  1. Celebrate 30 years of ‘Wannabe’ with our official commemorative coin, available now from Royal Mint as part of their Music Legends Collection ✌️🪙 Prices range from £18.50 for 'normal coins' to £345 for silver coins and lol £10,000 for gold coins https://www.royalmint.com/shop/limited-editions/music-legends/spice-girls/ Will you be getting anything? (funny tidbit: in the inlay of the slipcases that come with the boxes, it states they sold 90million albums.... so I guess that's the new official number for record sales?... lol)
  2. She got the dates wrong so she is just waiting Bjork to come back home so they can hang out at Bjork's personal studio which is high up a mountain with no wifi and she has a polar bear as a pet. Then they go drive deeper into the snowy island at night get high and watch the aurora boreal lights in the sky and get inspired to make a pop-psychadelic album in which Bjork will SING the drumms while Emma will sing another cover of 2 Become 1 over the beat. It's all going to be really great and Emma will come out of it with a new masterpiece that will rival Rosalia's latest album! Just you wait, Baby Bunton is on it!!!!!
  3. GUYS I JUST REALISED THAT I FORGOT TO INCLUDE THE ONLY (to date) SPICE DUET!!!! I Know Him So Well was NOT the first and only Spice duet AND ALSO the last time any of them properly charted in the main charts for me to forget to include it here!! And for all you bitches to not remember either!!! (So in order to be fair, I declare that I Know Him So Well is actually the rightfull winner here and not smelly Northern Star thank you!!! )
  4. She is exhausted you know? She just finished filming back to back podcast episodes of Unlikely Friends with her husband and two best friends, from her house where the premise is 'just talk whatever and sometimes a celebrity will ask you about a Spice-Girls related question but you will answer it in a vague way and blame it on menopause'... Once she is back from Bjork land, she will get back to the studio in no time. IN FACT she might be in Iceland to COLLABORATE WITH BJORK LIKE MADONNA DID BACK IN THE 90s!!!! 😮‍💨
  5. Yes ☹️ She was so good, and so well loved...
  6. For once I was STUNNED about this between Northern Star and All I Need To Know. I think both are perfect songs, with NS being the first time I thought a solo Spice record was 'immaculate' and I still think it is Melanie's best song overall today! However, All I Need to Know is just perfect. The full track is so haunting, so beautifully written, produced and sang that I just fall in love with it everytime. Ultimately, I think Northern Star is the better single but All I Need to Know is the better song overall, so I went with AINTK!! WILD that Emma has only ever released ONE ballad as a single! Absolutely wild, specially when Free Me and Life in Mono have some of the best Spice-related ballads overall. Breathing, No Sign of Life, Something So Beautiful, Life in Mono, All That You'll Be would have are all perfect ballads... Even in the Spice Girls, she was Queen of the ballads, with all of their ballads having her as either a lead or the main singer singing throughout. Anyway.... All I Need To Know!!!
