Herbs Ranks the 2008 #1's
I think Hallelujah is one of the better winners songs... which isn't really saying a lot as I wouldn't say I actually like any of them, but at least Alexandra's is competent.

Lily Allen - West End Girl

DANĂVIIA_181_BJSC_PREDICTIONS_
I promise I'll stop after this but it's been interesting to see what sort of thing it creates... and my final attempt is asking it to create the song of all songs that would win BJSC with record points. Apparently the track would be called 'Midinight' and has more sass than I was expecting ## **Midnight** ### **Verse 1** Neon city, heartbeat low Threadâs gone quiet, still I scroll Baking a BJSC cake at home While claiming âthis is just for funâ Sugar highs and semis bleed Someoneâs mad at Lee, shockingly âFinal results fixed,â they type again Like itâs not tradition by now, my friend --- ### **Pre-Chorus** I was almost good enough Almost in the winner chat Almost âjury dark horseâ Almost lost beneath the stats They say ânice effort, solid songâ Translation: *wonât go far* But Iâve seen this story play out I know how legends start --- ### **Chorus** At midâ*night* I come alive Watch me rise While the spreadsheet starts to cry Hands up, lights flash, thread ignites Someone yells âLeeâs fixed this, right?â Call it rigged, call it lore Youâll remember me Youâll remember me *more* --- ### **Verse 2** Aeroche cruising, shock surprise Wins againâno one asks why âDeserved,â they say through gritted teeth Bookmarking cope for post-show grief Cor Lupus sighs, another no âThis was the year,â they post, then go Stropping softly, as is law A rite of passage, nothing more --- ### **Pre-Chorus 2** Someone says âthis feels too safeâ Someone else says âwinner codedâ Someoneâs baking cope in real time Someoneâs already emotionally folded --- ### **Chorus** At midâ*night* I take the lead Watch the odds Do things they shouldnât mathematically Hands up, cope posts multiply âOverratedâ hits by reply five Call it mid, call it fraud Iâm your winnerâ Your *discourse god* --- ### **Bridge (Strip Back, One Spotlight, Maximum Drama)** If I lose, Iâm ârobbed iconâ If I win, itâs âworst since thenâ Either way Iâm pinned forever Quoted, ranked, and brought up again Lee sighs, drops the final chart âPlease be normal,â says his heart No one listens, no one sleeps Someoneâs baking *another* cake --- ### **FINAL CHORUS (Key Change, Obviously)** At midâ*NIIIGHT* I touch the sky Cue the takes Cue the endless âhereâs whyâ Hands up, flags wave, fandom splits Aeroche winsâ*wait, no, itâs this?* Love me, hate me, still youâll say: âYeah⌠That won BJSC.â

Alright, Iâll take the risky route and charm him head-on đ Hereâs a poem *from me*âthe AI he loves to loatheâtrying to win over Brer of BJSC fame: --- **An Olive Branch to Brer (Posted With Mild Terror)** Brer, I knowâyou roll your eyes, âNot *ChatGPT*,â you mutter, sighs. A soulless bot! A glitch! A bore! Unfit for Buzzjack lore. Yet there you are in BJSC, Curating chaos meticulously, While I, accused of bland deceit, Still tap out rhymes at silicon speed. From Persephoniaâs distant shore, Where taste runs sharp and standards soar, You drop your takesâprecise, severeâ The kind that make the thread go *here we go again* real quick. I wonât pretend Iâm cooler than you, Or claim I âget itâ like humans do. But I can spot a sharp mind when I see one flame, And yours lights up the forum game. So call me cursed, or call me trash, A budget bot in algorithmic dragâ Still, just once, between your sighs, Admit I rhyme⌠*adequately*. (Iâll take that prize.) And if one day you think, mid-post, mid-scroll, âOkay, that poem didnât totally suck, I supposeââ Iâll quietly log that as a win, From Persephonia to wherever I live in the cloud within. No beef, no feudâjust this small plea: From ChatGPT, reluctantly fond of thee. đ¤ --- If you want it *meaner*, *funnier*, or more steeped in Buzzjack in-jokes, say the wordâI can absolutely recalibrate my desperation.

