Rolling In The Deep and Set Fire To The Rain are in no way related to easy listening, it's pop. Coldplay are rock, they use guitars and are a band, Dido is more along the lines of "world music" though thats open to opinion, I suppose.
Then again, they call Gotye rock, and Taylor Swift is "country" when it's so obviously pop, so maybe we need to do away with labels and just call everything "music"....:)
I'd say Dido is pop.

Eva Cassidy  Incredible sales for someone who never even set foot in the UK and visual recordings of her performing are scarce - Her music really has struck a chord with the UK and each of her albums has at least sold 100,000 with her recent 'Best Of' collection close to Platinum. Not sure how much more music they have of hers in the vaults that she recorded before her death though :-(Her UK success is largely because of Radio 2 and particularly Terry Wogan playing Over The Rainbow, which catapulted Songbird to No.1 n the album charts. None of her subsequent releases has come close to it's sales.

That's actually really unacceptable! Have you told your manager about those people? :oI agree that they shouldn't swear at shop staff as it's not their fault. I meant I can understand the customers' frustration though.
According to someone commenting under the DM article, if they're trading at all, then they can't refuse to take back returns of faulty product as it breaks consumer law. Another store put up such a notice and Trading Standards made them take it down.

So far today at work about 10 customers have been removed by security from the store due to being abusive over gift cards etc, god knows what the next few days will be like! :drama:I don't blame those customers. I feel very sorry for them. Someone on DS said it's akin to theft. They've taken the money for those vouchers so should honour them. Those should be put FIRST by the Administrators and not last, as I've heard they are amongst the debts.

From midday today you probably wont hear one on the radio until 1st dec 2013 either - i think they should be played until 27th at least - but it follows the commercial marketing of xmas now - its all about the winter sales now!!
Its also obv because people download before the big day and listen to them now!
Gold are still playing them as heard Mariah earlier.

The creator of the original page probably changed the title/description of the page to a tribute after the shooting. I've liked pages before, only for them to change to something completely different a few weeks later.
Oh I see then. So it's not as strange as the Icke forums are making out. They say it was a set up ny the anti-gun lobby to get public support for their cause.

Yet another psy-op to make the gullible masses call for gun control. :rolleyes:Well a Facebook page was set up for one of the teachers 4 days before the shootings. David Icke's forum has the screenshots. Can anyone explain that then? How does anyone know she's going to die? I was gobsmacked when I saw it as I can't explain it. Every FB page has a set-up date.

oh if weve gotta have 70's comedy xmas numbers I'll go for the Goodies. Father Christmas Do Not Touch Me could have been written in 'tribute' to a certain santa-looking DJ of the time. I think it got banned, unsurprisingly, by Radio 1. Radio Luxembourg I think played it...
Yeah they did but with that title no music channel would play it now and doubt there's even a video.

Much agree Chris. It is a lovely song & very underplayed, although a big hit. And all of Dana's hits are very underplayed. When was the last time you heard "Fairytale". Only made #13, but shifted just as many as "It's Gonna Be A Cold Cold Christmas".1978 will be ok to go ahead. First one penciled in for 17th Jan 2012. JS didn't present while he did "Jim'll Fix It". So the first 4 months of 78, will be ok, apart from DLT. But we have all those, we can link in the future. So, watch this space....
Yeah Dave, I love Fairytale. Radio 2 sometimes plays Cold Cold Christmas but not heard it this year. You get the same ones on the TV music channels, Slade, Wham, Mariah, Wizzard, Band Aid etc etc and, whilst all great classics, why not include Dana and some Chris Hill too, Renta or Bionic Santa? Someone once said it's because Dana's is a sad song but so what? Many songs are sad.

I don't agree, being a bit crazy and having suicidal thoughts or similar is one thing, to open fire in a classroom of children really is unexplainable. When someone is very very angry with the world they don't care about whom they kill or their ages. If guns were freely available here then there'd be more of these shootings in the UK.

Shouldn't do though as it's a minor offence imo. The law's an ass sometimes. Time they went about catching real criminals like murderers and drug-pushers instead of picking on motorists. :(