  7. Girlies, the Spice Girls are as well known for their downtempos and ballads as they are for their uptempos! Classics like Viva Forever, Too Much , 2 Become 1 and Goodbye have defined generations of blue-state girlies and gays! But when it comes to their solo discographies, well... things haven't been so rosie as they had with the group, have they?... While some of them have made some absolute gem ballads across their albums like Melanie C's Home or Wonderland, Emma's Breathing or All That You'll Be (in fact most of Life in Mono album....), Mel B's Hell No or Gerita's 'Someone's Watching Over Me' (sorry Vicky Bex but I just can't include you here) but when it comes to SINGLES released by them as solo artists... well... Things haven't necessarily been that great have they?..... However, some great ballads were done and released, courageously. Vicky Bex once claimed in her biography Learning to Fly that she bumped into the Absolute boys in the studio and one of them said that Geri was working on a new ballad and said to her 'you know Geri, she is never going to do a great ballad is she?....? THE SHADE!! ☠️ Shockingly, Emma who is so good at ballads as actually only released ONE as a single! That's right, All I Need to Know is Emma's sole ballad. Take My Breath Away is more a mid-tempo than a ballad, so All I Need to Know takes the reins here. It's wild, as she had probably the most ballad-heavy albums with Free Me, Life in Mono and My Happy Place lol Mel C on the other hand, has released so many (mostly bad) ballads as singles, it is actually stupid that she chose those against better songs on her albums lol.... For our own sake, I am including songs like Sometimes or Viva Life. We deserve better than dirty ourselves with those here. Let's stick to 'album singles'. ANYWAY! Which ones are your favourites? Geri Halliwell Melanie B Emma Bunton Victoria Beckham Melanie C
  8. I think Look at Me was fun but it was too 'marketing driven' for my liking, overall... Plus, she flat out sounds flat in some parts of it lol Emma also recorded more guitar-driven songs, the A Girl Like Me album has lots of them lol just not on par with WTYSL... I do kind of wish she didn't pivot so much from that sound with We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight though, that just killed the era. Personally I think What Took You So Long takes it. It's a perfect song, perfect video and era overall. It always goes down well and it is still a good radio staple in Europe just like When You're Gone and It's Raining Men. Mel C might have been brave but she looked a bit cringe with the video and she had much better songs on the album to launch with. Goin Down is a great album track but not a lead single. Just like Not Such an Innocent Girl, they were Look at Me type of singles: meant to gather attention by being extravagant or shocking. Out of those, Look At Me is the better song, for sure. Poor Tell Me though. I do love it and Mel's delivery on it. It shouldnt have been a launch single though. Feels So Good was right there! I think Tell Me could have been a great 4th single or a double AA-side with another song. Imagine Hotter/Tell Me, that would be great! As an album launch single? naaaa... Love the video though
  9. I don't care hun, it's not on the album and was released a whole year before the album even came out and it is not the first single from the album. Let's focus here hun x
  10. THE VOTE IS ABOUT THE FIRST SINGLES FROM DEBUT ALBUMS!!!!! READ BEFORE POSTING!!!
  11. No! It was not a single from Victoria's debut album at all!!
  12. Ok Spicegirlies, it's been 27 years since the very first albums from members of the band got released! Still today, they are the only girlband from the UK to have all band members releasing a solo album AND the only girlband to have all members debuting their debut solo singles in the Top10 !! Party La indeed!(stream Voodoo for clear skin!) Now, enough time has passed and some of these debut singles have been forgotten (sorry Goin Down and Tell Me), some have found viral and chart success just this year (hello Not Such an Innocent Girl), some of them get a few 200-like tweets every now and then (hi Look At Me) and some of them still play regularly across European and South America radio stations (hello What Took You So Long! Get that coin Emma!) It's safe to say that while iconic at the time in their own right, for different reasons, these are not necessarily legendary songs. Only one hit #1 dispite all of them having HEAVY promotion from each girl, but sadly most seem forgotten today, apart from maybe Look at Me and What Took You So Long that still stream well (for Solo Spice standards) today. But which one is your favourite still all these years later? Will it be big-band Look At Me? The rock-wannabe-chick Goin' Down? Or Maybe.mp3 you prefer the funky and angry Tell Me? Perhaps the pop-guitar-slightly-UK-country What Took You So Long still gets you going? Or has the wild virality and #1 on the UK (download) Charts success of Not Such an Innocent Girl revived your love for it? Here's a reminder of them all, in order of release: Geri Halliwell's Look At Me (this damn thumbnail is horrific lol) ☠️ Melanie C's Going Down Melanie B's Tell Me Emma Bunton's What Took You So Long Victoria Beckham - Not Such An Innocent Girl
  13. Also another song by Gerita has come to light: it's called f*** Me 😅 and it was used in an old Instagram post by her lol the fans on Spice Circle are talking about it here Here's the BMI listing for it: https://repertoire.bmi.com/Search/Search?Main_Search_Text=17267321&Main_Search=BMI%20Work%20ID&Search_Type=all&View_Count=0&Page_Number=0
  14. Seems like Dingeling is not a Spice Girls song, but a recording using a Spice Girls song as part of a TV sketch by some Danish comedians This was found out by the fans on Spice Circle, putting an end to the speculation on that track. I have deleted it from the list as it makes no sense. It seems we have less and less info on Spiceworld demos/unreleased songs ☹️
