  1. Gosh you commit when you do a countdown don't you? I hadn't even noticed it had begun and you're finished 😆 Broadly speaking I would be on a similar line to you, although there's a few you rank much higher than I do. If I was doing this I'd probably go for this as my top 10: 01 All Saints - Black Coffee 02 All Saints - Pure Shores 03 Eminem - Stan 04 Spiller - Groovejet (If This Ain't Love) 05 Sonique - It Feels So Good 06 Destiny's Child - Independent Women Part I 07 Madonna - Music 08 Gabrielle - Rise 09 Madison Avenue - Don't Call Me Baby 10 Fragma - Toca's Miracle Particularly please you also really like Don't Call Me Baby as I think that's often overlooked - and far superior to the much better remembered Modjo track.
  2. I'm gonna be needing Lorde to do a Dua and release a follow up album of extended versions
  3. Ouch at Bon Iver, that is another big loss for me, really thought that stood a good chance of making it through
  4. Sad to see Experience drop out, but I see I gave it all 28 of its points. I entered a mix of it to BJSC and it’s one of my most listened to entries. Weighed up against that is my delight to see that it has ‘sold’ so well, I would never have expected it to have gone platinum so it was a wonderful surprise seeing it eligible for this thread 😍
  5. Oh no - my replacement doesn’t fit this either actually - sorry!
  6. My immediate thought had already been taken so gone with a song I love that will more than likely do terribly here
  7. Some great acts appearing in the past few posts. Particularly love Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode and OMD. It's a slight shame the acts who released singles predominately in the mid to late 80s are undervalued quite a lot due to the sales climate being so drastically lower than the first few years. I also never commented on Erasure, was really pleased to see them sneak over the 2 million mark as I knew they never had a huge selling single and wasn't sure where they would end up.
  8. Summer Girl would sound great on this album. Gone, Relationships and Million Years are my current top 3

Agree that it could be shorter. I wouldn’t miss Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out, Try To Feel My Pain or Cry and it is emphasised a bit by the weakest tracks being in the same patch of the album. But these days it’s easy to cull the ones we don’t want so I’m happy enough
  10. I must admit I also couldn’t hum a moment of that Oasis track
  11. No Surprises the clear highlight of this update, beautiful and mesmerising track <3
  12. Great hold for Pulp 🥰

Listened a couple of times today… it’s a decent album, very much got a relaxed summer vibe to it so it’s being released at the right time imo. I enjoyed all of the singles more in context but think it’s going to take a few more plays before some of the others become stand outs.
  14. Callum has already explained in the thread - it isn't the final table that mattered, each act was already drawn against a specific opponent and all they had to do was beat the points scored by that opponent. He's only posted the table above so that people can see how it would have looked and so that we can see the points each act got. Pet Shop Boys were up against Sasami in their battle, and they got more points so go through whilst Sasami went out. They were lucky that they weren't battling an act that finished higher than them. Elton John however was unlucky because he would have gone through on points alone, but in his battle he was up against Avril Lavigne who scored more than he did, so he was eliminated.
  15. YES at Pet Shop Boys and a-ha managing to get through <3 Sad to see James Blake out, but it always seemed likely this round. Mary J winning the whole round too, very much deserved, what an anthem! <3
  16. Congratulations on the win Dan! It was a great choice, I'd never heard it before yet it felt like something that really should have been a hit. Also a great choice from Jim, loved seeing a bit of hip hop in the contest. Mr Oizo in 11th! It actually did way better than I was expecting, but to have then come so close to keeping my top 10 streak is a little painful!! Glad Addy managed to keep it going though, even if his entry wasn't as much to my taste this time around. Thanks to Bré for hosting, you did a great job and it was an interesting choice of theme - apologies I couldn't pay attention live and it's taken me so long to catch up
  17. I’d probably go as far as saying I hate that Bamboogie thing. Those tracks that sampled old tracks without doing anything even vaguely interesting are dance music at its lowest in my opinion.
  18. I loved Renegade Master 98, Fatboy Slim was really on fire with everything he touched at this point. Also really like High by Lighthouse Family, they're not my usual bag but I always thought High was a really decent radio track.
  19. 01 Pet Shop Boys - Rent 02 A-ha - Take on Me 03 Mary J. Blige - Family Affair 04 Christina Aguilera - Fighter 05 James Blake - Loading 06 Elton John - I’m Still Standing 07 Addison Rae - Times Like These 08 Avril Lavigne - My Happy Ending 09 SASAMI - Just Be Friends 10 CHVRCHES - Graves 11 Damiano David - Born With a Broken Heart 12 Fifth Harmony feat. Ty Dolla $ign - Work From Home 13 Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding - Miracle 14 The Saturdays - All Fired Up 15 Enrique Iglesias feat. Ciara - Takin’ Back My Love 16 Charlie Puth - How Long The top 3 are all pretty much perfect for different reasons <3
  20. I really liked all the pairs this year. I think I would have been happy however it panned out, but I definitely felt happy when I saw who had won as they’d seemed to have such a great time throughout and got so much out of the experience. Although arguably that could be said about any of them, which is why I liked them all so much
  21. A shame that Lorde couldn’t quite grab the top for this milestone (I’m amazed that neither Royals, and especially Green Light didn’t make it!) - but Miley is still a good chart victor nonetheless. Thanks to all of you who work so hard to get these in place for everyone, a great achievement by you and previous mods to reach the 1000th chart 👏
  22. Spoiler Watching the final right now and am already finding it so odd that Caroline and Tom are wasting so much time when they have so much money left... they were just short of where they wanted to get to, yet weirdly waited for what seemed like a day to get a bus rather than just grab a taxi straight away. Sometimes the narrative just doesn't make any sense and I'm more and more convinced that the producers get contestants to do unnecessary stop offs so they have more varied content to film
  23. It's really beautiful isn't it! I'm currently resisting as I know I don't really need it, but I have a feeling I'm going to end up relenting
  24. OMG the drama that this round is likely to bring. I think that Rent is probably PSB's best song, but I fear for it in this round 😔
  25. Noooooooo Rina 😢 At least it does show people are voting for the submitted songs rather than blindly voting for the artists though
