Streaming Services Chart Discussion
Or poor planning if Apple can’t fulfil all those pre-orders. How did EMI cope with 1,000,000 advance orders in 1963 for I Want To Hold Your Hand? There were no computers to sort out the logistics and fewer motorways in England. Progress indeed.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
What album do you refer to? Beatles may not be no. 1 because of the non-availability of product - it is sold out everywhere. Will stock be replenished? Those 7,000 plus sales from Thursday would have been a great boost. Blame Apple for that mess.

New UK award for artists with a billion career streams
You are correct!!! My bad maths.

The Beatles - 'Now and Then' predictions
Another chart rule to consider. On 4/12/2010 a Beatles box set consisting of Beatles 1962-1966 and Beatles 1967-1970 entered the Top 100 albums charts at no. 59. Will the 2023 4 CD box set and the 6 LP box set be combined as a re-entry, and added to the above chart run of 5 weeks? The OCC would hardly divide sales by 2 and add them to the individual Red and Blue albums?

Perhaps some streaming platforms have different data collection days around the world and maybe their week starts on a Thursday instead of a Friday. I’m sure there is a good reason why APPLE decided on a UK release on a Thursday.

New UK award for artists with a billion career streams
Global music icons The Rolling Stones have been announced as the latest recipient of a BRIT Billion Award by the BPI, the representative voice for the UK’s world leading record labels and music companies. The BRIT Billion Award celebrates The Rolling Stones’ incredible career, spanning seven decades. Last week, they celebrated their 14th UK Number 1 album with Hackney Diamonds, their first album of new material in 18 years. In reaching the landmark of one billion career UK streams, as calculated by the Official Charts Company, the British band became the longest-active artist to receive the prestigious Award, with their most-streamed hits including Paint It, Black, (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, and Start Me Up. The Rolling Stones are the 25th artist to receive a BRIT Billion Award, which was officially launched in May 2023.

Christmas music 2023 news
M&S has launched a surprise Christmas TV advert featuring a star-studded cast of British household names including Hannah Waddingham, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Zawe Ashton and Tan France. The Marks & Spencer advert will run from today (November 1) and reminds viewers to put themselves first this Christmas. Set to a Ray BLK cover of Meatloaf’s I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That), the advert takes place across four different homes where the starry line-up decides which Christmas traditions they're going to embrace this year (and which ones they're going to skip).

The Beatles - 'Now and Then' predictions
What is the strategy behind a Thursday release at 2pm? Wasted sales for the following week. On iTunes you can download the 2 tracks on the single for £1.99. Some variants are already sold out on HMV.

Paul Anka - Put Your Head On My Shoulder - Rca - Silver - Single - 13.10.2023 - 14.11.2004 Originally reached no. 7 in November 1959. Why is this song more popular today than Diana which was no. 1 for 9 weeks, but has not yet been certified? Surprising.

New UK award for artists with a billion career streams
Ed Sheeran has been announced as the first British artist to receive a special-edition Gold BRIT Billion Award by the BPI, the representative voice for the UK’s world leading record labels and music companies. The Gold BRIT Billion award celebrates Ed’s landmark achievement in being the first British artist to surpass 10 billion career streams in the UK – as calculated by the Official Charts Company. Over one billion of those streams came in the last 12 months alone. He was presented the Award by musician, actor, and presenter, Jordan Stephens, most well known for being one half of Rizzle Kicks, and host of the BRITs Red Carpet Treatment Podcast. One of the UK’s most loved voices, Ed has made Official Charts history countless times, breaking records including becoming the first artist to have four albums in the Official Albums Chart Top 10 for a year, and the first British solo artist to claim a full year at No.1 across his catalogue on the Official Singles Chart. With an untarnished streak of six UK No.1 albums, seven BRIT awards, and 14 UK No.1 singles, Ed recently broke the ticket record playing his Mathematics tour for 81,000 fans at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. He currently holds three of the 10 most-streamed songs of all time with Shape of You (#2), Perfect (#3), and Bad Habits (#9). His latest album Autumn Variations dropped on 29th September and is his second this year following the chart-topping success of ‘-‘, released in May. Will there be a Platinum BRIT Billion Award for say, 20 billion career streams?

Has there ever been any other year in which an artist had 8 albums (or more) in the year end chart?
