Well done Kylie. They wouldn't have had her on if she'd missed out.

PopMaster & Ten To The Top II
Oh we didn't win a lot John, only maybe a tenner or £20 to share but because we only went in once a week the regulars got angry and could see their point of view. Mostly it was beer vouchers though so was going with my dad Sunday lunchtime to use them. DJ at one was in my class at school and he said "Oh no!!" He tried to beat us with asking years then...was funny. Won some jackpots too that had never been won. £200 once. Didn't go down well so we didn't go again. The clincher was Golden Lights, the smaller hit in 65 by Twinkle. BTW the winner in that quiz got a £1000 hi-fi and the third place was a £250 one so did okay. Hard questions and heavy rock let me down from early 70's.

PopMaster & Ten To The Top II
Today. 39 and 39. The Last Kiss, How Can I Be Sure and Daydreamer. Have to apply but it'll be the more recent ones that do me in, late 90's onwards...I know a lot but a lot escape me too. Was on a R2 pop quiz in the 80's with David Hamilton. Album for each correct. 4/5, didn't know Helen Shapiro's first UK hit, Don't Treat Me Like A Child. Before I started going to pop quizzes in pubs with an older guy who was a 50's and 60's expert in 1987, didn't know those but learnt them from him and going mainly. I knew 70's and 80's so we were virtually unbeatable. Regulars moaned so we got banned from playing. Met him when I was in a pub with my dad and he'd won 30 odd weeks running and I BEAT HIM, 20/20. Such a roar went up. So we started going round 4 nights a week. He knew which pubs had them. Won cash or beer vouchers. Then won one in Royal Hotel where we had our wedding reception. Landlady asked if I'd represent them in regional one in Sheffield. She got a bus up. I came second, £500 hi-fi. Parents went and loads of regulars. Landlady gave us a free Sunday lunch with champagne...the winner was brilliant....

2026 World Cup - Group Draw
I remember the QF in 2002 England V Brazil at 7.30am on a Friday. Watched first half at home then second half in daughter's school hall, all parents and pupils crammed in as head had wheeled in 2 TV's. Brazil won.

2026 World Cup - Group Draw
We may meet Mexico in the heat of the Azteca though in R16 if all top teams win their group and progress through R32. No Aircon there. Scotland FA not happy at getting a 2am match with Haiti and want to complain. Well I'd say their Brazil one is more anticipated. Many pubs and bars are expected to apply for an hour's extension for the Panama match. Magistrates will grant it unless there's been recent trouble, drugs or if the police object to it. BBC and ITV sport bosses meet Tuesday to decide match picks. It's thought whoever has first pick will choose England v Serbia or 1st QF which could be England - Brazil, a mouth-watering duel. 2am matches won't be too popular with them.

2026 World Cup - Group Draw
Scotland v Haiti - 2am UK time... Uruguay v Spain - a tasty fixture - 2am UK time. England KO times. 9pm v Croatia in Dallas 9pm v Ghana in Boston 10pm v Panama in New York Pubs will be packed.... Both semis and final 8pm UK time.

2026 World Cup - Group Draw
Croatia dumped us out in the Semi-Final in 2018....They're no pushover. England winning the group gives us a much harder path in knockouts than if we didn't, according to the BBC. Maybe Mexico Brazil, Argentina, Spain. Still the winners have to beat the best teams.

2026 World Cup - Group Draw
England draw: From BBC Sport. If all top seeds win their Group: R32 - 3rd place team R16 - Mexico or 3rd place team (in Mexico City) QF - Brazil (note Brazil will not play a group winner before QF) SF - Argentina (potentially!!!) Wouldn't play Spain until Final (again assuming all top seeds win their Group).

2026 World Cup - Group Draw
Yes I agree. really. Do it late March. Nothing spoiling until then.

2026 World Cup - Group Draw
England, Croatia, Panama, Ghana Brazil, Morocco, Scotland, Haiti Should both get out of that...
-
2026 World Cup - Group Draw
England's opening game in Toronto or Dallas againat CROATIA. Repeat of 2018. QF. Could be hard for England. Lineker says it's the most difficult draw ever to undersatand. Think the commentators are even struggling.. Scotland's first game against Haiti. First group complete: Spain, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, Cape Verde. Spain, in great form now, v Cape Verde.🤔

I see Chris Rea has a Christmas album coming out. Only 9 tracks and two are his well known Xmas song. Can't see it doing much. Don't know if it's re-issue.

Every song that has gone platinum despite never reaching the UK Top 40- FULL LIST
Next Saturday, 10pm on BBC2, The Hits That Missed. A look into the BBC’s music archives to examine the all-time classic tracks that seem to have been around forever, and get everywhere - apart from the UK Top 40. It’s a journey that sees us heading back in time to the Summer of ‘69 with Bryan Adams and takes in Bowie’s Changes, Dolly’s 9 to 5 and Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire – just some of the most surprising favourites to feature in this selection of the biggest, most enduring tracks ever written that mysteriously failed to have an impact on the charts the first time around. With crowd-pleasers that still get everyone on their feet and anthems everyone can sing along to, these songs are forever part of the soundtrack to people's lives but always leave them wondering 'why was this not a hit?'
