Folk were annoyed at the Ellie song out nowhere charting at number 1. Ironic the people are silent on Kylie. The song is awful. As was Ellie’s. Hence Ellie’s song being forgotten. Kylies will be the same. Chart manipulation at its most obvious.

Everyone is excited (for a god awful song) for Kylie but let’s all wait for the week 2 drop cos all you guys be buying this week only hahaha! Ellie 2.0

Not this week. That Spotify playlist honestly is the reason why she isn’t getting top 40. Baffled as to why songs like Sabrina or Gwen are favoured…oh yeah it’s an American playlist. Chart rules need to change imo.

I still find it baffling that users on these forums don’t register that an American Spotify playlist is dictating chart positions here in the UK. Laufey? Dean Martin? The Ronettes? Sabrina Carpenter? Nat King Cole? Artists virtually with zero chart history at Xmas yet are high on the Spotify playlist. I don’t know if artists pay to be bumped up but I’d imagine if Leona was in the top 40 on that playlist (currently at number 66), we’d be celebrating British representation on the charts. Compared with Apple…where Leona is rightfully teetering Top 10 all the time. Radio play? Good. Music video charts? Good. Imagine the UK charts favouring UK talent/songs….

No chance of a top 20 given the Spotify placement - the I’d be happy with a couple weeks in the Top 40. Was going over the numbers and Leona will be near x3 Platinum for OMS next year I think. Article from OCC had her at 1.46m units on an article dated 06/12/23. Assuming that data is up to date: Chart 14/12/23 - charted at 35 est sales 17,000 (Taylor is at #33 with 17,781) Chart 21/12/23 - charted at 34 est sales 17,000 (rough est as no data for close positions) Chart 28/12/23 - charted at 32 est sales 20,000 (Laufey is at #31 with 20,582) Chart 04/01/24 - charted at 29 est sales 35,000 (Darlene is at #31 with 33,690) Estimated updated total = 1,549,000 Chart 29/11/24 - charted at 82 est sales 5,000 (rough est as no data for close positions) Chart 06/12/24 - charted at 45 est sales 14,000 (rough est as no data for close positions) Time will tell for how long it’ll take for OMS to cross x3 Platinum. Kinda frustrating as Kelly was behind Leona on that same article and she has just had her x3 Platinum announcement. Keep streaming folks :)

When is the OCC making a rule that says only UK Spotify Playlists contribute to the chart???? I doubt any Brit can decipher that Sia song and it’s lyrics.

This annoys me because Happy although it didn’t do BL 2.0, it is still one of my favourite Leona songs, vocals and video. I was at the Labrinth tour when she hit those high notes in Happy and it made me gasp every time. It was very much a solid song to lead a campaign. As agreed with radio folk etc music changed. Gaga became massive and alternative sounds were the craze. Black Eyed Peas were killing it. Kesha was brewing. If not Happy,I genuinely feel like none of Echo could have led that album campaign and a different result would happen. Yes OMH was good back in 2009 but it was not comparable to Gaga and the other hit sounds of that time. If OMH was released…it would surely alienate casual fans as literally nothing else on the album sounds like it. So would they be giving a false impression.? A new up tempo Leona……with one song that is uptempo. Lol When are Leona fans going to understand that it isn’t ONLY Simon and Nicola that have messed up at times. Leona imo was lazy in her prime. especially if you look at other up and coming artists with hits in the charts. No tours. Little promotion. Little interviews. No collaborations. No festivals(!!!!!!). I am still annoyed all these years later at how we as fans have been left aside and only ever acknowledged if and when someone feels like it…nope.

That song is not good. Wtf is going on. The voice is gone :( I guess my Leona fix will be One More Sleep only

It’s actually disgusting how much Spotify playlists that are huge in America playba part in the UK charts. Snowman by Sia is awful yet is getting crazy numbers being in the top 10 on that Spotify playlist

Well final nail in the coffin of Leonas career? Can’t even shift 1500 vinyls to get a top 100 on the uk album chart. I said I was done years ago with caring but now I’m in genuine shock and have given up. Good luck to those going to the tour. She’s now as relevant as Gabriella Cilmi was back in 2010.....
