  1. No, no, she was just a PUPPET back then - she didn't really mean what she said/sung ( everything she said to the press was carefully orchestrated by Jive after all) + she did exactly what her parents etc wanted which was exactly what Jive wanted ( they created the whole sexualized SCHOOLGIRL image to flog their product and BOY was it a successful as Coke's PR - an eminently suitable comparison as Britney was a wholly manufactured product NOTHING at ALL of substance from herself - just Jive's idea of what would sell ( the music being secondary to an extent). Fast forward to NOW and SHE ( NOT her parents , NOT her record company, NOT her fans desperate to keep their all consuming obsession fed) really controls her own destiny - SHE decided to make a NEW ALBUM only after months out of being in hospital, as any shrink with integrity would agree with. SHE decided to do MASSIVE WORLD TOUR JUST a year after having a LIFE threatening and LIFE altering breakdown. Yes now she speaks with her own mind and FROM the heart - complete sincere considered integrity - just look at her concern for her fans' when she told them as part of her entertainer capacity at the tour stop where the smoke delayed the start of the performance ; "PLEASE, DON'T SMOKE CANNABIS !!!!" http://209.85.12.227/431/162/emo/megamanson.gif Poor cow -With such a lack of brain cells (+ on top of that her mental illness) she never had much of a chance but to be used and abused by people throughout her whole life :(
  2. From someone who thought now nowhere else do they have success comparable to that in the UK - they have notably managed MORE than just beat the UK positions they enjoyed better chart stability too! Love etc actually moved UP 3 places - apparently quite rare for PSB singles nowadays (like in the UK). Also just read that YES has a good chance of staying in the Top 10 (german) album chart following it debut position - regardless its looking to have MUCH better stability than in the UK (album chart). I knew Germany used to be where they've had the most success throughout their career but it faded over the last few albums - seems like a return to form in a big way over there PS On germany's airplay chart 'love etc' continues to climb - currently @ #24 taken from; http://www.radiocharts.com/html/charts_de_main.htm
  3. I can't BELIEVE some of the 'young uns' here even KNOW who PSB are given their past decade or so of mainstream inactivity (1 week "peak then plummet" in; top 20 singles/top 10 albums)never mind liking their new song. Or is it just that the current PSB nostalgia fest of the 'old codgers' here is unavoidable? ;)

imo They do - they are basically still relatively new artists wrt huge mainstream success UNLIKE GA. KoL may not be new per se but they have never experienced mainstream success to this level with this album + its singles. The further into a mainstream 'pop' career familiarity breeds not contempt but rather apathy/indifference (with an increasing number of people over time). When something is new to people/a fresh experience generally it has a bigger potential audience/pool of people that can be drawn to it - a major reason why (mainstream) pop careers become increasingly difficult to maintain (especially with the amount of competition/choice around in the present era), even if the musically quality remains constant or returns. IMO the rare as hens teeth Pop(as opposed to Rock) star careers i can think of that have lasted decades for at least 1 reason is they have tried to deal with the familarity (causing apathy) to some extent with (relatively) huge/frequent changes in image, sound etc - however even though the charts had a different nature decades ago they have never again achieved the success of their early years (of mainstream success) when despite huge albums sales a (post album ) 3rd , 4th singles would still be a huge seller sometimes even the final single release could be bigger (sales and/or position) than previous single(s) from the parent album.
  5. Nah not convinced of ANY of your logic here - as usual imo its too selective with the details (or lack of familiarity with uk charts/pop culture?) eg in the uk, generally, tours for well established acts seems to have fleeting if much impact at all on album sales (touring more valuable for the fan base pleasing/strengthening i'd say)- granted Britneys has had such an exceptional absence from touring in comparison so its more a unique/ unknown. ...of course this criticism depends on the existence of my rationality, so for the record i'd have to say i think its more likely the opposite of your predictions here will occur. PS. Could i make a request for MORE space for sig pics in this forum as my most subtle modest pic wouldn't even fit :( .......(AND i can ONLY make it to London + Back from here in Scotland while the 52kbps dial up connection downloads ONE page :( :( :( ),,,,, CHEERS!
  6. Yeah made all the more OBVIOUS by Jive 'braindead PROPAGANDA' HQ, when they are so desperate to deny, outside America, Circus is anything other than a perfect choice for 2nd single/irrefutabley successful follow up to genuine "MEGA hit for her since ages" (Womanizer) ... with such 'undeniable' reasoning (where the logic is so gaping its in danger of falling into itself) in bare faced EXCUSES like ; ..... CIRCUS is the FASTEST selling.............. "BRITNEY" "STUDIO" album in the "UK" SINCE ..........****drum rolls**** ....... her 2nd album "OIDIA" album.....when in chart reality, all things considered thats the equivalent achievement of taking CANDY FROM a BABY! :(
  7. FCUK the trolls! What's the point in trying to show credibility and integrity (by estimating low) when being a Britney fan thats gonna be as believable as Britney's miming. lmfao.

