Girls Aloud: General Reunion Discussion
(Post moved from Spice Girls forum) Wembley? I was at the 02 one. By the time they did Fix Me Up, I was so bored I wanted to leave. My friend made me stay, not cos she was enjoying herself but because we had paid a lot of money to be there so might as well stay lol... It was quite crap, sorry. None of them bar Nadine can hold a note, at least at the time. Sarah just shouted, the others sounded always out of breath or out of tune. Choreo was meh, the type of pop-choreo that seemed forced. The only interesting bit was the flying platform to the middle. Nadine can sing well, great voice, and Cheryl had star power/attitude, but apart from those two aspects, the whole thing was just so... lame lol like I'm sorry but it didnt work for me at all. I like quality and artists who care for their craft. This wasnt it, clearly. They like the 'razzle dazzle' but they arent event that good at it. I remember being particularly dissapointed cos I enjoyed Tangled Up and a lot of their singles prior to that. We went to the tour cos it seemed like they were evolving. But it was just... 'Butlins with a higher budget' lol

Girls Aloud: General Reunion Discussion
(Post moved from Spice Girls forum) Yeah Girls Aloud reuniting is unexpected specially as it means new music too... But personally, I wouldnt bother with a live tour for Girls Aloud.. I went during the Out of Control tour and it was quite bad... They are not good as a live act lol

A new study in America shows that out of all Billboard Charts, "Wannabe" is at the #2 spot for overall most recognised song from the 90s, behind only Britney's "Baby One More Time" and Celine Dion's "My Heart WIll Go On" (both are tied at #1). It also shows as the second most recognised for Millenials overall and third by Gen Z generations. Of course, remember this USA based study ONLY! Defining the ’90s Music Canon Pretty good still after all these years :cheer:

Probably not as successful but it would do good numbers, I think. But they (and the record company) would have to commit to its promotion!

-_- I don't think they will tour whilst Geri is in 'author' mode... I dont see it in 2024 either to be honest...

Spice Girls at Christmas
Kind of, it is more like a re-working than a straight cover. The lyrics are new for instance.

Emma Bunton • General Discussion
At this point, I kind of just wish Emma would buy out the masters from Free Me and Life in Mono so she could own them, distribute them properly and inadvertedly make more money directly from them. It's probably a case of only a few more thousand a year, if that, but it's about honouring and respecting your own work, Bunton!!!

Leigh-Anne ft Ayra Starr - My Love • 2nd Single
Her team probably has a deal with Glamour... how odd that this most probably a pointed/bought award, not necessarily a deserved one

Can we have anything other than Wannabe please? Please.... Like, Im so bored of Wannabe  Say You'll Be There, Who Do You Think You Are, Stop, Spice Up Your Life, Never Give Up On The Good Times... all of these have great hooks that can be remixed... I fear another commissioned remix will just turn out like this KQATWybJl7Y

Emma Bunton • General Discussion
Same. My particular gripe with him is that he seems to do nothing without the expectation of a multi-million pound return. There is no passion for the art that the artists create. That's my main gripe with his approach. It was evident back in the day how much focus he spent on promotion and brand deals, leaving little time to focus on music and developing them as artists. And now it translates to 'this will do' type of reunions where there is big money but little effort from all sides. And this type of blocking of Emma's music is really pissing me off.

When it comes to girl bands they are 4th on Spotify overall monthly listeners right? It goes: Blackpink - Little Mix - Destiny's Child - Spice Girls - Fifth Harmony or am I forgetting someone? Also, their Spotify profile needs to be updated asap. The description on the About text is still from 2012 and the picture there is also from the GH 2007 era

A fan on PopJustice about Free Me not being available worldwide: Universal only own rights for UK/ I. They confirmed that with me last week. They have mentioned to 19 about them making the release available wider. So it seems like confirmation that Simon and his team are at fault here and have been for years :nono: Let's bombard 19 with pleas for them to put it on streaming worldwide now!! Let's demand: Free Me and Life in Mono on streaming worldwide!! Free Me 20th anniversary released with vinyl + CD/Digital with unreleased tracks E-mails: England: info@xixentertainment.com Worldwide: presscentre.xixentertainment.com Social media: https://www.instagram.com/xixentertainment/ https://twitter.com/XIX_NEWS Also, it pisses me RIGHT OFF cos Simon is the type of guy who would probably be too stubborn to do arsed to do something like this because it wont bring him millions of pounds... Like, do something for the sake of it FOR ONCE :smoke: LET'S FLOOD IT GIRLIES

I seriously doubt them - or Simon - would care for a 6-disc thing but I agree that a new version of the GH would be perfect timing for this. Chuck a couple of unreleased tracks and it would be quite the release, me thinks!!

Can you share? I heard the snippet for Better of Alone too and it was fine. I can see why it was left off the album and not even a bside, but it was cute to listen to

Two unreleased - and previously unkown - songs from A Girl Like Me era are apparently making the rounds and could probably leak one day No Love Better Off Alone (granted this one is known by now as a clip has been shared on Spice Circle but alas lets pray it leakes soon)

Forthcoming Spice Girls Documentary
Posting this here without a link as don't want to give ANY more clicks to the rotten shit bag that is The Sun newspaper, but they just posted this on Spice Circle. What do we think girlies? SPICE EARNER: Spice Girls set to make £1m each from upcoming Netflix documentary… and could perform one-off concert THE SPICE GIRLS are set to net £1million each for their upcoming Netflix documentary marking their 30th anniversary next year – and they are hoping to do a one-off performance too. The Nineties girl band — Geri Horner, Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Mel B and Emma Bunton — have all signed up to the streaming platform’s exciting project. It comes after the huge success of Beckham, the documentary on Posh’s hubby David, which has spent the past three weeks at the top of Netflix’s global chart, having been streamed in more than 25million homes, while Posh is in talks to make one on her fashion career. A source told me: “The pop legends are excited to mark the milestone celebration and think this is the perfect way to do it. "The documentary will have high production values, and the performance ideas are being explored, with Glastonbury 2024 being an obvious option. “Getting all five women to the table is a huge coup, and fortunately Netflix has deep enough pockets to entice top talent. “They’re all proud of what they achieved in the band and are excited to look back at old footage and relive fond memories. “The finer details are being ironed out and a performance of some kind will be the icing on the cake.” Last year Mel B revealed that she and the other girls had been working with the team behind Netflix hit The Last Dance, about the life of basketball superstar Michael Jordan. She said: “The director and the whole concept of how that was shot and filmed is really, really, really good. So we’ll be doing our own version.” Victoria missed the girls’ 13-date tour of the UK and Ireland in 2019. Mel C performed a solo set at this year’s Glastonbury, where she revealed: “All of the Spice Girls would like to play Glasto, that is the truth. “Like I said to the audience, doing a couple of Spice Girls songs, ‘A bit of a warm-up for next year?’.” The band formed in 1994, with debut single Wannabe reaching No1 in 37 countries in 1996. Their first six singles went to No1 and they became a symbol of Nineties feminism. Geri quit in 1998 and the band took a hiatus in 2000, with all five girls enjoying successful solo careers. In 2007 they briefly reunited for a world tour, with tickets for their London O2 gig selling out in two minutes. Five years later they performed at the closing ceremony for the London Olympics. Viva Forever, ladies . . .
