Chris - You're a hypocrite and an absolute moron.... You've no compassion for two genuinely disturbed and neglected 10 year olds, who CAN turn themselves around and become useful members of society, and yet you defend to the hilt a middle-aged fukkin' PERVERT whose committed more than one offence, and will commit again because he IS a fukkin' PERVERT who cant control himself. Unlike Thomson and Venables, I dont see this PERVERT seeking counselling to try and control his urges, therefore he gets absolutely no compassion from me... A bullet in the fukkin' head is the only thing that'll stop Glitter from committing his vileness on underage girls, hopefully some day, someone will oblige and shoot the fukker, he's irredeemable in my eyes....

Excuse me but I agree 101% with you that he is a PERVERT and maybe cannot be redeemed. I do not defend him to the hilt. Please quote me where I have. You wouldn't catch me having a pint down my local with him but I see nothing wrong with buying a CD by him if I want the music. The decision to buy music or not to buy it shouldn't be based on what a person does or has done in their private life. It should purely be based on the music and if you want it or not. What about all those buying Jacko albums since his death then, millions around the world?

Here's a post by someone on DS today that I agree with totally.

"I imagine there are hundreds if not thousands of "Rock Stars" that have dipped their toes in the world of underage sex since the 50's.

Your Presleys, Wymens , Townsend's and Jacksons of this world probably only scratch the surface.

Yet people still buy their music.

Why should GG's be any different?

    He's done his time.

Stick him on the radio and get him back in the charts for some Gary action! "

  2. Are there two people called Crazy Chris here? On another thread someone also calling himself Crazy Chris is saying that he would support vigilante action against various other convicted criminals who have served their time.

They are murderers I believe though. Far worse offence.

  3. God are you that naive or are you just on a fukkin pisstake ?

Do you seriously think that Glitter left to his own devices wouid not offend again ? course he bloody would man and you know it

I doubt that he would. Anyway he says he didn't do it. Think the moral of this story is NEVER TAKE YOUR PC IN TO PC WORLD!

Your life Chris but if he offends again you have the blood of his victim on your hands as you have helped give him the money to subsudise his lifestyle

You conveniently evaded the question B.A. Why are others besides me buying them then if he's so hated as the press would have us believe?

Yeah, Jaycee's stepfather actually witnessed her being bundled in to a car at a bus stop but no-one else was around so no-one else saw anything. He took at least 3 lie-detector tests, which, whilst not accepted as evidence in the US, showed him to be telling the truth!! Yet still cops thought he'd had something to do with it and made up the car and kidnap story. He suffered years of abuse in the street and receiving hate mail so I read today.

So if he's so reviled then why are his CD's selling? Unless Amazon are lying they got 12 in on Wed when they emailed me as I looked and I see only 1 in stock now, with "more on the way." Could his notoriety have actually led to a few curious people buying a hits collection of his?
  7. I can assure you I'm not thick. Anyway from an £8.97 CD just how much will he get of that? I see he has a new album out soon, recorded in Thailand recently. Doubt it'll trouble the charts as I read that only Amazon have agreed to stock it.
  8. I remember my sister who's 3 years younger than me, being a huge Bay City Rollers fan. She bought all their singles and albums on release day and her bedroom wall was choc full with BCR posters!! I had one of Marie Osmond on my wall. Loved Paper Roses and still do in fact.

the honeycombes got to the top spot with 'have i the right', uniquely with a female drummer, a great beat track.

Great tune. Actually bought it in 1977 by Dead End Kids!

Kelly by Wayne Gibson. Never heard of it but assume it's the same guy who had a hit with Under My Thumb in 1974.

I don't mind admitting that I'm the one who's ordered Gary Glitter's Ultimate Collection double CD from Amazon, along with a couple of other 70's hits albums. I liked most of his songs and they've been unobtainable for ages but Amazon got 12 in and only 1 left now so others are buying his music too. It's not a crime after all despite what anyone thinks. We live in a free country and I don't tell anyone else what to buy! I in no way condone what he did but can separate that from his fab 70's music. When it arrives it'll take me back to when I was 12/13/14. I have lots of 70's compilations by such as Smokie, Showaddywaddy, Hot Chocolate, Mud, Boney M, Slade etc and don't see the difference to be honest. I see HMV, Play etc are still refusing to stock Glitter music but it's their loss as he's obviously selling.

so you reckon that theres a big cover up, all these people know what happened but are putting on a show? you reckon the portugese know what happened but are keeping it to themselves?

i said EVIDENCE, a book isnt evidence, its a money making scam!

