  1. I guess they would have to be featured prominently and in a pretty central scene in a big movie. Murder on the Dance Floor is the main final scene of the Saltburn movie and the song plays in full! Spice Up Your Life is in Barbie for like 10seconds and it doesnt even feature in the soundtrack of the movie... Doctor Who is a bit nieche too, maybe?
  2. Viva Forever, Stop and Spice Up Your Life, personally, could fit well in a movie or TV show and remind people of the classics they are!
  3. Oh im glad to hear that as was considering getting one for a friend, so will avoid
  4. I'd love it if your optimism about a future tour turns out to be the reality but this is the Spice Girls we're talking about sammy... even if they get to be super hot property again, I bet one of them (Geri) will want to do something else instead and it will all fall apart again... :teresa: Doubt Emma will have a Christmas single out... there was nothing this year from her at all, and she was talking about booking venues. Plus, she is not particularly known for being a 'Christmas stapple'... she tried, bless her. but I would rather she do something else. She's a good writer for music, she could try and write more for other artists. Geri's second book is confirmed for this year <_<
  5. Geri is a total boomer grandma isn't she? :teresa:
  6. Happy Birthday Baby Bunton!! Geri's main image though :manson: Like, did she not have a better quality picture? It looks like it she just downloaded a thumbnail from a quick google image search :smoke:
  7. So... here we are again at the beginning of a new year in Spice World :yahoo: Gather around girlies and let's get annalysing and predicting what might happen and what we can forget about in year of Our Lord Baby Spice 2024 :teresa: Last year was a bit forgettable in Spice World, with mostly Mel C being active in music, Bunton taking care of her nappy business, Mel B doing bits and bobs on TV and Gerita going into children's books again. For the group though, it was not necessarily a let down as we weren't really expecting much but damn :nocheer: But that is by the by! We start the year with some indications that a potential group project, with all 5 Spice Girls involved for once, is going to be announced soon. Those are not just rumours though, as Mel B has mentioned it as confirmed and about to be announced and Mel C and Emma also dropping hints of something to come. Even Geri has mentioned she would be up to do 'something' and was up for the idea of a Glastonbury and group celebration... So what is it?? May we have the privilege to DARE expect anything, after so many years of wanting and be promised? Mel B said is was going to be 'the gift that keeps on giving' this year!! SPICE GIRLS The year started off great in the form of the Spice Girls announcing a partnership with Royal Mail for a high-quality and reputable series collection of stamps! Then, the British Music Experience museum announced a major retrospective of the group's career, to boot! Both are being labelled as a celebration of their 30years in the business, and it seems like this is the big marketing for this year. More celebrations! Then Mel C invited Emma for a new live rendition of Viva Forever and later the Appleton sisters for a group rendition of 2 Become 1. So far, not bad! It is shapping up to be an important year for the band. Mel B even said it will be 'the gift that keeps on giving' So as far as we know ALL FIVE of the Spice Girls are apparently doing something together. We know a documentary is in the works by a successful Hollywood team, and it has been shopped around, with various confirmations that is being made. We expect them to announce it soon. Beyond that and more merchandise, I don't see anything in the vein of a tour or music (even a Greatest Hits) being announced anytime soon, sadly... Could we expect something else from them? And what do you want the document to be like? MELANIE C Melanie has been in and out of the studio for the past few months, and seems to be gearing up for a new record or at least a single. She will be doing some live shows here and there too as she keeps doing the rounds. I would expect some more summer shows to be announced soon. Plus, this is the year her Northern Star album turns 25years old. After a couple of re-releases on vinyl these past couple of years, what do you think we can expect for the iconic album's celebrations? EMMA BUNTON There are some rumours that a Free Me re-release for the stunning, iconic, legandary, gay-rights album on vinyl next month to celebrate it's 20th anniversary. This would break the Spice World fandom really! hell, they might even put the album on international streaming platforms :teresa: Not expecting much more from Emma beyond that to be honest. I'd love her to do more music but.... Probably more nappies?... :arrr: GERITA Book #2 from her Rosie Frost series is to be released in the autumn. Can we expect anything else?... MEL B Probably more TV work, interviews/actions for Women's Aid and some adverts? I can't imagine much more from her, sadly... VICKY BEX IS THIS THE YEAR VICKY WILL FINALLY BE BACK IN THE GROUP??? Obviously don't ever expect her to be back with a mic to sing on a stage, but what do you see her doing this year beyond her fashion and beauty brands? Some more David butt pics on instagram?? :cheer:
  8. OK DAMN I forgot about this thread... yes I will open a new one  ready for another year of dissapointments in Spiceworld :teresa: And yes, the Mels did well. Mel C did touring again everywhere which is good for her, I guess... and Mel B is again back on US TV screens... Again, good for her... Gerita well... her book did well, got to #4 on a random, not the main one, New York Times bestselling list once but it didnt get anywhere else from what I understand. The promo made waves and she was everywhere for a hot minute, but I guess the book didnt really turn up on any lists either?... It kind of reeked of a Tory book though, with a bit of a lame monarchy-loving story attached to it, and Geri seemed incredibly 'up her own regal shit' than ever... Like good for her, I guess? I hope she is happy though, but it feels too random to celebrate this when if it wasnt for her, we could have easily gotten a new tour out of them or at least SOMETHING to focus on from the group... Poor Baby Bunton. It was a numb year for her on a professional music level... Lets hope the rumours of a Free Me re-release for her are true this year at the very least... Coming from a flop tour and no music releases, I guess she is in a really strange spot professionally... I have the feeling that no promoters or record labels would touch her for new music or touring solo, sadly... And the group... damn... at least we got Stop going viral and a new (and gorgeous!) Viva Forever lyric video which was the highlight of ANY Spice-related projects during 2023 for me... the constant release of more meandering bad quality merch did really start to sting properly this year though. The fans have been complaing a lot and many have started to refuse to buy anything, and good for them. At the same time, it seems like the world is READY for a Spice Girls tour or venture. Outside of pre-2019, there's never been more buzz for a reunion or Spice related activity! There are contant rumous about them and they do get quite far with a lot of press and social media attention which bodes well for any future reunions (even if frustrating for the fans!). I hope it properls them to actually do something worthwile!! Anyway I feel like 2023 was on par with 2002... Barely anything worthwhile throughout the year  Let's hope 2024 brings some positivity to Spice World!! We certainly need it and three of them are obviously up for it!!
  9. But the issue is that Jesy did not appologise and instead doubled down on it with a full on racist and promo campaign video where she not only was black fishing more than ever, but recreated a black-centered video with her white mates pretending to be 'taking over a whites-only house in suburban racist america'. Not only that, she then went on instagram live and proceeded to mock and belittle any criticism and her black ex-band mate in the process. She is still yet to appologise today. It's quite f***ed up when you think about it. And for Slayer - Ariana addressed the situation and appologised back when the backlash got to intense during the Thank You Next era, and has since changed her ways too. Let's not pretend that these two stories are the same. Yes, Ariana also was problematic, but she dealt with it and addressed it, and changed. Jesy doubled down on it to an extreme extent and rightly suffered the consequences.
  10. I agree with this, actually. It would have been a perfect time. The only thing I can see happening is either a live album (like the The Hits release) or a Northern Star or Reason special editions for their 25th anniversary later this year with a few unreleased tracks. I saw the video of Home at her Koko gig and would love to see that version being available. But honestly, the speech she gave before that song seems to point towards her still not being on good terms with her old record label, and I dont think it pays well at all for any future licensing deal of her Northern Star or Reason tracks for a Greatest Hits.
  11. Yeah the lies about that cover being made of REAL DIAMONDS!! was so clearly a PR move lol... as iffffff :P I always liked the cover, personally. never really got the melt downs online at the time about it, it was pretty clever and timeless. The only time I didnt like it was in that awful case with pink background. But against the white or the black, it was pretty excellent! I need it in vinyl. NEED IT! They should absolutely repackage it, remove Voodoo and include Step To Me, Never Give Up On The Good Times and If You Wanna Have Some Fun on CD1! That would ballance it out so much with all the ballads (excellent) at the end -_-
  12. They definitely need to bring the Greatest Hits to update with a new package and unreleased tracks. A vinyl with the original cover would be a must too! I really want it!!
  13. I didnt much care for that tbh and probably wouldnt have bought them all for Spiceworld. The thing that made it worse, straight up as soon as they were announced, it was the design and the tracklisting. Then, the quality of the audio on the second CD really killed any fan momentum for the release. I cant quite believe literally no mastering was done on the live tracks... it was just a straight up rip <_< They pissed off the fans, who are the main target audience for these types of releases... Spice25 was mastered at least, and provided some demons and unreleased tracks. Even Spice25 was kind of lackluster in terms of the tracklist as most fans complained the lack of unreleased songs (as Feed Your Love had already been released in Wannabe25). You piss off the fans, a lot of them wont buy your shit. It's simple as that <_<
  14. Yeah Spiceworld was really a let down considering. I think the lack of unreleased tracks and the design really killed it.