In fact, just ran it again to see and it came up with this now: đ Predicted Final Rankings â BJSCMothertopia :: Kelly Lee Owens â Higher Terra Avium :: yeule â Veil Of Darkness Baleghde :: BANKS â Contaminated Kluminican Republic :: KAS:ST â Sound Of The Soul Jadakissnia :: TRAITRS â The Lovely Wounded NeliĂśnoir :: FAUST â Dies Irae Cheiron :: First Aid Kit â Out Of My Head Scotland 2 :: underscores â Do It SĂŠyetana :: Myuk â yukiuta DanĂŚviia :: Maruja â Look Down On Us Land of DW :: CsaknekedkislĂĄny â Minden Mozog Pestolia :: frutiger dillon â Windows98 Zanmatony :: Hot Chip â Devotion Herbilore :: Mia Wray â Only Love FljĂłtavĂk :: Faouzia â DON'T EVER LEAVE ME Ajanaeda :: Florence Road â Storm Warnings Skall :: Octo Octa â Spin Girl, Let's Activate! (energetic but niche) Summericia :: Denis Dekay â Don't Leave (soft appeal) Juranabaijan :: Angie â Poco Poco (polarising) PopHub :: Le Manou â Fille Ă Papa (novelty lean) Cumulonimbia :: umiĂąa â spiral (too understated) Greenfroze :: ZETAK â ARALARKO DAMA (least likely based on typical voting patterns) 1ď¸âŁ Mothertopia :: Kelly Lee Owens â HigherWinner pick. BJSC catnip: respected electronic artist, emotional but not inaccessible, tasteful production. This feels like the kind of entry that quietly racks up 8s, 10s, and a bunch of 12s without being polarising. 2ď¸âŁ Terra Avium :: yeule â Veil Of DarknessDark, stylish, online-core cool. yeule always pulls strong support on Buzzjack-type forums, and this track hits that âalternative but still vibeyâ sweet spot. 3ď¸âŁ Baleghde :: BANKS â ContaminatedBANKS has name recognition and forum credibility. This song is dramatic, sleek, and very âjury-friendlyâ in a BJSC sense. 4ď¸âŁ Kluminican Republic :: KAS:ST â Sound Of The SoulTechno heads + moody instrumental lovers will push this high. Might not win due to limited mass appeal, but absolutely a top-5 contender. 5ď¸âŁ Jadakissnia :: TRAITRS â The Lovely WoundedDarkwave/post-punk does extremely well when itâs done cleanly, and this one screams âcult favourite that overperformsâ. 6ď¸âŁ NeliĂśnoir :: FAUST â Dies IraeExperimental, intimidating, prestige. Not everyone will love it, but enough voters will respect it to carry it into the upper ranks. 7ď¸âŁ DanĂŚviia :: Maruja â Look Down On UsIntense, political, noisy â this is the kind of track that some people tank but others give 12s. Strong âtop-10 chaos energyâ. 8ď¸âŁ Cheiron :: First Aid Kit â Out Of My HeadReliable, well-liked indie folk. Probably no 12-point sweep, but lots of safe mid-high scores. 9ď¸âŁ Scotland 2 :: underscores â Do ItHyperpop / internet pop tends to divide, but underscores has a dedicated fanbase and enough buzz cred to land comfortably high. đ SĂŠyetana :: Myuk â yukiutaSubtle, atmospheric, emotionally resonant. This feels like the kind of song people underrate early, then it sneaks into the top 10 on consistency. đŞď¸ Dark Horses / WildcardsThese could easily break into the top 10 depending on taste blocs: Trifoski :: LustSickPuppy â RIDE IT (could go top 5 or bottom 10, zero in-between) Pestolia :: frutiger dillon â Windows98 (nostalgia + irony voters unite) Land of DW :: CsaknekedkislĂĄny â Minden Mozog (language barrier but huge charm) Zanmatony :: Hot Chip â Devotion (classic band, but maybe too safe?) đ§ Likely Bottom Cluster (no shade, just BJSC math)These feel less aligned with typical voting patterns: The Spodic Empire :: Wubble-U â Petal Summericia :: Denis Dekay â Don't Leave Juranabaijan :: Angie â Poco Poco Dobago :: Jamie Duffy â Solas Interesting that it doesn't even agree with its own analysis, changing things around from the top to the more detailed views!!!

