Missing dog-walker in Lancashire.
Seems like the family's not convinced with the police theory. The river was searched quickly and nothing found. It's still being searched with drivers and all manner of equipment. There's a weir further down and if she's not in the river between the bench and weir then she must have gone over it.

At a news conference this afternoon police say they're fairly certain she fell in to the river.

Winter of strikes
The teachers strike is just farcical. They're paid enough for what they do and get far too many holidays.

Matt Hancock pushed and harassed on Tube.
I am disgusted by remarks here. Almost condemning violence and verbal abuse. Would you like to have been on the receiving end of it? Matt did nothing to deserve this treatment and I hope they throw the book at this guy. Hancock is not a murderer. He was just doing a very difficult job. The decision of when to lock down wasn't his but the PM's. My aquarium shop owner friend Gary died of Covid at 62 and his fiancee is very very bitter. They were getting married 4 months later, the nicest kindest, funniest guy imaginable. She blames Hancock and Boris. It was a world-wide pandemic and they were not to blame for the deaths which of course were very tragic. Gary died Jan '21 so didn't get chance to have the jab.

Missing dog-walker in Lancashire.
Strange one this. She went missing on Friday on a river tow path around 9.15 am whilst still watching, but not actively participating in, a works conference call. Her muted phone and dog collar and harness removed were found on a seat and dog loose nearby. Forensic tests on dog's fur show that he never entered the river and was bone dry when found but in an antagonistic, agitated state, only interacting with family. What did he witness? Police know more as they don't think it's a crime. Unless the dog ran towards the River Wye and she went after him and fell down the steep bank. It's a very fast deep tidal river which opens in to the Irish Sea 13 miles down and would be very cold in January. Wonder what makes them think she wasn't attacked? Surely that should be their first assumption. Marks on the bank down to the river maybe, suggesting she fell in? Now they want any dash cam footage which may show her in the area around that time or leaving the area.

According to the IMF....
The UK will be the only country in the developed world to fall in to recession this year. DISCUSS. Why is this? Government policies or circumstances beyond their control. *Whispers* Brexit.

Matt Hancock pushed and harassed on Tube.
Happened Tuesday just before 9am near Westminster station. 63 year old man called him a murderer. Finally arrested by LT police and will appear in court tomorrow charged with harrassment and assault. He allegedly pushed Hancock on the escalator. Now what ever you think about a politician he has a right to travel without this. Hope the guy goes to jail but will get a slap on the wrists. Police have a 10 min video. Scroll down to see video. https://www.newhamrecorder.co.uk/news/natio...ncident-london/

US Politics Thread
Joe Biden should, and I hope he will, step down by Jan 22nd, enabling new President Harris to stand as encumbent in 2024 and serve a possible two full terms herself. Any date after and she could only serve one.