  15. Not every b-side and the lame remixes. I LOVED what Sugababes did with inviting new producers to remixing their singles from that album. It brough the music to the contemporary music scene, in such a clever way. We got old, well known previously released remixes instead <_< Neither the Sugababes or Girls Aloud releases sold huge numbers. That didnt stop Girls Aloud doing an even more expanded 20th anniversary edition for their second album, including unreleased mixes, demos and unreleased music. WIth the Spice Girls we got............ terrible audio live versions of their singles (most of which were already available anyway) plus a bunch of well known mixes and shite design. Not a single unreleased track or demo in Spiceworld, which is what the fans had asked for. Certainly the Spice Girls outsold them, and I do think they literally just did like 'minimal effort'... Hell, only Mel C seemed invested in it at all...
  16. Girls Aloud just announced the release of their second album's 20th anniversary edition and includes various unreleased tracks, demos, mixes and a 3-CD set of music from the era... Three whole new unheard songs from the vaults, plus alternative versions of singles, mixes, etc... and their 20th anniversary of Sound of the Underground didn't even sell that well... Literally, of all the girlband anniversary editions, it seems our Spices had the worst ones when it comes to tracklistings.. rugh... Like, Sugababes one was great too...
  17. Well the Coachella line up has been announced and neither the Spice Girls nor Justin Timberlake are on it :nocheer:
  18. The videos look like it was a great fun gig!! Well done Mel!! Also, realised that Mel now sings 'There's a man in Timbaktu' in Spice Up Your Life instead of that awful lyric in the original. Good for her, I hope they adopt it
  19. I really really would L O V E a lyric video for Goodbye25 :teresa: One that goes around that mansion from the original video. Please, I need it  I wanna cry whilst reading them lyrics on a video montage -_- And maybe one for Holler too, using the screen graphics from the 2007 Return tour :whip: AND A NEW VIDEO AND SINGLE MIX FOR IF YOU WANNA HAVE SOME FUN :funky: (and yes, WOMAN to be released too alongside AT LEAST 5 other unreleased songs we havent heard of yet, plus Go Go Go, Too Hot and Overnight (1999 demo)) I MEAN IT!! If Vicky Bex blocks anything, im gonna riot and first I will I go break into Virgin/EMI vaults and steal everyting Spice I can find!! Then, Imma go into Biff's house, seduce him (and definitely kiss him he allows me to cos he fancy and cute) to distract him and then break into his Vault and STEAL everything Spice and including any Emma Bunton and Mel C unreleased demos I can find too just COS IM GONNA BE PISSED OFF!!! Anyone want to join me?
  20. Yeah sadly Twitter has become a mess, specially for pop-music related content and proper engagement. The amount of bots is DRAINING and boring... I kind of agree with sammy though, There's a lot of 'Spice-related tid bits' going around which seems to happen whenever there's upcoming news, and in the streaming social media era, this is kind of what marketing/PR plans do. Either if it was a Spice-PR move or a Pepsi one, it benefits both! I would say that Pepsi sending that man a merch package which is also very much highlighted in the story certainly feels very pointed.
  21. Cute story really! I wish the girls had partnered with Pepsi again last year for it's re-release ah... It would have been great and give Spiceworld and Step To Me another major boost. Step To Me does better on Spotify than I expected tbh... it is roughly 1,4million streams which is not bad at all for a barely promoted 'special anniversary edition' bonus track. The lyric video should get more attention on YouTube though! It's a cute one
  22. The outfits on display will be complemented by audio visual elements, including a stage show montage of Spice Girls hits and listening stations. We have a season of activity planned to support the exhibition including film screenings, conversations, acoustic music and a special quiz night. Finally, the Museum’s merch store will be selling a range of Spice Girls apparel and giftware. LINK HERE Interesting. I guess they would have needed the girls' permissions for the merch at least, and to license their music for the activities planned since they are also selling tickets for attendance to the exhibition. I would hope at least Mel C, since she is from Liverpool, would go to the opening next month. Maybe also Mel B since she is also 'up North'?
  23. Honestly I seriously doubt it
  24. I agree but you also know that as soon as it went on streaming, the gays online would go wild and the press would have a field day with it. And she doesnt want attention to her solo music at all :(
  25. If anyone is interested or looking for some of the Spice25 releases that sold out on their website/HMV/Amazon (such as the individual vinyls, the Wannabe cassette, etc), you can find them all still available on the Bravado website, some of them are on discount as well: https://www.bravado.de/p24/index.html?SID=t...ing=Spice+Girls It is on the European website, so it might be cheaper for shipping expenses to the UK too than from the USA.
