The Tory lies and deceit thread
Never let a solicitor do probate John. It's a rip-off by them. You just download the form and list their assets and liabilities then go to any solicitor to swear the oath then post it to a Probate office. My sister and I did it for my mum. Most people don't know this though and most solicitors don't tell them either.

I see. It's outrageous that you've to pay £2,000 out of 20k to the Courts. Legal fees are just a rip off. A solicitor wanted £1100 to do Probate for Rachel as she'd inherited a substantial sum from my cousin. I did it myself, which you can. It's quite easy and not really scary at all. £78 fee then £8 to swear the oath so saved myself over a grand. Most people just go to a solicitor and get ripped off without realising you can do it yourself.

Why can't you get a carer's allowance? My uncle had MS and my auntie got it for decades.

TOKYO 2020 | General Discussion & Collation Thread
I watched the opening ceremony and it was okay and very colourful as usual. I see Piers Morgan has slagged it off as "the most boring ever, sent me to sleep" He said the Olympics shouldn't have taken place anyway so was against it before it started.

What well-known shows have you seen?
I've seen Phantom Of The Opera, Mamma Mia, Buddy (The Buddy Holly Story) and Only The Lonely (The Roy Orbison Story) All in London's West End but none recently.

Brexit II: This Time It's Irreversible
How come then that the only one the mainstream UK news channels, BBC, ITV and Sky, are focussing on is PINGDEMIC then? Amazing how you can get Priti's name in there somewhere. I knew someone would soon, even though she's in no way connected to HGV drivers. Any excuse to have a go at her though, just like the pathetic Labour....Well she's not going anywhere anytime soon despite what Labour wants.

Brexit II: This Time It's Irreversible
The shortage of HGV workers at present, meaning some food shortages, is nothing to do with Brexit. It's because so many are isolating after being pinged by the app. Once that's sorted, and the Government is on the case right now, we'll be okay. Also there's been a delay with people taking the HGV driving test due to Covid.

Labour MP Dawn Butler has been told to leave the Commons for the day by the Speaker after refusing to withdraw her remark that "Boris Johnson has lied and led to the Commons and the public over and over again."

You do really hate the man don't you. What's he ever done to you? Baffles me. I mean I disliked Corbyn, Abbott and have no time for Starmer but wouldn't say I hate them like you do Boris. Saddens me in a way when he's doing what he sees as his best. Am sure he wouldn't KNOWINGLY make bad or wrong decisions about Covid as it could be career suicide.

Just heard on the radio that the most played track on radio stations in the UK today has been FREEDOM by either Wham or George Michael. Different songs I know. No idea how true it is as I don't listen to radio much but could understand it in a way.

Coronavirus Discussion
Have never seen as much despondency and negativity on a forum. It's well past time for everything to be lifted. People want BBQ's and friends round and more than sodding 6! We're having one Friday for about 15 people. AT LAST. If you want restrictions to continue then self-restrict as they've said. Stay in, get supermarket deliveries, don't meet anyone. Simple really but let the rest of us get back to normal now. Went out Friday and no-one on the bus had a mask on and not many in Asda either. LT has never enforced the wearing of them on buses anyway. More so on the tubes.

In my opinion it was ridiculous to even consider a reception unless they won. You don't reward failure. In other news, at a time when it wants to abolish foreign aid, the Government has spent £73,000 topping up it's fine wines and champagnes cellar which is used to entertain at Government functions and receptions. It now contains a record 32,000 bottles of wine, mostly in cellars at Lancaster House but with some in the cellars of No.10 too. White and champagne is drunk far more than red.

Euro 2020
Boris has cancelled a planned champagne and nibbles reception ro be given by himself and Carrie later this week at No.10 for the players and management which was to happen whether they won or not, as he's said to be angry at racism claims against him and Priti Patel. I understand him as they've done nothing wrong, especially Priti who condemned unequivocally the racism after Sunday's match.

Euro 2020
100,000 signatures by angry English fans to have the result overturned and the final played again. Why? The penalties were sheer luck and Southgate chose the takers, not the Italians or FIFA. Also an Italian witch apparently cursed England. Find her and burn her at the stake I say. :D

Italy v England
Looks like Leicester Sq. is choc full already with people chucking beer over one another. A lot are plastic pint containers from nearby pubs but many bottles too. Hope there's no trouble as people get more drunk. Many off-licences and Tesco Express supermarkets closing early as they fear trouble and looting, according to Sky News. A few staff could do nothing against a mob determined to empty the shelves. Extra police drafted in as crowds gather at multiple locations around Central London. Also Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Sheffield.

Sainsbury's to stop selling CDs
That's answered my question. Went in the biggest one near us, formerly a Savacentre and went to browse the CD's. NONE. NOTHING.

Who will win Euro 2020?
According to The Mail and other new outlets, Spanish TV says the Euros are rigged by UEFA for England to win it. Says the final of any big competition should be at a neutral venue. Also it shouldn't have been held here anyway after the contempt we showed Europe with Brexit. LOL. I only said to my wife last night that no team should have home advantage in any final. They say it's been the worst competition to cover with decisions favouring England, especially last night's penalty.

Boris being criticised for not wearing a mask as he left Wembley last night, despite his wife, driver and other protection officers all wearing one. One newspaper has discovered that people in Ministerial cars are exempts though so he wasn't breaking the law. Just not setting an example. Looks a bit the worse for wear in this Mirror pic too... :o https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/bori...682#source=push

 Have you not read my previous posts the other day? This goes for you all by the way. I am on PRE-MOD which means that all my posts have to be checked by a moderator before they appear on the boards. So I can't troll or the mods wouldn't let my post through would they. Where did I say Boris is a hero in my post? I didn't. Yes, the Government does seem to be going against the scientists this time. Chris Whittey has said so in fact. Wonder if Javid has anything to do with that. Just watching Javid's Covid statement in the Commons and he does seem less cautious than Hancock.
