Round 6: Ultimate Ultimate Survivor
This is tough now, all 5 are classics

BJSC 171 IS BRAT SEMI FINALS
Glad you like it! Hype from ◾ is always very much appreciated Also - FLJ votes are in. Didn't love everything in SF1 but the highs were good enough to compensate. Ended up voting for a few countries I don't often vote for though which is always nice

The BRIT Awards 2025

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
I looked at the chart run for Father Figure just now and it only made 4 weeks in the top 40 too - very weird! The album seems to have easily cleared 1 million so maybe people were just buying that instead.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
So weird that Father Figure didn't make the top 10, it's one of George's best for me. I assume it must have seemed like a shock at the time given how popular he and Wham were

S Express! By far the best of the new ones, a welcome change. Love the Rose Royce track it samples too, such a great disco song. Natalie Cole a surprise for me in the top 5, didn't realise she'd had a hit with that at all. I remember it well as my dad played it, but I always assumed he'd heard it from the US charts.

BJSC 171 IS BRAT SEMI FINALS
Just listening to Semi 1 now (thank you Jacob for the apple music playlists  ) and only just spotted that Haute & Freddy have been entered! They were on my potentials list for this contest and I was planning on sending Anti-Superstar to the next contest  - still, good taste Cheiron

- The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Wow that really is a huge drop off in sales from the typical numbers we've been used to in these threads. That total for Bros when it has spent a month at #2 is indeed really low.- BJSC 171 IS BRAT SEMI FINALS
I feel like the OP needs the BRAT colour code feeling very nervy about my track this month. I really love it & it's my fave for a while, but I think it's one of those melancholic tracks that tends to instantly click with me but often needs time to grow on others & could easily get swamped- Round 4: Ultimate Ultimate Survivor
I think it's either Evanescence or Pink for me now but not sure which- The Masked Singer • Series 6
I thought Teeth sounded like Mel Giedroyc today too Feeling a bit sorry for there, really didn't deserve to leave among that lot- 90s Top 10 sales- Week By Week- 1997
Blueboy getting that second stint in the top 10  I don't mind Discotheque, it's at least quite different sounding for them. I still prefer the better new entries from Depeche Mode and The Orb though- The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Both the two Pet Shop Boys penned tracks are by far my favourites this week, love both. Heart isn’t an absolute favourite of mine but it’s still great and completed an incredibly strong set of singles from the Actually album. A-ha not bad but not something I choose to play of theirs too often- The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Ship of Fools  I didn't know it at the time but I remember hearing it on the Pop! compilation and thinking it was weird that they went with this as a lead single when Chains of Love and (obvs) A Little Respect were right there... but over time I've come to appreciate it a lot more and think it's one of their loveliest songs.- Bad Bunny - DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS
I've never listened to any of his albums before but I gave this a try and liked it, despite it being a genre I wouldn't always naturally listen to. I'm not very well versed in this style of music but is it an Argentine tango style that its fused with? It may be that the production is just reminding me of Gotan Project that's making me think that. Either way, it's very easy to listen to and I didn't get bored with it at all - I quite like that I don't understand the lyrics too, the melodies and production definitely work well enough and give a certain vibe without needing to understanding it all fully what's being said.- Round 3: Ultimate Ultimate Survivor
Gwen gone far too early :(- Round 6: Year End Survivor #104
The Kooks again for me. Sad to see Country Girl go, it's a very different style for Primal Scream but I liked both this and the follow up Dolls- The Final: Year End Survivor #103
This is like choosing which limb I'd rather saw off- The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Crash Such a fun track to dance to, absolutely love it- The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
Not really that keen on any of the new entries since I last commented. Suedehead is okay but I agree it isn't a patch on the best Smiths singles... Joe Le Taxi is also okay but I've always found it a little bit boring if I'm honest... The Eddy Grant track is catchy but repeated plays left me finding it irritating... I don't remember the Coldcut track and didn't realise that Yazz had a hit before the more famous singles, again it was okay but I can't remember how it goes even though I've only just listened... and then there's Rick Astley, Together Forever is definitely a song that gets stuck in your head so I'll give it that- Cinemas
Oh forgot to pledge my allegiance to a popcorn type... it's the sweet/salty mix for me, although it's rare that I have it when watching a film. I also forgot to mention the lovely Broadway cinema in Nottingham, I go there more than the Cineworld as it's independent and shows a great variety of films.- Cinemas
Didn’t know until reading your post Jonjo that Cineworld was closing, that’s a big loss to the city centre :( I go there sometimes so that’s really sad to read, Showcase isn’t really a viable option for me because of where it’s located We have an Odeon where I live but it’s a small one so doesn’t show anything aside from the major films. On the plus side it’s only £5 these days- The Posters' Chart: Year-End 2024
Wow, the dance and electronic forum beating pop and country :o (albeit slightly)- The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
My brother and I used to listen to the Kylie album a lot, although we didn't get it until christmas - but I can understand why it drove my parents up the wall, the songs are pretty awful really and I agree with Bjork above that SAW gave better songs to some of their other acts at this stage. Beat Dis is by far my favourite song in the top 10 at the moment, although I do have a soft spot for Tell It To My Heart as well. - The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1988