Well you (or hopefully a friend ) could burn the download onto CD etc ;) I agree when it comes to physical vinyl, i agree there is NOTHING like it for time consuming changing of diff trks from your collection
  9. Given that she is only only female Pop star of her size/career length never to win a serious Grammy or Brit best act/artist/album has she won an equivalent award in another country with a significant Market size ?
  10. It "goes without saying" Britney fans are renown for not giving a toss about credibility but for any NON Britney loons (new to chart knowledge) reading; CERTIFICATION/SHIPPED(to shops) sales and RETAIL sales (to public)ARE NOT the same thing eg Madges "Hard Candy" album (in UK) SHIPPED Platinum on RELEASE despite its flop opening week of LESS than 100k and catastrophic sales crash to a couple of 10Ks the following week. In summary given its current limp chart run. Circus is highly unlikely to sell much more than Blackout.....-SOME COMEBACK Brit's PUPPET STRING PULLERS! ;)

 - might an alternative be the 'old' 'browser time out' or something like ( in my experience the screen remains blank indefinately after hitting 'add reply' button - moving off the page, refreshing etc when you check the thread that post wasn't added) ------------------------------------------------------ Since Spice Girls fans (who naturally only have the bands history left now)are going off topic - thought i would similarly mention Kylie also has another single close to (but will never make imo) a Million seller....well OK i'm being a little bit economical with the truth - it was the Xmas ballad with Jason (Donovan) "Especially for you" - though Jason only reached a Kylie degree of single late 80's pop success with his 2nd solo release after EFY (in '89). Unsurpringly i think Mr Pete Waterman claimed it was a million seller and looking at its late 80's Xmas chart run that seems a possibility - but all the data i've seen puts its at ~950k (or a bit less?) Unlike cgyoomh (and its iconic video surely part + parcel of its million seller status especially given it was 'just' over a million) imo EFY falls under having another DRAW unrelated to POP music, - the are they? aren't they? romantically involved in real life like their characters famous story arc in 'Neighbours' which with the relatively unsophisiticated PR they had at the time managed remain neutral on (neither 'denial' nor 'admission') alternative 'innocent' explainations for all the suggestive evidence to the contrary being given. Think Kylie casually blabbed admission of their romance years later but by that time the reality was that Kylie was ( + always has been to some extent) a (bit of a) sex nymphomaniac - "just dating" as i remember her saying ALL the time between blokes ( yes her routine is "just an act" she told us but where did she get all that EXPERIENCE to draw from to make it so realistic? ) - it was no longer much of a surprise given the 'intense' relationship (K/J) rumours at the time suggested it was :D

