Alright girllies, let's figure this out! Thinking about second singles that were released from their solo albums. Often, the second singles are seen as 'make or break' for many pop stars and it is save to say that when it cames to the girls, it was a bit hit and miss! Most of these did well enough on their own, some even made sure they were seen as successes, whereas some others came and went and basically put a stop to their album campaigns... It's save to say that Mi Chico Latino made sure Geri was seen as a success post-Look At Me. Northern Star pretty much got Mel C on a better footing after faltering with Goin' Down, and Feels So Good was an improvement on Tell Me. But Take My Breath Away didn't really offer much to the A Girl Like Me campaign and as a response Emma and Virgin records wanted to change course drastically for the next single, and it ultimately that decision derailed the campaign completely. Whereas Victoria's album campaign was already on its last legs by the time she released A Mind of It's Own, and that flopping critically and commercially ultimately put a stop to it all. BUT as a fan, in your own opinion, which of these made the best overall singles? And best overall videos? And when it comes to thinking of singles as an overall 'package', taking acount the CD covers, the b-sides, the remixes, the performances, etc, what do you think is your favourite overall? the fact these girls will do anything but do music together and instead put out crap like this or my happy place is so depressing.... good luck to her. I will stream the album to check it out for sure but it doesnt sound like this is for me.

A real, new solo album is the dream here. It is the only thing solo wise I am invested in... It's a legit store and I'm glad that the fan's sources were wrong (they did say they spoke with the team quite a while ago...) I just hope there will be a 2CD as well! But if this is it, it is more than what most fans expected anyway lol so I will buy it for sure!

She is the link between them all, she gets along and often hangs out with each of them, so it would make sense to be honest.

Update: Seems like Baby 'I have two management teams and a record label' Bunton was on Heart FM today this morning as a guest and she announced that she had dinner at Victoria's last week, was with Gerita yesterday and spoke on the phone with Mel C. She said they are all gorgeous and mummies now. Thrilling updates, and she did it herself, saving from having to pay another check to WEM management team and Simon from releasing a statement about it. She's so back!!

They have always ignored it when it comes to touring... in fact I dont think they went back to Asian region as a group after 1996 did they?

She just knows that a 5-piece reunion would eclipse the Oasis one by a clear mile 😅 No jokes, they could easily do like 12 dates at Wembley as a 5-piece and probably would still have demand for more...

I thought so too at first about the video uploads feeing into these, BUT in the case of Free Me and Maybe, there are no official uploads of Free Me and Maybe videos from Emma's channel. It's all fan uploads, which i dont think would count?... I prefered Apple for sure for quality but overall I find it quite expensive to pay for that service and agree that it's not as easy to navigate, which is why I am sticking with YouTubeMusic for now... As far as I know, Spotify is only lossless for Premium paying, which i am not doing (Spotify is funding the development of AI technology in warfare across EU and Middle East, just this year it funded it by the tune of £600million!!!). Plus, Spotify pays the artists some of the least whereas teh others pay better.

Definitely sticking with YouTubeMusic for now! Free Me (the song) has over 1million streams on there, and Life in Mono album streams are much healthier than on Spotify. Plus, even the free version pays the artists better, and the sound is much much better than Spotify.

OK I'm going to wait for the full thing cos that clip is giving generic music and styling... I can hear the Hurts influences though so hopefully the production itself is better on record. Maybe this is her High Heels - a little taster of what is to come but a bit too generic to represent the whole album?...

I'd love an anthology from them, for sure... it's about time they give us a new collection, as the GH is so old now lol But I still would like a Forever25 release, even if it is digital. A fan made a comment that I agree with actually: putting WOMAN on a Forever25 release might be odd as it is such a different sounding song and wouldnt go with the r-n-b flavour of the album, and thus could be seen as desrespecting the producers and the album itself...

I really wanted a 2CD to finish the damn set with the other two...

OK I've just been told that a while ago there was a proposal about a Forever25 project but two of the girls hadnt signed on to it yet... mind you this was a while ago so things could have changed since but the real kicker is that it did not involve music at all either and was something quite small ☹️ Could be bullshit but the person who told me has good connections with their team 🫠 they say that it is hard to get the rights due to the complicated process of making this album, and that there is more focus rn on next year for the 30th anniversary of the group. My guess is a couple of instagram posts and maybe a Holler lyric video and some merch... lower your expectations even more than they were already girlies...

and whose fault would that be?.... all we ask for is music, all we get is bad merch and cheap products that recycle all the music that is out there, with no promo from the girls themselves... if they put any care into it, it will sell..

Actually come to think of it, I wouldnt be surprised if both Victoria and Mel C put a stop to any Forever 25 projects being released at all, specially if it would include any unreleased music... We have been told by in-the-know-fans that it will be something quite small, if anything at all... Victoria is about to release her big Netflix documentary in a couple of weeks and Mel C is about to release her new single as well. I would bet neither of them would want any attention diverted to some unreleased music or the release of WOMAN in particular, which would create a huge buzz in the Spice fandom and generate press or internet hits that would bring attention to it. At this point, I don't think anything will be released other than some instagram posts and probably some merch that no-one will buy...

Yeah the live arrangements from Istanbul to the Return tours were incredible and brought the songs to live in a great way. I find the live arrangements really brought up Spice Up Your Life in a way that the song on the CD then always felt a bit flat in comparison for instance. TBH I find teh European leg of the tour quite weird in terms of set list... The inclusion of Walk of Life was too random, same with the covers.... of course, the Mels rocked theirs but Emma's felt really pointless. No Love Thing? That felt like too much of an omission... No Something Kinda Funny?... At least they gave us a great performance of Denying, one of their best songs to this day!

Totally agree Jay It was so sad that Denden simply vanished... Denis was a real c**t about deleting it all rather than passing it to someone else or at least find a way to archive it publicly or whatever... It's insane and it was straight up mean. Yeah I kind of loathe Spice Circle, because it feels like it brings out the worst in people over there. Here we can have better discussions and yes while it is somehow quieter, it is at least more interesting and safe as a space. Job well done to you and the other mods ❣️
