Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 7 Single - 1st Round
I really loved Pandora’s Box at the time, was a great single
-
Floating Points - Cascade
Finally bought this on vinyl as I saw it discounted… if you ever see the ‘universal sparkle’ edition then get it - it’s beautiful and basically has blue glitter in it, really unique looking

The Weeknd - Hurry Up Tomorrow
I got bored by track 7 and totally gave up at about track 15 :/

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Fast Car and Push It here to save us all, both wonderful

BJSC 171 BRATTASTIC PREDICTIONS
Wow that’s a lot of mentions. I’d be so chuffed if Rendición does that well. I feel a bit silly now for saying in the semis thread that I was worried that it wouldn’t connect with people, but I think sometimes when I send a song I really love that I overthink it and cotastrophise a bit Happy to see my own favourite song getting some mentions too, I expect it to do well and get a lot of medal placings in people’s votes so I’ll be disappointed for the country in question if it doesn’t finish top 10 - and I’d love to see it win

I don't know that much Sade but I like that, it wouldn't sound too out of place on the early Massive Attack albums

Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat
Pleased to say that I prefer the green edition so won't be ordering the powder filled one

Round 5: Year End Survivor #105
Have to say that the Gorillaz track is in a different league for me to everything else on this list, easily the one I listen to most often

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 7 Single - 1st Round
Sad to see Propellerheads drop out, it's a great version of the Bond theme

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
That is not a good top 10 :/
-
Round 8: Ultimate Ultimate Survivor
I think it is Sophie for me, albeit it is still a brilliant song
-
Round 2: Year End Survivor #106
Louise, although I won't be mad if Lemar goes either
-
Round 5: Year End Survivor #105
Britney for me

I succumbed and bought this just because it's brat green. Probably one of the most unnecessary things I've ever bought considering I already have the 3LP edition

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Love the two tracks that Bjork has mentioned, both definitely deserved top 10 status. Very weird to see Chains of Love peak at 11 in such a low sales climate too. The Bros track is probably their best one, still not huge on it but it's not bad. The Sabrina track is totally naff, but I can see why it was popular and it is at least fun.

Mayhem ● 7th album
Spotify one still the nicest variant for me, phew!

Must be! The hair is the same colour as the spotify fans first edition :o :o :o

MUCH nicer, getting the violet one ^_^

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Voyage Voyage  Goodness only knows why it needed a remix though as it doesn't add anything and possibly just made it sound more tinny. Glad to see Aztec Camera crack the top 3, didn't realise it had made it so high. That Tiffany song is awful. I only knew the big hit and so far none of the others have impressed me at all.

I don't love the web exclusive vinyl enough to rush pre-order it, I'm gonna hold out and wait and see what else becomes available

I quite like that Mica Paris track, nothing too amazing but a nice enough listen. I don't remember LA Mix at all but I've just taken a listen and can see why it made the top 10, all of these sample based tracks really stand out among the typical songs of the 80s. Whitney back with a reasonably decent track, always liked it since I heard it on her best of but don't think it needs to be as long as it is.

Alexis Strum - Karma
I really liked Nothing Good About This Goodbye when it was out, the production has aged a bit now but it's still a nice track. I haven't been able to get on board with Karma, sometimes the lyrics to a track can really put me off and the main line of 'Alexa play Taylor Swift Karma' just really grates on me sadly

Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat
Finally a proper brat green version. Totally trolling us by leaving it until the (I assume) final variant

The decline and fall of the pop nations...
It feels to me like we’ve still had a fair amount of pop doing well over the past couple of years? And I still seem to find myself listening to a fair amount of pop songs each contest so I’m not sure I see it. Also, most of those countries in the list were pretty varied in their tastes and choices of entries, there’s very few I would have said that were ‘pure pop’ and quite a lot there that I think would have been voting for the same songs as other people have been