Earth calling Tyler...come in from planet brit fanatic please.....your reality'o'meter is dangerously into the RED!!! 75K at @4 on an Xmas period week is completely average i'm afraid ESPECIALLY when you consider where the record is NOW - what is AMAZING is for it to BOMB so far 2 weeks in a row with all those Xmas shoppers looking for stocking fillers, it won't be even top 20 by the end of the week given its history. I notice Jive has taught you well with all the HALF TRUTHS U R spouting here eg Why not cf 75k to her last album's opening - the one where she she was having the most NEGATIVE publicity of her career, the one released in November before the high sales Circus benefited from ie Blackout #2 = 50k !!!! 75k is hardly a massive increase considering Xmas sales + she DID promo, without those it might have even sold LESS than Blackout's opening week :o Circus + "best" together only in the mind of a LOON! fanatic - what are all these reviews saying how overfull of FILLER it is? Its hardly surprising when Jive are nothing but a sausage making manufactured 'music' factory with NO quality control - NO half taken seriously/respected mature act/artist releases a full studio album only a year after the previous one - Jive have just slapped any old SH!T together to get an albums worth of songs, so they can capatalize over "Britney - THE TRIUMPHANT RECOVERY™" (the irony being not only did they do nothing to help her in her most desperate time of need they made her worse by forcing her to keep on the tread MILL - GOD will she die if her Kids see those vids - JIVE is just pure heartless GREED + EVIL) 6 wks in the TOP 10 WOOO! WOOOOO! Perhaps you should check out how long some of Madonnas early 80 songs spent in the Top before you treated us to your convenient dearth of UK chart history (that just coincidently always puts the positive spin on Britneys despite the dismal reality ;) ) Britney came on the scene in 99 when the charts were very unstable - it only as downloads have had progressively more impact on the single charts that the nature of the chart has reversed so its not the big acheivement you are trying to make out (with your convenient Uk chart ignorance - oh you are from USA........but have been "studying" the (Britney part of) UK charts for years ) 816,000 !!!!! OMG!!!!! I'm in shock! btw her "flop" album you know when everyone hated her - 'Blackout' wasn't it... would you like to tell its equivalent number ? No, you'd prefer to be indenial as usual?! OK I'll have to deal with the "unpleasant" reality you let your life revolve around . The thing is "FLOP" Blackout SOLD 1,000,000 (yes 1 Million in its first week, last year - much more than her "COMEBACK" Circus sold). Things get BLACKER when you find there is ONLY ONE big country where Circus did sell alot more than BLACKOUT - yes her fellow trailer trash etc came out in their DROVES in the USA for her new album which sold about 500K.......As you can see if you take 500k from 816K you get NOT ALOT left to spread around the rest of the world ie Britney only sells records in the US - a "local" artist. Like in the UK, the rest of world see her for the GOSSIP column filling manufactured puppet she unbelievably STILL is...only now she is also a broken soul that will take many years away from the glare of celebrity to fix.
  13. "You're in Denial and that is final. Less drugs and drinking, is what i'm thinking." ..BUT its a relative thing - the (pre-)XMAS CHARTS are always high sales BECAUSE this is when the majority of people BUY their music AND the majority of people just like at any other time of year DO NOT take Britney seriously as a music star - ONLY a certain type of people buy a Brit album in any quantity now in the first week and thats no matter how big a single (eg Toxic) she has - unfortunately, for her continuing stable mental health, she is as much a manipulated Puppet by greedy heartless men as she ever was, now - practically NONE of her own decision making goes into "her" career which she doesn't even want herself any more (yes OF COURSE you swallow ALL their propaganda as usual - its like taking candy from a baby for her puppet masters, with their insidiousness). You had NO IDEA it would BOMB in the second week YET eg. Tyler and myself (afterall i predicted it WEEKS ago on this forum) weren't surprised . I guess HISTORY is a science U R not familiar with? Yes HOW STRANGE it defies ALL LOGIC and REASON - but it must be true if Britney fantics and their reputation and history of rationality, think so. OMG there are STOCK issues ALL over the WORLD too and despite it potentially affecting infinite other acts, BRITNEY is THE ONLY act to suffer BOMBING sales uniquely + directly from it ?????????????????? Speaking of reputations you probably aren't aware of the very unique one Spice Girl fanatics were renown for - well unique NO longer! - you are clearly chanelling the long dead spirit of SG fandom......
  14. Nah totally disagree just not enough evidence that its so 'down pat'. Whats the chance of ALL of these single chart stalwarts to ALL be producing their crappest work in the SAME time period so that it flops so badly? Also wasn't Robbie a first 'casuality' of this change - can't remember the exact single's name but it had Madonna in its song title.... Following on from what i said about how the nature of the chart effects relative chart placings I've always thought that the further away in time a chart act is from another the less direct the comparison possible eg at the time of the Beatles, yes they may have been the first + biggest *BUT* there were FAR fewer acts around they had to compete for success with ie they had a larger potential SLICE of the PIE to draw from compared to modern acts....AND not only did they have less competition from other chart acts but the choice of (paid for) entertainment around now ( especially in our IT age) dwarfs that around in the 60's so Pop itself as a pastime has a far smaller slice of the pie - less number and bigger hits perhaps for acts as more casual fans/ people have other things they prefer to spend their £££ on ( same reason why total music sales down now, overall TV viewing down etc )
  15. EXCELLENT summary quote. A trend i've noticed and thought about too - the accessabilty/form of the chart has changed - like everything eventually does with time (except perhaps time ...or may be not even that..) music artists are dependant on a chart ranking no matter how it is measured (its all relative/subjective eg how the US single chart has been linked to airplay) despite their previous history (here centred around a sustained die hard fanbase buying physical (long) after album release - last/later post album release singles giving a typical chart run of a high (~top10) entry then HUGE chart plummet next week especially from a decently (or more) selling album - as most casual interest/fans already have access to the trk on the parent album they've bought which is enough for them them w/o all the mixes etc). As long as the same rules apply to everyone its still as 'fair' as it was. Its like the opposite of the era when there was a HUGE promotional push building towards the single release date, new entrys were high and profuse but sales/position stability was low and records rarely didn't drop never mind rise. However contradictingly such a chart was better/relatively easier to produce/sustain consecutive high charting single runs though imo it made a mockery (the excruciating W***L*** springs to mind :puke2: - notice how they've stopped releasing as many post album release singles - i bet they will split before they break their chart run further (if they already haven't that is :cheer:) ) of those acts that obtained similar succesive (top10,20 etc) chart runs in the 80s/early 90s where gaining a top 10 etc place was much harder as a record usually reached its peak usually from RISING the following week after being a new entry - thus the potential longer/stable chart run for more sales (depending sales per relative position) than a single with a corresponding highest chart position in the late 90s/early. 00s

