The Solo Challenge – QUALIFIERS
Two suggestions ... Donny Osmond (Osmonds) Diana Ross (Supremes)
-
first artist younger than yourself to get a #1 single
Randy is younger, he was born in 1961. Little Jimmy Osmond for me as well, I think
-
'Catalogue' songs to have reached #1
Michael Jackson - One Day In Your Life Originally released as a single in 1975, no.1 six years later
-
The same song in the chart twice
Two versions of Michael Jackson's Black Or White charted at the same time, the original release peaking at no.1 and the C&C Remixes at no.14.

Should album certifications be lowered?
No, I think they're fine as they are. I would, however, like to see a Diamond Award introduced for 1 million.

Most famous one-hit wonders
Does anyone remember anything by Chris de Burgh, other than 'The Lady In Red'? He had a no.3 hit with the dire 'Missing You', plus a few minor hits, but most of his pre-Lady In Red material is mostly wonderful ~ tracks like Waiting For The Hurricane, Spanish Train, Patricia The Stripper, A Spaceman Came Travelling, Crusader, The Traveller, Satin Green Shutters, etc. Steve Wright played Spanish Train on his Radio 2 show this afternoon :)

Obscure chart single formats???
The 20 reissues in Michael Jackson's 'Visionary' series were all released on dualdisc.
-
Albums which were saved by subsequent singles?
When You Believe was the first single - the album made its debut at no.27 in the UK, and quickly slipped as low as no.71, before eventually climbing to no.4 :D
-
Re-releases of flop singles?
As was Michael Jackson's One Day In Your Life
-
Songs re-entering the Charts since 2007
I don't recall anyone doing this on X-Factor - it re-entered due to Halloween.
