That's fake. Biden's not even at the WH yet as they've gone to Arlington to lay a wreath.
  2. They didn't say.

Have never ever seen a President sworn in earlier than noon. Was 11.48 this time. Wonder why that was. Thought his term began at noon.

He's left Joe a hand-written sealed letter but it's contents are top secret.

Anyone watching then? Snowing in DC.
  6. Watching it now. Just started snowing in DC
  7. So, 1,820 deaths announced today.
  8. The question didn't mention impact on people's lives though. It asked what was the biggest story in your life, from a personal point of view I assumed.
  9. Nine Met. police officers have been fined £200 each for having a sit down breakfast in a cafe in SE London with no social distancing. They were filmed by a passer-by after he saw several marked squad cars parked outside. Apparently it's been going on a while.
  10. No, man landing on the moon in 1969, Diana's death in 1997 and then 9/11 were bigger I'd say.
  11. Apparently there's division with the Cabinet as to which groups of workers should get the vaccine first, if any at all. Met. Police commissioner Cressida Dick says the Home Secretary Priti Patel agrees with her that police officers should get it as a priority. Others think teachers, supermarket workers. Don't know who will decide in the end. Boris I suppose. Rumours that no restrictions at all will be lifted before Good Friday. That's a long time.
  12. Trump's promised "revenge" on the 10 Republicans who voted to have him impeached though don't see what he can do from the beach in Florida. :D Someone elsewhere asked what happens with the nuclear football tomorrow. Well there's always two anyway so one will be with Trump and one passed at noon to Biden. Trump's will be disabled electronically and Biden's switched on. Not a problem at all.
  13. Highest daily death toll yet, 1,610, but infections are down now so the number of deaths should start falling late next week.
  14. Two National Guards men have been removed from DC by the Secret Service after being found to be members of far-right groups. The SS and NG both refused to comment any further.
  15. Actually up at 6.30 out jogging before breakfast with the dog and his bodyguards. Sorry mods for going off-topic.
  16. I haven't really seen a list yet.
  17. Have you read today that Boris has a nap in the daytime? He closes his office door, says not to be disturbed then has 40 winks. Refreshes him for the rest of the day apparently.
  18. All outgoing Presidents give out pardons. Nothing new there.
  19. I'm sure they'll change it if you can't or don't want to go then. I wouldn't go in the night. Like my warm bed too much.
  20. BBC saying inauguration rehearsal's been called off and the Capitol evacuated again after smoke was seen rising behind the building. Turned out to be a small fire caused by a tramp under an underpass. I honestly think it should be moved indoors on Wed. The SS are worried that an assassination attempt may come from inside and are vetting all NG and other police brought in from other areas.
  21. Well he's spending all day tomorrow dishing out hundreds of pardons so she may be lucky.
  22. Sky reporting chaos at Heathrow with up to a 2 hour wait whilst checks are made as to whether people have negative test proof. Luggage piled high too. At least it shows they're doing it properly. People needing to isolate will soon be sent to hotels and not allowed to leave. They're sorting it out. Passengers will have to pay up to £1,500 a week, similar to what Australia's charged.
  23. I am just quoting US lawyers who say the case in legal terms regarding the insurrection isn't as clear cut as all you Trump haters would like it to be. They're looking at it from a neutral point of view, like any court case should be looked at, and not from a Trump haters POV. Not once did he say to go and invade the Capitol and attack people. The courts have decided that Trump's claims that the election was stolen were unfounded but that doesn't stop many Americans, and many around the world, still believing that it was. Maybe a full recount would have satisfied everyone. I don't know.
  24. Yes I know that and I'm reading that he may take it to Court and let a jury decide, rather than The Senate, Democrats and Trump haterz around the world.
  25. Have you even read a transcript of the full 85 minute speech? I doubt many people have. They've seen selected clips on TV. Go read it and get back to me.