As usual BLINDED FANATICS put the major blame on the record company, CERTAIN a new one will make all the difference as they could never except their infallible ICON is the one whose loosing the plot (after all they are the only ones that are not shocked by her chronic poor health, 'body dysmorphic disorder' body) - if the artist wont or cant promote its puts a huge dent in the Rec co.s potential, ESPECIALLY if it happens over the longterm eg When was the last time Madonna made a PROPER studio video with BUDGET FOR ALL the single releases from one album (or EVEN MORE THAN JUST THE FCUKING FIRST 2 !!!! ).... EXACTLY too busy satiating her BOTTOMLESS GREED (no she's never changed her priorities in life, it was just all empty rhetoric for attention as usual - she's alway loves TALKING BULL merely for shock and attention ) where all the money's at - TOURING. She most certainly WONT because making the most $$$$$$$ has always been her top priority, so has getting attention but what better way of achieving BOTH THOSE than performing to an ARENA full of ADORING FANS and charging them $$$$$$$ for the priviledge :) ! Her fading star (since she depended alot on her sex appeal/physical appearance for promotion which has now gone (re youth of todays not delusional 55 year old queens) aswell as the CLASSIC TUNEFULL POP music instead of the desperate career resuscitation where the style of the music is now given more credence than the majority of actual tunes themselves - PATRICK LEONARD now there WAS a guy who could write TUNES for M!!! :-)) makes her pop stardom a poor 2nd now, surely the reason why she just doesn't care the way she used to about it yet when its comes to touring its shows she still has plenty of potential DRIVE she just can't be ARSED to promote her music anymore anywhere near the same extent anymore - touring is much more lucrative (but not so good at promoting albums (to new audience etc)) - the RECORD company doesn't GET (much of) a LOOK in! Also that was Kylie's 4th single (and FORTH studio video - despite the fact Kylie was touring at the time) from 'X' . I expect this is peculiar to the UK but its the same reason imo why the Justin single was a huge success yet the album was a previously unimaginable relative DISASTER ( all the kids that bought the single weren't interested enough in M to buy her album) especially when you must factor in HOW PHENOMINALLY SUCCESSFULL COADF was everywhere - worldwide sales -so the ACTUAL the relative amount in popularity she has lost is like her walking off the edge of a CLIFF - this is now the SECOND time she's managed to CRASH her pop career after a HUGELLY succesfull reinvention ('American Sh!te' killing ROL's career R-E-V-I-V-A-L). Unlike like Kylie with SA (then CGYOOMH career revival on career revival to another level) Madge has never gained a new generation of (young) die hard fans with the COADF revival - you never see tonnes of kids buying M records or on forums in general like with Kylie, just the same now mainly middle aged die hards (who are less likely to have picked up IT and downloading) sure they might want to buy the physical but HOW DIFFICULT is it to buy a physical now compared to 10 EVEN 5 years ago ? How many record shops still stock singles - how much stock(amount, variety) do they now carry - how prominent is the singles section? cf that nice gimmick of the 'shocking PINK' 7" vinyl of IMA and the Kylie queens go crazy for it - and being overall a slightly younger generation of (first generation) diehards IT is second nature for the majority and its easy to order it online :-) Yes it was B - listed on R1 and R2 <at least B> at least, however given the nonexistent airplay it sugests DJs didn't play it to the potential of the listings.

