Vanessa Feltz does two live BBC radio shows every morning. Early breakfast on Radio Two, 5-6.30 am then dashes across the road to do three hours 7-10 on BBC Radio London. People say she's greedy and should give up the Radio 2 slot to someone else. It's often been reported that Radio 2 would like to extend Early breakfast to 7am but she'd have no time to get to BBC London then, unless she broadcast from Radio 2 studios.
Jeremy Vine's on Ch5 from 9.15 to 11.15 am then does his R2 show 12 until 2. He does record the last part of his Ch.5 show though so he can get to Radio 2 and do some preparation.
More salaries. Scroll back to P82.

Why does Scott Mills earn more for the afternoon show than Greg James does for the Breakfast show? On Radio 2 the brekkie host is the highest earner by far. Wogan and Evans were on £1 million so guess it goes with the show.
Some say it's how much they're worth individually and how much they could be poached for by other stations.
Why has Ken Bruce got a 100k rise this year for doing exactly the same show?
I bet Sara Cox wishes she'd got the R2 breakfast show. She may do after Ball. 5 times as much nearly for broadcasting at breakfast rather than early evening.

Released today, the latest BBC presenter salaries. The one that sticks out like a sore thumb and which is being criticised on Twitter and other forums is Zoe Ball. Is she really worth a 300%+ rise, over £1 million a year just for Radio 2's breakfast show? Any other BBC work is not included in this figure btw. She didn't get anything like that for her first year in the slot but her pay has shot up this year despite her losing a million listeners.

A WINTER version of Eat Out to Help Out could be launched after the scheme's success this summer.
The initiative, launched to boost the economy and rescue the flailing hospitality sector, is being kept "under review" for round two.
Some restaurants have even extended their own versions of the scheme into this month in order to entice customers as industry heads also call on Chancellor Rishi Sunak to extend the initiative.
And today, Tory MP for St Austell and Newquay Steve Double addressed the Commons, saying: "August has been incredibly busy in Cornwall but we do face a big challenge as we head into winter for the hospitality sector.
"So could I ask Rishi if he would consider a similar sort of scheme to be run at some point during the winter to help as many businesses as possible survive the winter and be here for next summer?"
Financial Secretary to the Treasury Jesse Norman replied: "I would say that there is this wider package… of course the Treasury keeps all these measures under review… but it is a pretty formidable combination of VAT reduction, business rates relief and of course billions in tax deferrals and loans."

So another national lockdown in just 2 weeks according to ITV News, if the rule of 6 doesn't work. A key member of the Sage committee told ITV's Robert Peston "the only thing we know works is a full national lockdown"
Assume schools would close again then. What about pubs, shops etc? This could they say, split the country and split the Conservative party. Furlough ends 31st Oct so what if a lockdown extends beyond then or if we have a third one. They should have left the furlough situation up for review next month really.

Get down off your high horse.I'm not on any high horse but I admire Boris for standing up to the EU and saying enough is enough. All Brits should do that. Thank God we have him as PM and not some pushover idiot.
I for one, and I guess millions of others, will just be glad when Jan. 1st comes.

Chris, bless. You still aren't quite getting how this works are you?How do you think this looks to the rest of the world?
Let me explain how it looks..
The UK is an unreliable nation that is willing to brake the laws how it sees fit. They have no resources that we can't get from anywhere else anyway. They're belligerent....meh...screw them.
Being "British" doesn't mean anything to anyone outside the UK.
Get down off your high horse.
How about the exact opposite. "The UK is a strong country with a strong PM who won't be messed with and will stand up for his country no matter what"
I don't think the EU thought Boris was this tough when he became PM. I bet they thought with his bumbling and jovial personality that he was an easy pushover compared to May. Well they thought wrong as he's quite willing to walk away with no deal.
I think there'll be a last gasp trade deal though and apparently many Tory MP's believe that.

Depressing but entirely expected result tonight. This country(as it exists for now at least) is completely f***ed. How can anybody outside of the EU see the UK as a valuable trading partner when it's so willing to break rules as it pleases?Boris is totally right to put the UK first before the EU though. Remember he wants the best outcome for US and not them and I for one am behind him all the way. I know from reading Twitter and newspaper comments that many many others are too. They're fed up and just want Brexit over and done with now and see Boris as strong and the leader to do it.

From BBC News:
A proposed law giving Boris Johnson's government the power to override parts of the Brexit agreement with the EU has passed its first hurdle in the Commons.
MPs backed the Internal Market Bill by 340 votes to 263.
Ministers say it contains vital safeguards to protect Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK, if negotiations on a future trade deal break down.
But critics, including a number of Tory MPs, warned it risks damaging the UK by breaching international law.
Although the government has a majority of 80 in the Commons, it is braced for rebellions in the coming weeks as the legislation receives detailed scrutiny.
Several prominent Conservatives, including former Chancellor Sajid Javid, have said they could not support the final bill unless it is amended, with several expected to have abstained in Monday's vote.

66 staff have tested positive in Wetherspoon pubs but the boss says pubs are still safe.
JD Wetherspoon has said that 66 of its workers have tested positive for the coronavirus but maintains that visiting pubs is safe.
There had been one or more cases among staff at 50 of its pubs.
Wetherspoon's boss Tim Martin dismissed claims by disease expert Professor Hugh Pennington that pubs are "dangerous".
He said: "The situation with regard to pubs has been widely misunderstood. Pubs are safe"

If it's 1962 through to to 1990 (it's hardly ever the 60's) I will get the year right, no question :teresa: . If it's the 90's I'm very likely to get it right, if it's the 00's it's about 50/50 (I got 2002 right today  ) and if it's the 10's prob about 1 in 5 chance of being right  I'd guess most on Buzzjack would know the 10's and 00's, and be less likely right for any 20th century years.... :DIf it's 70's or 80's I'm certain to get it. 60's a good chance but 90's and noughties not as good, could even be ONE YEAR OUT.

I prefer The Air That I Breathe as well! (I did mention the fact that it reached number two in 1974 :P )A great 70's album that I own on CD is The Hollies 20 Golden Greats with the smoking Manchester towers on the cover. Was a big seller too. No filler just all their biggest tracks on one disc. Superseded by 50 Golden Greats but tbh you only really need the 20.
