Spice Girls - Chart Runs & Sales Thread: UK
Thank you Jay! Hopefully around the end of the year when we +hopefully+ get a Forever25 release, we will get some updated numbers! I'd love love to know if: Spice has gone over 3,300,000 copies yet - making it 11xPlatinum How close is Spiceworld to 6xPlatinum and how close is Forever to 300,000 copies (jfc...) If Goodbye and Who Do you Think You Are are yet over 1million each??!! I would imagine that Goodbye is already over that and I hope they use that as a metric for the Forever25 campaign! And has Stop broken the 800,000 barrier and if Viva Forever has gone over 900,000? These two seemed to get a boost during the Spiceworld25 campaign so I wouldnt be surprised if its numbers have gone up a bit more than usual... I would also love to know if Greatest Hits is still selling well? It is still in print both in CD and Vinyl so I assume it's ticking on nicelly... I hope it is getting close to 3x platinum at least

Seems like things are picking up stream with the Netflix drama about the Spice Girls. The Sun is reporting they seemingly have signed on the UK's most sought after screen-writer Jack Rooke to get the script going. That's massive news, Jack is a well regarded person and writer overall! hope it does go ahead, the article also seems very positive about a world tour for next year. Apparently the 2019 tour made £40million in profit, which is great after everything has been paid for, that's great extra money they pocketed. Let's hope things move ahead. The article is pasted below, but I aint linking to that fascist rag: SPICE IS RIGHT….ON TRACK Huge boost for Netflix’s troubled Spice Girls drama as streamer makes major backstage signing NETFLIX’S drama about the Spice Girls is back on track after the streaming giant signed one of Britain’s biggest TV writers to create a pilot. The troubled project has struggled to get off the ground after the bandmates were at daggers drawn through much of 2024. But with the prospect of a multi-million-pound world tour next year, they seemed to have magically smoothed things over. Now I can reveal that Jack Rooke, the comedian and creator of hit Channel 4 comedy Big Boys, is writing the script for the drama which next year will celebrate three decades since the group’s debut single, Wannabe. A TV insider said: “Bagging Jack is a real coup for the project and might be the crucial element that drives the drama forward after its rocky start. “He already has a relationship with Mel C, who’s a huge fan of his comedy Big Boys, and that could be the pivotal connection that takes things on to the next stage. Of course, Netflix has yet to confirm it has commissioned the show and there’s still a lot to play for. But there now seems to be a genuine will to make things happen. “No matter what Jack comes up with, it will be a loving and funny look at the band he grew up listening to in the Nineties and Noughties.” Since Big Boys launched three years ago, Jack has been nominated for a string of awards for the show and last year scooped a Bafta. He is now one of Britain’s most sought-after writers, with industry insiders speculating over what project he would take on since his semi-autobiographical comedy had its third and final outing this year. Last month he confirmed he was working on a pilot for Netflix adding it would have “some of the hallmarks of Big Boys, while perhaps leaning more on the drama-comedy”.

Not releasing Breathing straight after Crickets was a real shame, actually ☹️ I feel it would have done really well towards the end of the summer and it kinda of sucks she didn't give the song a try!

All of them would benefit massively from this. If Fuller also needs a hefty load of cash, this would be an obvious cash cow to go after. Geri would also get the incentive of getting extra millions so she can co-fund her movie or whatever lol Victoria didn't fall out with Simon Fuller though, they just parted ways as far as I remember, in 2020 as she wanted a management team that was more focused on fashion only. And she is technically still a director and part of the Spice Girls Ltd company to this day too, so she will always benefit.

@Hooplasledge08 Seems like Are You Ready (ft Michie One) is this track which was releaseed by Banshee, but at the time people thought it was a Victoria Beckham track, so it is just a rumour it seems...

second album. It was supposed (confirmed?...) to be the next single in early 2004 after LYHG/This Groove, but it all got cancelled after Telstar went bankrupt and Victoria quit her music career

Can we just appreciate how INCREDIBLE this single was? The song is a BOP, the performances were FIRE and the video was FUN, the bsides and remixes were PERFECTION! Honestly I think overall this might have been the most thought-out and overall best curated single package overall for Emma. I wish it had had more success on its own, so we could have had a bit more of an extended era, but at least we got some of her best performances out of it (and the album came back to the charts!)

