  1. I registered just so I could vote for Richard. I haven't been watching much at all but Mr D* has had it on nearly every evening and, whilst I've been doing my best to avoid it, I've inevitably caught some bits... and I haven't seen anything of Danny or Coleen that interests me in the slightest. Richard, GK and Maura were my favourites.
  2. Water Babies & Glasvegas both through! *.*
  3. VAULTS, Bastille and Lola Young
  4. 05 Cody - It's Christmas 04 Sufjan Stevens - Christmas Unicorn 03 Alessia Cara - Make it to Christmas 02 Kelly Clarkson - Underneath the Tree 01 Leona Lewis - One More Sleep

I thought there would potentially be significantly more that finished on zero so that's a surprisingly low amount Eye Hate U probably didn't deserve no points - it's not brilliant but it isn't that bad either.

+5 Band Aid – Do They Know It's Christmas? +4 Band Aid 20 – Do They Know It's Christmas? +3 Band Aid 40 – Do They Know It's Christmas? [2024 Ultimate Mix] +2 Band Aid 30 – Do They Know It's Christmas? +1 Band Aid II – Do They Know It's Christmas? Same as Severin for my order, the original is the best by miles then 20 is the only other version I'd like to hear.
  7. Loved these: 3. Kylie Minogue - I Believe In You (2) 6. Destiny's Child - Lose My Breath (4) 8. Green Day - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams (7) 12. Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For (10) But most of all, I absolutely loved The Blower's Daughter
  8. Flava at least sold reasonably well - I couldn't tell you even a note of how it goes but it was pretty easily a #1, I Feel You on the other hand seems to have only just scraped it before falling fast so definitely as close to a non-number one as you can get As for his appeal - Mysterious Girl was undeniably pretty catchy, but his popularity outside of that was solely down to a combination of his looks and a pretty relentless promotion campaign across nearly every tv show available.
  9. Shame that Breathe didn't hang on to beat Peter Andre, such a non-number one

Looking forward to these results. It was a great excuse to re-familiarise myself with everything and I've been listening to my Prince playlist a lot since you began this. Hoping that my favourites from the 90s do well and that the one early track I love also does well. My 80s faves shouldn't require too much hope as I suspect they're pretty much the same as everyone else's
  11. Also - now I can see the votes, what the actual at Sonnet being out ahead here?!!! Surely MUCH better than most of the rest of this list, even if you don't care for the advert itself - Together in Electric Dreams really was awful, that should be going first
  12. Ah that's a relief! I tried going back too but didn't have the prior vote numbers on the back screens. That was weird though, never had that happen before in all the time I've been posting here

  14. Er... I just voted and now it seems to only have my votes?

Arguably Band Aid 40 hasn't charted at all. It doesn't seem to be doing anything at all on streaming so maybe that version did about 8K?
  16. Sash for me, it's not bad but I much prefer the original and I really love the Armand and Daft Punk tracks
  17. 05 The Water Babies - Under The Tree 04 Aimee Mann - Calling On Mary 03 Sarah McLachlan - Wintersong 02 Glasvegas - A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like a Kiss) 01 Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal
  18. Well that's a very fitting winner. Such a huge chart force and undoubtedly the most successful song he was involved in with a real narrative attached to its success. Left To My Own Devices is my favourite of the two tracks, but that is largely down to the lyrics which I find to be brilliantly british and eccentric - the production is still top tier though with all the strings and drama. My favourite PSB track changes on a regular basis but this is always there or there abouts.
  19. I went for 90, 91, 92, 94, 95, 97 and 98  1990 is special for me because it was when I really started to get into music as a kid. It's possibly not as great from an unbiased point of view but there were some fantastic early dance tracks, plus the likes of Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys releasing great albums, and Madonna still flying high off of the Like a Prayer era and the Immaculate Collection. 1991 and 1992 both continued to see the progression of electronic music into the chart and I loved the way it began to take over, and in retrospect there are lots of amazing dance tracks from these years (including some all time faves from Orbital, Massive Attack etc) - also loved the Shamen, KLF, Enigma, Utah Saints etc that still hold really special memories for me now. 1993 was far too reggae, no time for that thanks. 1994 and 1995 were both great, I was really getting into indie music then and britpop was being born at exactly the time when I was hitting my teens and ready to rebel a bit. Couple that with the biggest dance acts moving into territories where they would produce some amazing albums (Music for the Jilted Generation, Exit Planet Dust, Leftism etc) and it was just such an exciting time to be immersed in music. Plus I really got into Tori Amos, PJ Harvey and Bjork etc during these years. 1996 - I liked it at the time but in retrospect a lot of the britpop stuff got quite derivative and the arrival of big pop bands wasn't really to my taste either. 1997 I chose because it was amazing for albums. Dig Your Own Hole and OK Computer are two of my top 5 of all time... we were starting to see the arrival of big beat with Fatboy Slim and Propellerheads etc and French house with Daft Punk, also I was really starting to pay attention to trance music which would define the next few years for me. 1998... and trance continued to build for me with lots of my all time faves being released or re-released that year, plus trip hop was really becoming a big favourite of mine too. Tori Amos and Madonna released two of my all time favourite female led albums too. 1999 was okay but I didn't vote for it. Too pop for my liking at the time and, whilst it is probably remembered as being the year for trance, the tracks weren't as good as the previous couple of years for me - some great singles aside, there wasn't much released that I still listen to now.
  20. I’d already voted but Just Dance for me. At the time I loved it but I don’t ever choose to play it now, it’s dated pretty badly I think
  21. I’m sure we can all unite in the view that Changes is one of the worst songs in the history of the chart
  22. Ask ourselves now can we forgive him, if he begs us to?

The first singles and albums I had as a kid were on vinyl so I do still have some from the very late 80s and early 90s. I haven't kept everything over the years but I've still got an original Like a Prayer album from 1989 and of course the London Boys(!) so that's the oldest I've collected myself. I do also have some of my parents' records so I have some Bowie, Joni Mitchell, Beatles etc that are clearly substantially older
  24. I was first introduced to the FGTH singles when they were re-released in the 90s and back then I didn't get the fuss for Two Tribes and much preferred Relax and The Power of Love. Over time that's completely changed though, the production in particular is just an absolute force driving along for over 10 minutes without me ever getting bored. A shame it couldn't make the top 3, although I'd swap it out with the remaining Frankie track so can't grumble too much. Absolutely love All The Things She Said, definitely one of my favourite singles from the early 00s. Immediately bought the album off the back of it and, whilst nothing else was quite as good, there were a fair few strong tracks on it.
  25. Wow that seems harsh by me for Naked in Manhattan, I actually like that one so god knows what I was thinking - good job it won the tie! Good Luck, Babe to win. I know it’s a bit odd to have a track not on the album winning but it’s by far her best imo
