  1. Can't comment on the SF2 tracks as I haven't heard them yet, but the SF1 qualifiers so far are all suitably good. I've already mentioned Haute & Freddy in the other thread so I'll single out Eastovka instead - not always my typical thing but I thought this one was very catchy
  2. Oooooh yes at being announced in the first batch and not having a nervous evening. It's turning into one of my faves that I've sent
  3. I like all three of the new ones this week. Belinda had a good run of singles from her her first couple of albums and this one is another decent effort. The other two I associate with each other without realising they were out at the same time, both pretty catchy (and a bit MOR) tracks that are good to hear when they come on, but not often songs I'd seek out
  4. S’Express wasn’t as big as I remember it being, surprised it’s pretty much gone already. Not a fan of this Kylie one, don’t think I liked it much as a kid either. I’m also another that finds Perfect very irritating. Can’t really remember it from the time so I associate it with adverts and things
  5. I’d be surprised if Hinterlandia DNQ even with a deduction

I used to think that the Brits had just forgotten that Radiohead released Amnesiac in 2001 and just nominated Kid A again by mistake in 2002. There was no other logical explanation to my mind as it wasn’t even as though Kid A was a late success or anything, it very much peaked in 2000 and had no subsequent singles released from it
  7. Don't Speak is a great #1, I liked it at the time but it has grown on me much more over time. Da Funk is a classic, I absolutely adored it and loved the next single even more. The Source back with the definitive version of You Got The Love - took me a long time to realise that it is basically the original song on top of a very similar production to Rob Dougan's 'Clubbed to Death' from the Matrix. Sash! was another fave at the time, although I don't love it as much now. That Warren G track was one of the worst of the year, difficult to believe that this was the same guy that made Regulate :/ Oh and agree that Ready To Go should definitely have been bigger, it was an absolute belter

Nooooooo Teeeeeeeeth  They really should have gotten rid of Bear, at least Teeth brought a decent character and sense of fun (although yes at us getting it right chez dand*)

We think this week that Kingfisher sounded a bit like Tim Vine
  10. Love all of your picks there Bjork. I agree in particular that Hedonism really should have made the top 10, it seemed popular enough to but was perhaps one of those that became more popular when people heard it after week one maybe
  11. Holy f*** this is good stuff Room of Fools, Striptease and Wanderlust
  12. This is tough now, all 5 are classics
  13. Glad you like it! Hype from ◾ is always very much appreciated Also - FLJ votes are in. Didn't love everything in SF1 but the highs were good enough to compensate. Ended up voting for a few countries I don't often vote for though which is always nice

Charli XCX to be nominated for everything and full rebrand to the Brat Awards please
  15. I looked at the chart run for Father Figure just now and it only made 4 weeks in the top 40 too - very weird! The album seems to have easily cleared 1 million so maybe people were just buying that instead.
  16. So weird that Father Figure didn't make the top 10, it's one of George's best for me. I assume it must have seemed like a shock at the time given how popular he and Wham were
  17. S Express! By far the best of the new ones, a welcome change. Love the Rose Royce track it samples too, such a great disco song. Natalie Cole a surprise for me in the top 5, didn't realise she'd had a hit with that at all. I remember it well as my dad played it, but I always assumed he'd heard it from the US charts.
  18. Just listening to Semi 1 now (thank you Jacob for the apple music playlists  ) and only just spotted that Haute & Freddy have been entered! They were on my potentials list for this contest and I was planning on sending Anti-Superstar to the next contest  - still, good taste Cheiron
  19. Wow that really is a huge drop off in sales from the typical numbers we've been used to in these threads. That total for Bros when it has spent a month at #2 is indeed really low.
  20. I feel like the OP needs the BRAT colour code feeling very nervy about my track this month. I really love it & it's my fave for a while, but I think it's one of those melancholic tracks that tends to instantly click with me but often needs time to grow on others & could easily get swamped
  21. I think it's either Evanescence or Pink for me now but not sure which

I thought Teeth sounded like Mel Giedroyc today too Feeling a bit sorry for there, really didn't deserve to leave among that lot
  23. Blueboy getting that second stint in the top 10  I don't mind Discotheque, it's at least quite different sounding for them. I still prefer the better new entries from Depeche Mode and The Orb though
  24. Both the two Pet Shop Boys penned tracks are by far my favourites this week, love both. Heart isn’t an absolute favourite of mine but it’s still great and completed an incredibly strong set of singles from the Actually album. A-ha not bad but not something I choose to play of theirs too often