There's not ENOUGH evidence. Simple as that. I admit that. They've just said, through their spokesman, that today's news gives them new hope. However the girl in California was snatched off the street and bundled in to the car and that's how most stranger abductions do happen.

Nothing to do with The Sun either as they've been Pro-McCann as all the UK papers generally have. I dig deeper and have read translations of Portuguese papers that haven't been gagged.

One thing, she can remember her family as she was 11 at the time of her disappearance. Maddy probably wouldn't they're saying today as she was only 4.

evidence?.... where is you sceintifically proven EVIDENCE that you base this on? heresay and rumour are just hot air.

Not one but TWO cadaver dogs plus a very interesting book written by Detective Amaral and so far only published in Portugal.

  13. ... but tom kay who is half your age is familiar with smoke.... id suggest you dont know as much as you claim.

mostly its a generation thing, the acts highlighted were even before MY time! lol, but im not arrogant enough to claim to be the pop oracle.. this info will be of interest to people familiar with the psychedelic scene in the late 60s, and they will be around 60 years old themselves now unless they are (like tom) retrospective fans. so its a niche market..

Fair enough. I don't claim to know everything as I mainly know mainstream chart music.

I'd like to make a point if I may. UK radio is hypocritical. They all have banned Gary Glitter's and Jonathan King's music yet carry on playing Phil Spector produced tracks. He's a convicted murderer. Surely a murderer is worse than a paedophile?
  15. More on this.....

A US woman found after being abducted as a girl in 1991 gave birth to two children fathered by her alleged kidnapper - the first when she was 14.

Jaycee Lee Dugard and her daughters, 11 and 15, were kept in a "hidden backyard within a backyard", police say.

Alleged kidnapper Phillip Garrido, 58, and his wife Nancy Garrido, 54, are being held in custody in California.

DNA tests are being done to establish Ms Dugard's identity, but meanwhile she has been reunited with her mother.

"She was in good health, but living in a backyard for the past 18 years does take its toll," El Dorado County Undersheriff Fred Kollar said.

Ms Dugard disappeared in 1991, aged 11, apparently taken by two people who bundled her into a car.

Mr Kollar said that since the kidnapping she had lived with the couple, isolated from view at a property in Antioch near San Francisco, 170 miles (273km) from her home in South Lake Tahoe.

"The tents and outbuildings in the backyard were placed in a strategic arrangement to inhibit outside viewing and to isolate the victims from outside contact."

She and the children spent "most of their lives" there, he said, adding that they had never been to school or seen a doctor.

Their identities were revealed after police spotted Mr Garrido as he handed out religious literature at the University of California Berkeley campus with the two young children.

He raised suspicions because as a registered sex offender he was not allowed to be with young children.

He was called in by his parole officer for questioning, and brought the two children and a young woman he called Allissa with him.

During questioning he revealed that Allissa was actually Ms Dugard. She also confirmed her identity to police.

In a telephone interview from prison with the KCRA-TV station, Mr Garrido said he had not admitted to abduction and that the birth of the first child 15 years ago had changed his life.

"If you take this a step at a time, you're going to fall over backward and in the end you're going to find the most powerful, heart-warming story," he said.

"I tell you here's the story of what took place at this house and you're going to be absolutely impressed.

"It's a disgusting thing that took place from the end to the beginning. But I turned my life completely around," he said.

Some of those who had had contact with Mr Garrido over recent years said he had developed increasingly strong religious beliefs.

Tim Allen, who did business with Mr Garrido's printing firm, told Associated Press that Mr Garrido gave the impression he was planning to establish a church. "He rambled. It made no sense," Mr Allen said.

    'Given up hope'

Police said they had found a vehicle hidden in the backyard of the Antioch property that matched the vehicle described at the time of the abduction.

Although Mr Garrido was previously visited by a parole officer, there was nothing odd noticed about the backyard.

The area occupied by Ms Dugard and her children was concealed by shrubs, rubbish bins and a tarpaulin.

Ms Dugard's stepfather, Carl Probyn, who witnessed the abduction on 10 June 1991, said he had "given up hope" she would be found alive.

"It broke my marriage up. I've gone through hell, I mean I'm a suspect up until yesterday," Mr Probyn, 60, told AP.

Mr Probyn saw the young girl being taken away by two people as she walked from her home to a school bus stop in South Lake Tahoe.

He said a stranger drove up and grabbed Ms Dugard, bundling her into a grey car even as she tried to resist by kicking and screaming.

Mr Probyn believed a man and woman were in the vehicle. Despite several false reports of sightings in the intervening years, Ms Dugard was never seen again.

"She sounds like she's okay," Mr Probyn said. "I hope she's been well-treated this entire 18 years.
