THANK YOU All these people who think it's 'such a unique song' (no one here has said that but I've seen it elsewhere) need to have a listen to them tbh. Gaga gaining on Joe I see! :o Glad to see Rage holding up a lot better than I thought they would!

  6. I suggest you do a bit of research on the band's past :D
  7. Meanwhile we'd love to laugh but we got convingly beaten 3-0 :(
  8. Lol that's just to fool gullable people to make a bit of money
  9. *achoo* Not female artist or not from reality show *achoo* *achoo* *achoo* Actually wrote the song *achoo* Will be (and has been) around for more than five minutes *achoo* *ACHOOOOOOOOO!*
  10. Either this is another case of people thinking Cowell is higher up in Sony then he actually is or Cowell and Clifford's next card is trying to manipulate people into thinking Cowell gets money from this despite this not being the point of the campaign.
  11. Yeah that's why Joe's single is reduced to 29p in a lot of places, yeah erm.. makes sense :)
  12. This song was one of the defining songs at my first year of Uni (2005-6) as it was always the song that got me on the dancefloor on the rock night we had at our SU! All my friends love the song and knew the words! Plenty of people regard it as a classic and I'd be so happy if a song as good as this somehow did manage to get to be christmas #1. I'm one of those people who wanted Gary Jules to be #1 in 2003 and didn't believe he'd do it but he did so who knows?

  15. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: This just makes me support the campaign even more! Has MUSIC really come to this? I'm sure Tom wouldn't like reading a lot of points in this thread! Since when did the campaign become anything to do with MONEY and Sony? It seems ever since the late 90's when all these manufactured groups took over the people who are in it for the MONEY rather than their PASSION about music are the norm and no one can see through them and when a campaign to put some excitement into the christmas charts with a campaign to give money to Shelter alongside it comes along people are talking about where the money for the song goes even when Tom stated all the money the band gets from the song will go to charity as well! Then again this is buzzjack so you'll go and worship Cheryl Cole who clearly ain't bothered about 'her' music at all :)
  16. It looks like we may have the biggest sheep of all on our side :o http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sun_t...ime-at-all.html Help me! I agree with The Sun on something :(
  17. And people are not TOLD TO buy the X Factor single? I love the song and want it to be #1 hence why I'm downloading it because I KNOW the song and LIKE THE SONG and don't want a song at #1 because 'they won a TV show' **HURRAY I wonder what dreary bland and boring ballad we'll download next year from some boring no personality X Factor winner that most likely won't get past two albums! I'll download it regardless how good the song is! The excitement is killing me..... <_< ** To quote Rage themselves: WAKE UP!
  18. Well whatever you think about it it's already doing exactly what the campaign was aiming for: Bringing some excitement into who will be christmas #1! And those 'morons' are most likely people who've seen the publicity it's getting and want to see what the fuss is all about! Just like downloading something when it's played in the background on X Factor  Yes you do have a point and I did make a point myself that it's basically putting the X Factor sheep into a different pen but at least most of people actually know what the song sounds like and if it's any good unlike people who have already pre-ordered the single  I would have liked other tactics then this to get a different song to #1 but giving the X Factor a taste of it's own medicine in a way seems to be the only choice. Oh and Tom Morello doesn't seem to have anything against the campaign :D : @tmorello Over half a million people sign to get RATM for xmas NO.1 instead of Simon Cowell's reality tv winner! http://tinyurl.com/y8oxvq8
  19. Well as someone who's been checking the group and posted quite a lot in it if it was anything to do with Sony I'd be very suprised tbh. But the fact that Rage are a band who don't want to be commercial makes it even better! The best thing to even get close to keeping X Factor off #1 would be someone who really doesn't give a f*ck about 'number ones'. As John who started the campaign himself said this campaign isn't a 'stop Simon Cowell' campaign or about money it's about making the battle for christmas #1 EXCITING again and possibly having something different then the X Factor winner at #1 EVERY YEAR. No one who's closely following the campaign really cares where the money is going to (apart from the little campaign for each member to give £5 to Shelter in the group where £5,000 has been raised so far) but it's about getting a song we all like at #1 which unfortunately won't happen but I say if we can beat Bulls On Parade's peak of #8 (their biggest hit in this country) then it'd be very successful as we'll have a brilliant song in the top ten for christmas instead of the same old predictable songs!
  20. Congrats! :cheer: I hear you were hand picked too! :D
  21. Mass tweet at 2pm! #ratm4xmas DO IT!
  22. It works both ways as some people have jumped the gun and it's #80 on iTunes  Of course it's most likely not gonna happen but it's gonna be so good to have a song like this in the top 40 for christmas instead of the same old same old! Still as I think I've said before whoever wins now will have sales more similar to Leon Jackson than to Alexandra or Leona so who knows? There could be sheep for Rage or the Muppets just like the X Factor as the public are easily swayed so it would be nice if they all went into a different pen this year! Are you that narrow minded that you've never heard it?

Ain't that true :D Joe for me. Won't last more than two albums though.
  24. How did I know this place would react like this to the prospect of this happening? Unfortunately this is unlikely to happen but with the publicity it's getting now and fact that whoever wins this year it's looking like they'll have closer to Leon Jackson sales than Alexandra Burke sales so who knows eh? Rage Against The Machine are the PERFECT act for this imo. I.e. A band that anyone who eats the giant spoon that comes through the TV is elergic too! (By this I mean people who buy the same old bland ballads and half arsed up-tempos that are performed and released by acts who are on the show and the has-beens who come on for a leg-up (barring a few like Lady GaGa's fantastic performance last night) My main point is that Rage Against The Machine are the OPPOSITE of any X Factor contestant or group because they're in the music businnes because they love making music and don't care about 'Selling millions!11!111ELEVEN!11!' meanwhile the majority of people who go onto the X Factor go on it because they want to make money and be famous and a lot of the time don't really have much passion for music like Rage do. X Factor makes great TV but some of us sick and tired of it churning out rubbish excuses for 'pop stars' and ruining the christmas #1 so if the internet generation can stand against it then it'll be a great end to the final chapter of music in this decade. :D
