David Cook has sold 715,000 in 5 weeks. Getting so close to platinum. So thrilled.

I hope these projections are correct as that will bring David Cook´s total to 700,000 in 5 weeks.

Not to mention Shayne Ward´s 730,000 for the first week and 1.4 million total. Also downloads cost 1 pound as against physical singles which are 4 pounds, so which are more profitable? I wish they would return to totally new singles, not covers as That´s My Goal was an entirely new song and reached many people in different countries. Even in China at the Beijing olympics it was included in the album for the Games. In the USA singles are mostly downloads and overseas fans cannot purchase physicals or downloads and yet they still go platinum.

So pleased to see David Cook still in the top 10 with his magic album. After his performance in Orlando with Natasha Bedingfield and others when he sang Man in the Box, I just knew he would sell very well this week again. Total now nearly 600,000 in 4 weeks (583,000) and A GOLD RECORD with platinum on the way.

David Cooks album - sensational (Bar ba Sol) 10 songs of the 12 are written or co-written by him. Sensational songwriter/lyricist. Have already ordered from USA but ordered from UK too to give as Christmas gifts.

David Cooks album has been in the top 10 for 3 weeks and is set to sell 100,000 again this week. His album is outstanding and what is even more exciting is that he wrote or co-wrote 10 of the 12 tracks. He is a marvellous songwriter and his lyrics are poetical. I am so excited about his album. In 3 weeks he went gold and this week if the HDD is correct the total will be 600,000.

What did Shayne Ward Breathless sell week ending 30 December 2007? If NO. 10 sold 44,000 and he was No. 7. ?

He has a fabulous personality, is down to earth, AS NOTED BY FIONA PHILLIPS who said others should take a leaf out of his book) and I have seen him on stage. Talk about lack of charisma and you have the vibratto tongue tingling Miss Leona and her covers of ballads. IMO and many others. So to each his own. You stick to yours and I will stick to mine.

I am replying to this post and that is why I am in this thread. Like it or not. I am just letting you know that Shayne is GREAT. In another league in fact.

Shayne to me is the most outstanding talent. I have travelled all over the world and been to concerts everywhere and seeing him at Wembley this year, I was amazed at how talented he is. He has the whole package, the voice, the looks and the dancing ability and he holds the audience in the palm of his hand. It was the best concert I have ever been to. You should be proud he is British instead of carping about him. Truly, his album is the most delightful album. It has something for everyone. After listening to his album and then Celine Dion, which was so dreary, I was delighted to get back to some wonderful music. I heard him sing acapello at the Children´s Hero award and people were crying it was so good. To compare him to the others is laughable. He sold 800,000 the first week and 1.3 million total. (yes I checked) He was certified platinum the first week of his new album. I cannot wait to see him live at his next tour which I have booked for and will fly out to see and music is my passion. I am not a teenager but a mature music lover, trained in opera. So thank heavens he has so many fans who really appreciate him.

In a moment of madness I was tempted to buy this and I find it so dreary. I think I have learnt my lesson not to be tempted by the Amazon and CD Wow offers and to buy what I like.

You are not correct. Dermott repeated that the other day - he sold over 300,000 the first day. The first total was over 750,000 from Sunday to Thursday.

You will note I corrected myself to read the total was 1.2 million which is not far from 1.1 million.

Shayne had sold 350,000 the first day and a total of 1,200,000 the fourth higest selling single). Leona was the fastest selling female. To be honest as much as I loved Rhydian´s voice, (I really did), I did not find the magic this year.

I would predict Shayne Ward´s next single to be number 1. He is gaining momentum. Tell Him will for sure be No. 1 .

Thanks for the welcome and the reply. I am so pleased he has only dropped 1 point. Shayne is nearly platinum and was still No. 1 in Ireland for the third week. Also doing wonders in Asia. Without much promotion here, he is self- selling. That is very promising.

Can you please tell me Shayne Ward´s Breathless sold 75,000 last week and how many points down this week? I absolutely love his new album. There is something for everyone. And the track Tell Me is the one I would choose for next single. A classical pearl modernised into a gem of a song.
