the gaming thread
Only certain games are better on PC imo. Its having a resurgence with the likes of the Starcraft II out right now and Microsoft supporting it again with Age of Empires online, Microsoft Flight and returning the Fable series to PC. But consoles have always ruled for me, I thought I would want to upgrade my PC for Battlefield 3 but now even that is coming to consoles :o The new consoles will launch at 2012 at the very earliest. I think Nintendo might be the first to launch despite being market leader myself. Sony have stated that they intend to be the last to launch but I don't believe they'll wait too long. They'll be within a few months of each other in 2012/13. The new handhelds are coming now though with 3DS set for release in at least one market this year (probably Japan) and is looks like its launching in the UK in March. Too many PSP2 rumours going about right now to really know what's what though  Late 2011 methinks. Whether it is Android partnership and/or has touch screen technology we'll have to see.

Nick Clegg Loses Cool With Fib Dem Voter
Nick Clegg loses his cool with Lib Dem voter Nick Clegg lost his cool with a Lib Dem voter who accused him of being on an ‘ideological crusade’ and attacking society’s poor during a heated debate at Newcastle College. The robust exchange began when Craig Toft, who voted Lib Dem in this year’s General Election, told Nick Clegg that he would not be doing so again because the Deputy Prime Minister was slavishly following the Tory agenda. When Mr Toft, 33, attempted to question Mr Clegg about the part the Lib Dems are playing in the coalition, he was continually interrupted by the Deputy PM. Mr Toft, from Wallsend, North Tyneside, asked: 'I'm just wondering how you intend to persuade future Liberal Democrat voters to vote for you at the next election now that you are part of a coalition that's seemingly on an ideological crusade to attack the weakest in society and make them pay for the decisions and greed of those at the top in the last ten years or so years?' Mr Clegg replied: 'Tell me where the ideological crusade is?' Mr Toft countered: 'Well, the Tory rhetoric that we've heard from Cameron.' Mr Clegg’s hackles were clearly raised as he replied: 'No, no, no, don't tell me about the rhetoric of other parties, tell me what's happening to suggest to you there is a crusade to hit the weakest?' Mr Toft attempted to answer, but was cut short: 'The rhetoric around...' 'No, no, what's happening to hit the weakest?' Mr Clegg fired back. 'In the last two or three weeks you hear David Cameron talking about...' Mr Clegg interrupted again and repeated his question: 'No, no, no, what's happening to the weakest that tells you there's a crusade against the weakest?' Mr Toft this time was allowed to answer in full: 'Housing benefit cuts; intentions around jobseekers allowance, moving people around JSA and basically saying to people that you need to find a job right away and there aren't any jobs to be able to do it. 'It's easy to take decisions against people that don't necessarily have a bigger political voice such as yourselves or the ruling elite in London.' Mr Clegg, in a lengthy reply, accused Mr Toft’s argument as being lazy and misleading, and stated that there was ‘no evidence to the case’. Say hello to the leader of the Conservative Democrats. Can he even believe he said all this after what he campaigned for? Source: http://www.metro.co.uk/news/838619-nick-cl...h-lib-dem-voter

Football Discussion [old]
Giggs and Scholes, a combined age of 71 but still among the best players in the league :D Berba was fantastic and will probably contribute to over a quarter of our goals again like last season (really don't get the hate from people including our own fans for him tbh) Feel sorry for Roo though, really lacking confidence right now and just looks desperate to prove himself, he just needs one goal and I'm sure he'll be fine though.

New Premier League rules
I suppose this should hopefully help the competitiveness of the league. Man City have a 37 man squad for example  And to trim it they're planning to get rid of players like Ireland and Bellamy and just keep their 'big names'.

David Cameron re-writes History.....
I'm not sure he even realises how many people he offended by saying that. This has to be the worst and most disrespectful thing he has ever said and I'm pretty sure quite a lot of war veterans vote for him as well!

Departments To Plan 40% Cuts
Exactly, think about the money we could make if we abolish our royal family and open the palaces to the public!

South Africa 2010
The battle of the virgins! :D Personally due to family reasons I want Holland to win.

South Africa 2010
People who used to watch Setanta Sports may remember Special 1 TV which was a hilarious show that took the p*** out the latest football news. BBC made the great devision to take it on and it's been back for the World Cup on BBC Three. Personally I think this has been the best episode so far even if Puppet Ronnie (the best character) doesn't make an appearance. T_rJyi5R5C8 Leave your comments to get it commissioned for the Premier League season! This is too good for it to go away again.

iTunes Chart: July 2010
I don't get it either. But then again they're male that's what happens around here. I love it how the same people are praising the new Alexandra Burke single which I seriously thought was a joke at first.

Spanish economic crisis
Yet they actually got a lot MORE votes than last time. Labour + Lib Dem > Conservative Is what they're getting at, the majority of people voted for those two and by doing so voted against these cuts.

England vs Germany
The Maradona factor is making a lot of people 'like' them. I agree they'll most likely be found out because of their defence.

South Africa 2010
Haha! Italians complaining about people rolling around on the floor eh? :kink: This is the first time that the two finalists have been knocked out at the group stage :o And the first time that Italy haven't made the knockout stages since 1974!

England vs Slovenia
No we only would have needed to score one more goal. The scores for each team were England 1-1 USA USA 2-2 Slovenia England 0-0 Algeria England 1-0 Slovenia USA 1-0 Algeria USA: Goals scored: 4 Goals against: 3 Goal difference +1 England: Goals scored: 2 Goals against: 1 Goal difference: +1 The goal difference was exactly the same for both of them so USA won the group on goals scored which comes into play if the goal difference is the same. If England had scored one more goal then their goal difference would have been +2 thus they would have won the group.

Jedward - All The Small Things // Planet Jedward
Not as terrible as I thought it would be, certainly better than that new Diana Vickers single that just sounds the same as her last one

England vs Slovenia
Apparently Fabio already knows his penalty takers! I still trust Lamps despite his recent misses. Not sure about Carragher after his miss at the last World Cup and what he said about it as well. (apparently he took one due to Tord Grip's flawed research that he took one in Istanbul) Rooney I hope he can take the pressure, he has a habit of scoring the rebound for us which isn't useful in a shootout.
