be available?
  4. I would make exceptions to the *two solo albums* I still listen to every now and then: Free Me and Life in Mono
  5. yeah I agree. It doesnt seem like it is an official band-endorsed venture. It feels like BME jumped on the '30 years of Spice' bandwaggon. Wasn't it supposed to be last year too, but then got delayed because of Eurovision being done in Liverpool? Anyway, it seems a bit meh so unless I definitely go to Liverpool, I probably wont make it along
  6. Well yes. That's what I meant. I want her to focus on her pop career more, and get a new pop-music focused team
  7. She needs a better management team, sorry. The Mutha Ship or whatever it is, has been great for Kit&Kin for sure, but hasnt been great for her solo career. She needs a new team!
  8. Yeah I agree. Even from posts we've seen over the last few years, that 'mum's shed' she talks about looked like a million pound-worth lol Love Mel B but even when she was 'bankrupt' that just might mean her 'business' was pennyless. SHE herself is not a working class or poor, come on... Even after the divorce before she moved to Leeds, she was living in a private condo in LA. Sure it wasnt a mansion like she was used to, but lets be honest here... Good for her that she finally has gotten back to the level she wanted/was used to though, for sure...
  9. She DID hint a 20th anniversary celebration when posting about the album in 2023's anniversary post. My hunch is that it all fell through somehow
  10. Right, for sure. A fan in the know on PopJustice did say he has a strategy/project on this which he will start on next week. Apparently Universal only hold the rights in the UK, not elsewhere, so this is the issue. A UK-only vinyl could have been done though, with international shipping. But oh well... Someone go to Simon Fuller's house and kick that man in the balls please for me? <_<
  11. Aparently this is quite terrible, from a few fan's posts on Spice Circle... I cant link the pictures here but it does look very low budget and 'this will do' type of thing... Displays: there was basically 3 display cabinets with outfits in, 1 set of dolls and a jigsaw (no mention of the 'sound experiences') Merch: black spice hoodie, 2 t shirts, wooden key ring, wooden coasters and a cartoon type print (all new apparently, but probably not 'Spice official' since they seemingly have had no input in the exhibition) Shame. Could have been much better!
  12. This would make sense but again, not hopeful
  13. Did he?... I don't remember this. I only remember a few posts from some magazine online and a few fans saying this, but not Chris I don't think... I am also definitely blaming her for this, sorry... It's too apparent that this is not just an issue with the label but also from her lack of interest/motivation
  14. It's just really baffling at this point... I don't really get why it is so hard to do anything for such an iconic album... Will Young was also with 19 for a while and he seems to be able to use his catalogue from that era, so I dont get why this is such an issue with Emma, other than her own team not moving or not having moved back then to secure her rights to use the material... The only way I can see her getting out of this is by buying her own masters and getting a new team to re-focus her career. She's in a really tough spot career wise, sadly, after so many years of neglect of her own catalogue and not touring. But I don't see this changing anytime soon...
  15. :mansoncheer: I had kept my expectations low but a damn... a low-quality home made video from a dark room saying 'thanks' is a new low I wasnt expecting lol
  16. What the hell are you talking about this 'academic' thing? Honestly with you I can never tell if you're being honest or making up shit. Please be kind. Whatever your opinion on Geri's impact on the Spice Girls, she is going through some very sad personal problems. Let's keep it respectful please.
  17. I'd be very careful with speculation on this, specially when there is serious allegations involved. Lets wait for confirmations. We do not know how this is affecting Geri, which I would hope is the main person we are worried about in this SPice-related forum. Speculating about this and how it might or not impact her relationship with the others, is wrong and would do no favours to her, or the victim of this story (the person levelling the allegations towards Christian). I would say however, that I've never been a fan of him. He is not well liked at all in the Sports world, and is known as a bit of a prick.
  18. I'm trying to keep my expectations low, unfortunately... With the Spice Girls, I have learnt over the years to not expect anything, even the 'unexpected' Knowing la Bunton, if we get as much as a vinyl or even Free Me to be available on international streaming, I call that a win. If we get more, like a CD or a one-off gig, then that would be brilliant. In reality, we will probably get an instagram post and she will thank us all for support over the years. But she will be back at posting about her dog as soon as that is over.
  19. I'm sorry to you all, but I just can't get excited about any more Mel C music or DJ set Group or nada, so I guess it's nada
  20. Seems like they only unfollowed each other, not actually blocked... let's see what happens over the next few weeks then
  21. Being a Spice fan is the most frustrating thing ever, honestly.... :cheeseblock: They could have the world on their hands, but yet...
  22. It was semi-independent, a three-way deal between her, 19 Management and Polydor (Universal). Meaning, she would create the music, paid by 19 Records, and would then get distributed by Polydor. So she would have creative freedom, supported and managed by 19. Then the record label would promote it, but not get involved in the making of the music.
  23. Good, insightful podcast on Free Me by the excellent pop music podcast Right Back At Ya! They call it the very best solo Spice album too :cheer: :teresa: They also discuss the semi-independent release deal they did for the album with 19 Records and Universal https://open.spotify.com/episode/1WCg7nDL6R...4078cad70f34195
  24. Let's be honest here, the Spice Girls continue to be a hot topic whatever they do as a group. People do care whenever they do or announce anything. If they were to tour or release new music, they would definitely have the world watching/listening/attending. The fact they might be 'over' is only their own doing. THEY keep falling out or not being interested. The public and the press have not been as Spice-friendly since 1998.
