I do love this song, and have included it in my 2026 playlist which I often play. It's always a great vibe! I'm a bit shocked at just how low the streams are for it though... She is on 165,000 views on YouTube after two weeks, and around 400,000 on Spotify.. that's very low even for her standards. Would be nice if she performs it somewhere that is visible? Jools Holland is back on soon, it would be great to have her there again

Since it is an independent label, it might be that she chose not to as to not get those low numbers out there?... That could very easily be the case...

So she is #98 with 1,983 sales taking up Sweat to 21,421 total so far I think it is safe to say that it is already her highest selling since Beautiful Intentions?... Or maybe her previous album sold similarly over time... but it's impressive for an artist like her

I guess we're only guessing here but I think IRM is really attached to that film. But sure due to her previous sales you would guess she would have done better than Emma anyway, but that's not what I was saying lol Either way the public was kind of done with the Spices by then, these two singles were pretty much the last mainstream success that any of them had solo. Both were just insanely catchy songs with heave promotion, Geri's was aided even more by the film. I don't think that's a wild think to suggest lol

It's Raining Men was also part of a huge film's soundtrack that year which included the song in a pivotal moment in the film. Emma did not have that kind of backing for her song. Maybe if It's Raining Men didn't have that backing, it would have sold similar to Emma's, specially considering that since after those two releases neither of them managed to cross the 100k mark again lol

It was midweek #37 which is a massive improvement from her previous album's already (both Melanie C and Version of Me where already out of the Top100 during the midweeks). Clearly the 'delays' on shipping for a lot of the items where a clever engeneering to ensure that the album would have at least another week or so in the charts ( I can't prove this is the case, just a supposition that has been talked about here and across the other forums ). Obviously streaming numbers will come in and she is bound to fall lower than that position, and who knows how much she is actually selling physically and downloads. What is your guess?

Yeah for me there are three big hits whose sales seem somewhat too low for how big they felt at the time: Mel B's I Want You Back, Emma's What I Am and What Took You So Long... They were EVERYWHERE and got to #1 and #2 but yet somehow their sales were really lacking... It's odd...
