  1. Trump's message to the Norwegian pm. Confirmed as genuine now by BBC. "Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America."
  2. Loved Nicole's Euro winner A Little Peace and bought it. Green Door is my favourite Shaky track by far.
  3. 39 and 39 today.
  4. Round 1 36. Couldn't get Edwyn Collins but I knew it, was on tip of my tongue. He did A Girl Like You solo. Round 2. 39. Got Lynsey De Paul....hard question unless you know it..
  5. Of course UB40's only other UK No.1 was also a cover, Can't Help Falling In Love in 1993.

Sad to see Billy die. I liked him. He took Theo's bullying to the grave then...
  7. He may take Greenland next. They have air bases there.
  8. My wife hates her and can't bear to even look at her let alone watch anything with her in it....says it's the fringe....very odd. well she ain't gonna take it off as it's her trademark. I liked her quiz One Question on Ch4 but not sure if it's coming back... I remember her daughter got burnt at age 8 when her witches costume caught fire and literally stuck to her. She's about 18 now.

Did anyone watch this on ITV last night? Quite good. US show first. 81 players on a floor in 9 rows of 9 squares. Each has a topic but they're chosen at random and answer their opponent's topic to eliminate them from the game with last person standing getting 50k. Was hoping to see the UK No.1's topic answered but it wasn't this week.

Yes, have listened a lot to it. May have been me who posted about it before.
  12. I hope so as 74-78 are my fave years.

Sorry, John but his 2 No.'s, Lucille and Coward Of The County were far better. Lady does nothing for me but each to their own.
  15. Venezualens cheering in Miami. Sec. Of State Marco Rubio just said "this is a President of action and peace. Don't play games with him" Starmer said UK not involved but he was told by Trump just before it happened.
  16. I prefer Sunglasses which wasn't as big, first done by Sandy Posey, the Single Girl in the 60's.
  17. Karma's parent album Colour By Numbers was huge too and is still a very good listen.
  18. Am a huge Rod fan, much prefer him to Elton but don't like Baby Jane but not sure why.
  19. First time of me watching and wow, love it. I think it would be better if we the viewers knew who the Secret Traitor was. Anyone agree? Anyway am hooked.... Hugo not happy that there's a secret Traitor lol.
  20. I predicted it but all my 5 votes went to A Place In The Sun. Am shocked his biggest hit was only No.9. I knew it wouldn't win. Many fans hate it. 21. Well done Kylie. They wouldn't have had her on if she'd missed out.
  22. Oh we didn't win a lot John, only maybe a tenner or £20 to share but because we only went in once a week the regulars got angry and could see their point of view. Mostly it was beer vouchers though so was going with my dad Sunday lunchtime to use them. DJ at one was in my class at school and he said "Oh no!!" He tried to beat us with asking years then...was funny. Won some jackpots too that had never been won. £200 once. Didn't go down well so we didn't go again. The clincher was Golden Lights, the smaller hit in 65 by Twinkle. BTW the winner in that quiz got a £1000 hi-fi and the third place was a £250 one so did okay. Hard questions and heavy rock let me down from early 70's.

    I think so now too...
  24. Today. 39 and 39. The Last Kiss, How Can I Be Sure and Daydreamer. Have to apply but it'll be the more recent ones that do me in, late 90's onwards...I know a lot but a lot escape me too. Was on a R2 pop quiz in the 80's with David Hamilton. Album for each correct. 4/5, didn't know Helen Shapiro's first UK hit, Don't Treat Me Like A Child. Before I started going to pop quizzes in pubs with an older guy who was a 50's and 60's expert in 1987, didn't know those but learnt them from him and going mainly. I knew 70's and 80's so we were virtually unbeatable. Regulars moaned so we got banned from playing. Met him when I was in a pub with my dad and he'd won 30 odd weeks running and I BEAT HIM, 20/20. Such a roar went up. So we started going round 4 nights a week. He knew which pubs had them. Won cash or beer vouchers. Then won one in Royal Hotel where we had our wedding reception. Landlady asked if I'd represent them in regional one in Sheffield. She got a bus up. I came second, £500 hi-fi. Parents went and loads of regulars. Landlady gave us a free Sunday lunch with champagne...the winner was brilliant....

Really looking forward to your 1976 John. My fave year for music.