  15. That's not bad for a promo song...
  16. This promo CD is like a holy grail lol Not only Absolute version of Wannabe but also Acapella versions!
  17. In Sugar & Spice they talk about how the guy has to feed their appetite and to not go messing with their head, for instance. I think lyrically they absolutely then developped a more girl-power centered approach for sure. But again, this song and Melody of Life, the two we were discussing, were not written by them. They just have a good Spice-vibe type of sound to them that then got developped and polished. Thats what I meant. About Do You Think About Me, I think it was definitely in contention for the album, or at least as part of that era's repertoire. They wouldn't have performed it on TV without having the rights to it, for instance.
  18. I mean, Say You'll Be There, 2 Become 1 are quite yearning lol But I meant more in sound, as they blend pop, funk and r'n'b, even have some rapping and shouting by Geri/Mel.... oh and also Do You Think About Me was still being considered as a possible song on Spice back in 1996 as they even performed it live on MTV lol
  19. Thank you for your comments 😉 I have no idea about the Your Lucky Night/Absolute track, it seems quite random to be honest and it doesnt fit into any of the eras producing teams we know she worked with... and why would they register it? Two theories: AGLM: Since they are more pop-r'n'b producers, I would asume they worked with her on A Girl Like Me sessions maybe? GEM: Maybe, just MAYBE, she also recorded with them during the GEM sessions and this came from it? Who knows... just that it is the only link with Absolute post-Spiceworld that we know of! I also find it really odd that we have no idea of any Absolute demos from the Spice and Spiceworld eras at all, besides what was released?... that sounds really odd to me.
  20. CONFIRMED UPDATES Spice Girls Coins by The Royal Mint, coming this year Spice Girls Funko POP Rock Wannabe outfits edition - coming in June It's funny... we've had some remarkable things that came our way since 2019 but most of them had nothing to do with the group - they were done despite the band itself lol The Spice Girls LEGO and the Royal Mail Spice Girls editions are not random things, nor are they technically 'merch' they are markers of genuine cultural impact from the band. And now these two things coming this year... sure they have to sign off on those things for licensing reasons (and they have the power to do that) but I don't think it was any of them personally calling LEGO or the Royal Mint to do special editions for them lol, specially since as far as we know they don't even have a proper management team in place right now...
  21. Spice Girls Funk Pops finally coming! Will you be getting some? Seems like it will go to coincide with the Wannabe 30th anniversary and it might mean they have the Wannabe costumes as well... 22. I dont know, I guess the list of best selling singles sound correct as hell! The sales lists also sound ok but maybe a bit too low as Spice had been on at least 23million since before 2017 and that Wannabe figure also sounds too low, same with some of the other singles...
  23. More updated info on album sales: "Apparently that may not be including downloads as they also revealed these album figures for 2026 including everything: 1. Spice (31,900,000) 2. Spiceworld (17,200,000) 3. Forever (1,600,000) 4. The Greatest Hits (2,100,000) – 52.8 million albums" Sounds more like it to be honest.... Forever and GH being so low is a CRIME though!! If only Spiceworld had been in print all these years.... it hasnt been in print on anything other than vinyl since 2002 and they have only paid it dust! URFGH
  24. From matthew on Spice Circle: "I was given a list of the top 1000 physical selling singles of all time worldwide and amazingly all the Spice Girls 90's singles made it in the top 1000 list: 1. 25. that's wild cos both those songs sound straigh up like the girls would have written them lol
