  1. Well I'll rephrase it for you. People who voted Leave thought we needed to leave the EU for various reasons.
  2. Yes but it was said that as he'd been an MP he should know about recourse to public funds. I just pointed out that not all MP's know every aspect of every rule. They can always look them up as often the CAB does when helping clients. Gosh I'd be astounded if Boris knows every law and rule inside out. Besides he wasn't even the negotiator at the talks.
  3. MP's don't always know everything. My MP in Barnsley didn't know that Incapacity Benefit, now ESA, for illness or disability, is not classed as public funds. :o I know it sounds strange as it is paid from public funds. I contacted him about something when getting married to a foreigner in 1992 and he said it's still a benefit so she wouldn't be allowed to stay. Yes, but as it's a CONTRIBUTIONARY benefit it's not classed under immigration rules as public funds. The UKIAS immigration advisors in Leeds knew of course and they said all embassies will know but he didn't. He just assumed all benefits are classed as public funds. We let the UKIAS do our application for wife visa as they knew the rules.
  4. Yes of course but hey life's not always problem free is it. We needed to leave the EU. That was the most important thing.
  5. It's not known yet if it was a mistake or not as we've not been left a month even yet. Ask me again in 5 years if I'm still alive. No one, least of all me, said there won't be teething problems.
  6. If we've left the EU then surely the same rules should apply as if a musician wanted to go play in Manila or one of theirs comes here?
  7. Sorry I thought he was just on about musicians. Yes I know trade and also people coming here to visit is the most important.
  8. Well yes they are.
  9. Maybe the country could heal the rift over Brexit if you lot and others on other forums, stopped calling us morons. It's not big it's not clever.
  10. Bigger than trade and fishing? No way.
  11. Very sorry to hear that. :(

    Nooooo...I can't swim. :o
  14. I think he's wrong. It should be scrutinised in great detail.
  15. Yes they were. Well I did anyway.
  16. Do you expect him to know every minute detail though? I'd be surprised if he did when there are thousands of pages. No doubt he could look it up if he needed to.
  17. My fave is Saved By The Bell, really a solo song by Robin but they all sang on it.

Thank God he never held a Cabinet position. :)

No. You're too young to know that John Smith was the best PM we never had.
  20. Four Republicans abstained
  21. From BBC News. The 10 Republicans who coted with the Dems to impeach are: Liz Cheney of Wyoming (the third highest-ranking Republican in the House) Adam Kinzinger of Illinois (the only Republican that voted on a bill calling for Vice-President Mike Pence to take over as president yesterday) John Katko of New York (the first House Republican to say he'd vote to impeach) Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio Tom Rice of South Carolina Dan Newhouse of Washington State Jaime Herrera Beutler of Washington State Fred Upton of Michigan David Valadao of Florida Peter Meijer of Michigan
  22. Bo Rap almost wasn't played by Radio 1. At the weekly playlist meeting of producers and DJ's, Doreen Davis, the Executive producer, said it was too long and wouldn't be a hit. Kenny Everett disagreed and played it on his Saturday show. The switchboards lit up and the rest is history.
  23. Quite surprised at Stayin' Alive. Thought it would be Night Fever.

We had a vote. Boris and the Tories won a majority.