I highly doubt it will be as high by the the end of the year (the only point when quoting the YTD has much credibility) after all the albums at the top of the chart approaching the Xmas/Year end shift a major slice of TOTAL yearly album sales, considering DOYS recent chart trajectory (which needs more than the excuse of "Xmas sales" pushing it down). Mentioning which i find it surprising this has had no mention on this forum yet or is your fanatiscism such that significant negative events are ignored and the truth is denied? Is the single different enough to a appeal to a new audience beyond the usual Oasis sound to REVERSE (as oposed to slow down) the collapse of the album's sales over the last couple of weeks? (just like a less acute version of the last single's 'chart plummet' - i suspect Oasis' appeal among the general buying music public is from the dedicated (stadia filling) fan base they have formed through their previous remarkable longterm success rather than any casual buyers/ new fans)
  18. ima posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Tyler the degree of your fanatiscism here is just making you loose sight of rationality/objectivity imo. You are painting her as someone with whiter than whiter morality and you should know thats utter sh!te with sort of 'normal' young woman things she did behind all the "GOOD CHRISTIAN living" PR BULL Jive actively pumped out about her ( + she agreed to cover their lies) . Just because fate has made her suffer horrifically does not make all her faults VANISH eg. She lost custody of her kids FOR THEIR well being considering how her behaviour had deterioated and being commited to hospital - any parent so mentally ill they can hardly look after their own health SHOULD NOT BE LOOKING AFTER anyone else even if they are their own kids. Her illness is rooted to fate, being unlucky with Mother nature (eg like someone young who has to inject insulin to manage their diabetes) - it no-one person's particular fault that she became ill and its AMPLIFIED results on her life, she has a natural susceptibility to stress etc (which she will have to manage competantly to survive - and considering shes just gone back into the lions den by actively courting fame + press intrusion which was responsible for aggravating her mentality in the first place, it doesn't seem hopefull she's learned much lessons to save herself from the same fate :( ). You seem to make Kevin out to be "Mr Evil" and Brit to be "Ms helpless victim" when in reality from evidence its seems at least POSSIBLE, Britney out of BANKRUPT morallity ACTIVELY courted Kevin despite she was fully aware he was a father with a familly and kids - AS IT TAKES TWO to TANGO = Brit's conscience could have kept whats in her pants under control when she knew as a family man he was 'off limmits' (eg how might the childrens psychology in later life be affected loosing their DAD at that age). This may be human nature but that does not excuse the moral irresponsibility and thoughtlessness of it all and the potential damage it can do the kids minds and the REST OF THEIR FUTURE - all because Brit selfishly wanted one bloke when she could have had countless free and single men - BAD GIRL!

AGREED but Oasis UNLIKE their idols the BEATLES have not only lost their mass appeal (watch that album PLUMMET despite any further single released(unlikely as they will MEGA FLOP and wreck their chart run further) but their credibility ( the Beatles experimented SUCCESFULLY eg SPLHCB while the general PUBLIC think Oasis continue to constantly turn out emminently missible insipid cod psychadelica - the only progression they make is that on each follow up album their original hit formula becomes progressively more watered down + turgid - whether thats because we become increasingly tired of hearing the same couple of tunes endlessly recycled or *NOEL* only ever had limmited 1 trick pony talent we may never know......BUT one thing is certain NOASIS fanatics are as DUMB + arrogant as living historical relic NEADERTHAL Liam with such irrational continued adoration

