Spice Girls at Christmas • "Spice Up Your Xmas" EP
It is so clear that there is dedication and love poured in to these releases from Girls Aloud whereas the Spice Girls get no love or care at all.... That might be because of the girls themselves, who have to aprove everything and probably the label eventually got fed up and just does the bare minimum, whereas girls aloud don't get much of a say? right? But it is truly dispairing as a fan, goddamn...

Spice Girls at Christmas • "Spice Up Your Xmas" EP
At this point, I think EMI/Virgin actively hates the Spice Girls because why do Girls Aloud just released a brand new music video for an old Christmas track of theirs, by putting together old footage, and we get f*** all new from The Spice Girls other than a Christmas playlist?

Spice Girls - 'Greatest Hits'
Happy 18th anniversary to their Greatest Hits A collection so full of BOPS that made people so overwhelmed they originally didn't really go out to buy it 😛 Also, of course the crap release strategy and quality of the main single Headlines and the other new song Voodoo damped everyone's excitement a bit... They got so much backlash for Headlines (specially when it failed to hit the UK Top10 charts for the first time in their career), that they have never released anything else since... As far as we know, the album sold around 2million copies worldwide, but various reports have mentioned more. The lastest UK and USA reports on their own position it around 2.5million so together with the rest of the world might mean it sold around 4million... Similar to the level of confusion around the Forever album... some outlets say 2million, the group themselves said 4million back in 2001, and I have seen mentions of 6million but this seems highly inflated... Over the years, the Greatest Hits has become less of a 'flop' for their standards, just like Stop, but it doesn't really get much push from the girls, even if it pops up on the iTunes charts and the UK charts every now and then... ANYWAY! What are your feelings on the Greatest Hits? What would you have done differently? How many editions of it do you have? we are not repeating it 'as a fact' lol calm down... we just said it was someone on Spice Circle who said it lol Do you have *any* proof of the 'several thousands of copies' that it has apparently sold, since you stated it?

Spice Girls at Christmas • "Spice Up Your Xmas" EP
Yeah I agree about the Christmas Medley. As much as I dispise Christmas music (and that god awful Emma Christmas tour lol), they were crazy not to release a Christmas song in 1999 to make up for the lack of a proper single and album that year, specially when they were going on a Christmas tour anyway... And one of those songs or even a medley of them would have done wonders at the time - and probably become a season classic... I can see in the next few weeks we might get a HQ version of that performance released on streaming just like the Goodbye performance. I certainly hope so!

Victoria Beckham • General Discussion
and that is precisely why she said it... they ALL do it to varying degrees. They talk about a potential reunion or stories related to the SPice Girls because it is what the press and the social media apps will boost/highlight, in the hope that it brings also awareness to their solo project. Mel C recently said on a red carpet that Victoria is 'itching' to get back on stage and looked smartly at the camera. This is so clearly a line to get that clip to go viral AGAIN... urgh... Victoria's documentary, for all its' attempt to establish her as a serious fashion designer, saw the promotion of it very much centered around her being a Spice Girl. She herself also did that too with that interview...

Victoria Beckham • General Discussion
Victoria was definitely the originally driving force, together with Emma and Geri... There are pictures of the three of them from late 2006/early 2007 where they met up to discuss opportunities. It was in fact also her with Simon I think who came up with the idea as they wanted to gather more money/profile raising opportunities for her so she could establish her name and brand. The whole 'I was only in Spice for a bit' shtick that has been doing since launching herself as a fashion designer is embarrassing and outright lying. 'They used to turn my mic off', 'I was never Celine Dion', ' I was only in Spice Girls for 2 years/4 years'... straight up pissed me off... 1994 - 2000 is 6 years + 3years of solo work + two reunions... She was in the biggest group of the 90s, the biggest girlband in the world, and she always put her participation down when we know she was instrumental everytime... yet everytime she reunited with the girls was to increase her profile or make more money for a bit before heading off again... I get it, two of the others do the same - Geri and Mel C - but with Victoria its always been a bit stupid as it is obviously lies to protect her fashion brand.

You can add: Spice Girls Goodbye (Live at Christmas In Spiceworld, Earl's Court, London, UK / 1999) released on YouTube Forever25 merch drop

Spice Girls - 'Forever'
Sure... But what if we are getting the Christmas in Spiceworld live album instead??? For me, that would be perfect as it is one of their very best live concerts overall 😄 Plus, since there is no Geri, maybe they were finally able to release it by using the 4-member is enough rule lol

Spice Girls - 'Forever'
So it turns out that the Goodbye (Live at Christmas in Spiceworld Tour) can actually be bought/downloaded on iTunes (as a video) and it is on Spotify though not yet available to stream: iTunes: https://music.apple.com/gb/music-video/goodbye-live-at-christmas-in-spiceworld-earls-court/1850992196 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/intl-pt/track/0TNcspiWjHI9zmihJKOXkG?si=0a3b433b2a0b4456 Since the mailer seemed to point towards us 'looking out over the next few weeks' it seems like we might be getting a few more live tracks and maybe even a Live album??? A couple of articles and press release by Universal Music Group released today for the Forever anniversary also talk about the original scrapped album in 1999 (as well as a bunch of songs that were recorded but ultimately scrapped for the 3rd album once Geri left): Press release from Universal Music Group: Released on November 1st, 2000, Forever marked the Spice Girls’ first record without Geri Halliwell. Much of the record was written before Halliwell’s departure, during the group’s 1998 Spiceworld Tour, but after Halliwell left the group, many of the original songs were scrapped, and a planned live album was cancelled. https://www.udiscovermusic.com/news/spice-girls-forever-red-marble-vinyl-reissue/ https://www.udiscovermusic.com/stories/spice-girls-forever-album/ I MEAN!! Looks like we are in for a treat indeed this Christmas...

Spice Girls - 'Forever'
Also, today's mailer seems to hint at more to come over the next few weeks 😃
-
Spice Girls - 'Forever'
agree, they were still on a high in 1999! Shame it all came crashing down after the Brits lol
-
Spice Girls - 'Forever'
This is exactly what I am thinking... They could have easily filled up a Christmas EP with things like this...