Yeah you are right, I might change the Can't Get Enough one to just one listing but include the three references and respective youtube uploads to it. The vocals of the supposed OOYM demo are exactly the ones on the final song? I cant figure out lyric changes either lol is it just the final Victoria spoken bits at the end that change? If anything it might just be a slightly different pre-release mix, rather than a demo (which would be a rougher, earlier edit). This sounds too polished to be just a demo. The Are You Ready ft Michie One - never heard of it before BUT there is this CD currently on sale (and maybe one of you wants to get it and upload it? lol) https://themusicshopandmore.com/victoria-beckham-come-together-unreleased-album-expanded-edition-2004-2-cd-set/

And JESUS CHRIST I just came across this supposed demo. Is it real? The vocals are too close to the released version for me to quite believe it lol

Spice Girls • All Released Songs, Rarities and Demos Lists
Thank you, slowly making my way through some of these. I am reticent about what to include when it comes to the Can't Get Enough because the three versions in Mille Spice account sound the same to me lol I found some of the demos mentioned in the Ultimatespice website and the ones I found online on youTube have such different timings or not much difference at all... a lot of what is out there are fan-made videos uploaded with wrong information or that the fans who uploaded them made their own versions (different timing, etc)... I guess fan-made stuff really is making this a mess to navigate through, damn... I think I am mostly there though... Ive added a lot of the info on the main page now.

Thank you thank you! Almost there! I have a few questions on this: - Did all these tracks leak? - I can only find one version online of Can't Get Enough, and it is usually titled as Can't Get Enough of You DJ. I am going to only include the title on the CDr for now, but would love to know if there are more than one track out there! - Same with Me Without You: do we know which version (the Soulpower or the Rob Davis) is out there? I can only find one as well (this one) - Let Your Head Go - I have included this version on a separate list of 'other versions of released tracks'. But the track shows up in both CDrs, do we know which one this is from? And do we have the other version at all? - DAT Simple - is this a different version from the one on the Damon Dash mixtape? Also, was there a solo version out there? I seem to remember but now I cant find it - Baby Boy (Hard Version) and Baby Boy (Soft Version) - these are This Groove right? I have included them in the same other list as LYHG but just wanted to check! - from the 'Come Together' CD, there are 3 songs that also got released included: That Dude, Valentine, Me and You This Time. Have these versions also leaked? - Resentement (Elvis Song) - I am including that in 'other versions section', assuming it is a demo or earlier mix of the released version. Also, @Hooplasledge08 do you have links to the writers of both Back To Life and Bring The Beat Back To Life'? There is also another version of This Groove that was included in this Damon Dash' Mixtape, titled Don't Disturb This Groove. The versions I found on YouTube that are labelled in this title, are just the This Groove track lol do we have any idea of this has also leaked? Almost there, I think.........

Spice Girls • All Released Songs, Rarities and Demos Lists
Thanks Jay. I will add to this. Just a quick questions: Are these two lists representative of each of the CDrs that were leaked? The ones that fans call 'Come Together' and 'Open Your Eyes'? and if so, which is which? I think those were also fan-made titles of the so-called two albums, right? So I think I will stick with just an extensive list of names and titles as a whole, rather than separate them, but I might indicate on each title where the song was known 'from'.

Honestly the whole thing is so confusing, with so many fan-made variations out there, that I struggle to even have the energy to try and sort out that section on the first page of this thread lol Any help would that would be really appreciated

Spice Girls • All Released Songs, Rarities and Demos Lists
The funny thing is that there are a few variations of rumours about a 'goodbye' type of song around... There was a rumour about a song called 'Bye' that was to be 7mins long or something like this, and this as Don't Forget as well which is over 5mins long... I think they might just be rumours that come from maybe insiders that heard different demos of what would eventually become Goodbye and ran with these stories lol The Don't Forget situation is suspicious but I think the title goes well with the Dunblane massacre-narrative that they were working on first. Not sure about that Morales mix, but I would love to know if it exists at all!