;) Either; 1) You have a dodgy dictionary, theasaurus etc or 2) I have a a dodgy dictionary etc <or for any pedants; 3) neither reasons 1) nor 2)> Since AFAIK the word ' Great ' has absolutely no synonyms relating to the following; I can't believe the list has changed that much since the start of the year and/or due to the only 10 years :teresa: or so AFTER everyone one else realised Ms Stevens would most likely never have a Multi - Decade worldwide music career, her fanatics ( who delusion enabled them to see she possed remarkable traits/talents OVER + ABOVE ! her obvious aesthetic appeal) have FINALLY :cheer: admitted (after the 50 millions or so chances /lifelines she was given over and above practically any other comparible (stage of carrer/success) pop artist, with similar career decline, for rescesucitation purposes) to themselves that her Record Company had OBVIOUSLY ditched here like a dose of Epsom salts after such (a consecutive series of) spectacularly flopping records + her Music career has loooong since been irreversebley dead.

Reading some of these predictions you wouldn't think HARD CANDY ( an OFFICIAL ALBUM release SOLEY from ESTABLISHED recording artist MADONNA) had bombed out of the top 20 just over a month after release to the GENERAL PUBLIC despite the fact it is a direct follow up to a monstrously successful album (COADF),would you?? What about the idea of Mamoth selling hit singles killing off their parent album such is the reluctance of (comercial) radio stations to stop playing the MEGA hit for artist's follow up (and they generally won't play 2 tracks from the same artist to the same ('A-list') degree).Remember the release of Kylies CGYOOMH follow up, IYE had to have its release much delayed to the original plan before 'Head became the MEGA hit it was.I'm not sure but they may even have 'deleted' it in the end to try to finish it off as it was no longer selling the parent album(Fever) just getting in the way of IYE. If 4 minutes was mainly bought by non-Madonna fans as the contradicting single and album performances suggest the demand for the new M track might not transfer from 4 mins still being in demand from the (STR8 young imo) majority who would never normally be seen dead buying her stuff (eg even 'word of mouth',album sharing btwn friends as a way of exposing the new songs to the unconvinced) has not had any positive effect given the accelerating collapse of sales )

So you've had a brain all this time but been acting dumb to try be on the same wavelength as some of the Brocolli in here such as on this very thread AND additionally to make ME look STUPID   <sorry>. No wonder you make factual mistakes with all the futile stress of trying to bash some, INDEED ANY sense into them. Ah how wonderful it is to be so conceited and ignorant at once that they can scoff at proven life (quality) saving Medical science - they would save our NHS MILLIONS by killing each and every patient in sight even if they had come in for an ingrown toenail. You would allow a patient who only a few months ago had a serious life threatening heartattack to engage in activities that have the potential for stress "merely because you do not know how the patient 'intimately' feels that you've put a patient at high risk of horrific death from your ignorant beliefs - since when does a patient make such a choice on their own therapy/drug chioice anyway for eg. Whether its a serious Heart Attack or acute period of mental illness like Brit strict guidelines are layed down to reduce the risk of relapse and death but because you are so arrogant in your DANGEROUS beliefs you are resonsible for any pain, misery and death such ignorance causes. You don't let a mental health patient who has been 'recently' institutionalized to have complete control of their faculties for a long time BECAUSE they aren't in complete control of their mind themselves or is such common sense just too complicated for you?

I thought the time had long since past iTunes had any significant overall share of the download market? (Apple's existence is built on deceit, urban myths and propaganda that would make New Labour blush - naturally the last people they want to know the truth is their actual customer base - just look at the d(i)rePHONE ) Comparing the official download chart with progress and positioning of songs here is like looking at charts from 2 different countries, wouldn't water diviners make a more efficient system for getting an idea about dl.s throughout the week?
  25. PARDON! I hope you aren't suggesting the talented (at having success with no conventional talent at all) Geri has no fan base - IN CASE YOU FORGET she gave up POP music on purpose, just recently, despite millions of her fans crys worldwide to start her career as a fiction novel writer as in demand as JK Rowling i'll have you know!!!!!!!!!! :o Yes how anyone should get more bad press than that hopelessly shallow, fame obsessed, oxygen waster is shocking - its just Ms Twatham is a superior liar and recognizes superior PR were as Geri's embarrassing antics and delusion from her desperation of fame are at least honest.