All I see is a wasteland of talent over there :( Imagine, wasting it all like this. I really really hope Emma is laying low whilst preparing a potential comeback. You don't sign up to WME management and go back to a label and management team just for the hell of it... She would have had a plan, I would imagine... Or maybe Bunton is secretly masterminding next year's Spice Girls worldwide tour herself, in which case please Bunton work your way through it with patience and gusto, ignore your solo stuff for a while longer and give us the good stuff

WHERE IS EMMA BUNTON????!!!!! Seriously, what the hell... it's the middle of the year pretty much and we've heard nothing, nada at all. She sometimes shares stuff on instagram that she is tagged onto, but that's all we have from her... Is she still doing that radio show?

Some more rumoured tracks just came to light (in this but I am choosing to ont really believe this LOL as it sounds too fan-made). I do remember the rumours about Virgin/EMI wanting to release a Greatest Hits called The Spiciest Hits for sure though, and Mel C stating back then that the record company was going to release it anyway even without the group's involvement. I will be put all of these on the rumours lists lol Anyway, the new songs info here is: New song titles "Don't Forget" - early Demo of Goodbye including Geri. Apparently it is a piano-led version that is over 5:20 long. The poster goes to say that the producers at Virgin (lol) mastered it from the original with 'the girls voices filtered' but that just really sounds like made up crap lol and the lyrics sound even worse lol "Make It This Way" - from 1997/1998 - Apparently 20sec clips leaked in 2005 but this is the first Ive heard of this "5 Chances" - from 1997/1998 - Apparently 20sec clips leaked in 2005 but this is the first Ive heard of this Other 'new' information from Virgin's Vaults Never Give Up On The Good Times - Never Give Up On The Good Times (Morales Classic Mix) to be included on the main CD; it was the version that was apparently going to be released with Viva Forever as a double A-side but Morales missed the original deadline - Morales Club mix, Radio Mix and Classic Club Mix, Classic Radio Mix and Dubs exist Viva Forever - Morales Club mix, Radio Mix and Classic Club Mix, Classic Radio Mix and Dubs exist 2 Become 1 - Morales Classic Edit mix exists Who Do You Think You Are - Almighty 2006 Mix exists Too Much - Hani's Club Experience mix exists W.O.M.A.N - Morales Radio Edit exists Source: https://www.ukmix.org/forum/music/the-vault/2000s/29667-spice-girls-the-spiciest-hits?fbclid=IwY2xjawKPNudleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETBVUHVvWGlUc2ZHd1lQYnhIAR51EV9xePSD5Ffjug2rvIoKs6zBv30xd-trPZlRTj3ZxEjOT7vklm_gS5P4dg_aem_RvraqCa60NImyhIPBLoFSA

ah damn, thanks! Added it To be honest, I honestly think the SECOND ALBUM session of VB on the main page needs sorting out properly but I am aghast at how different information is out there about it and I cant quite make much sense of it. I do understand that even the songs out there might have been altered by fans before they leaked, as there were discussions on Denden (RIP!!) Forums that the CDs were to be leaked and VB's laywers got involved, so they changed some aspects of the songs before leaking as to avoid lawsuits.... lol Help me please!!

also fans are saying on SC that there was a rumoured track done early 1998 called Never Forget which is apparently an early demo for Goodbye done with Geri, Emma and 'another girl' around a piano. I also just came across on Spicenews.com that there were the following reports (rumours): 1998: August: Spice Girls recorded a country/rock song in Nashville (probably lies lol) that was to be their next single 1998: October: All Saints + Spice Girls collaboration for a charity single, a cover of Ain't No Stopping Us Now Take these two with an extremely large pinch of salt! Could of other tid-bits: Rodney Jerkins gave an interview in in late 1998 saying he had had dinner with two of the Spice Girls (probably Emma and Mel C as they were both the active ones during that time) in London and that he was going to London to in January/February 1999 to record some songs with them. You can find the newsreport on Spicenews Jan 1999 page. I think this is the first time I hear about these recordings sessions.... Later in February 1999, Mel C states that the third Spice Girls album will be out in June 1999, saying they have already 'done most of the album'.... that's f***ing insane lol Maybe they did work on quite a few demos in the following sessions: 1998, August: Nashville with Biff/Rowe 1998, Oct-Nov: USA with Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis and Dublin with Biff/Rowe 1999, Jan-Feb: Rodney Jerkins Gosh I really wish we knew more lol