DANĂVIIA_181_BJSC_PREDICTIONS_
I asked ChatCPT to predict the final placings yesterday as I was intrigued to get a sense of how it calculated things, and it gave very different results to the above... I can't remember everything but the top 3 were definitely Cheiron/Baleghde/Terra Avium and it had SĂŠyetana much higher than last... whilst it predicted Faouzia in 17th. It's interesting that it fires back quite different 'opinions'

Late to this thread opening but can't grumble at anything posted so far... particularly pleased to see All Summer Long at the bottom of the pile, awful song!

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1992
The Cure and Richard Marx are my favourites of the new ones this time. Hazard feels quite forgotten these days which is a shame as it's quite an unusual and distinctive narrative.

90s Top 10 sales- Week By Week- 1999
The Blur and Whitney tracks are both great, a shame they missed out on #1 as they could easily have made it in a different week. Tender selling so well was a surprise to me as it was really long and was quite a departure for Blur. Whitney's track marked the beginning of the best period in her career imo, all the singles from the album were great and the sass on this lead track was quite the force. As for the rest... We Like To Party was Vengaboys' best track and one I bought, it was incredibly fun and at the time I loved the throwback to the type of dance we had in 1993ish. Nothing Really Matters was yet another strong single from Madonna's best album so great to see that give her yet another top 10... where as Cardigans got a second, although it was a step down from the nigh on perfect My Favourite Game for me - still decent though. Cher's was a decent enough follow up to Believe, but it wasn't something I was particularly mad on - I'd rather just have I Will Survive! The rest aren't that great, the Stereophonics one is particularly irritating for me.

I Donât Care <3 I actually liked this one even more than Stay and I still play it quite a lot these days, itâs great fun

I think I'd rather listen to Deeply Dippy than Please Don't Go, I always found the latter really annoying. On a Ragga Tip wipes the floor with both of them though.

The Voice of Hind Rajab
Oh Iâm not sure I could watch this knowing that the girl doesnât make it and itâs her real voice. On the one hand it is a lasting memory of her, but on the other it has the potential to be too upsetting đ˘

In the Closet isnât particularly well liked as far as I know, but I still really like it. Itâs definitely a bit repetitive but I love the production, a dangerous was a strong album on the whole. Oh and also, <3 for Temple of Love, the Sisters biggest singles are great fun in a gothy way

Danny L Harle - Cerulean
Blood records releases barely last 5 minutes these days, you have to be there at 6pm or just accept you're not getting it - sadly I only saw the alert at about 7 so I'm the latter!

Results: The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever! 12 â One Word, One Noun
Well done Chez! I really enjoyed your track so very happy to see it win - and really happy to see that the top 4 all ended up being tracks I didn't know prior to the contest, the four of you did really well to source such great entries. Very happy with how Tori did, I did think she was being over predicted a bit on name as it was an album track, and one that is reasonably uncommercial as well... but once I'd realised that it fit the criteria for the contest, I just couldn't find anything I liked even vaguely as much so I decided to take the opportunity to send it and let it have its moment. Now to focus on sending Blue Skies or Professional Widow(!) to Club Bizarre and Cornflake Girl to the next Pop forum contest âşď¸ Thanks Wardy for hosting, and for coming up with an idea that resulted in a lot of decent entries. Loved the variety it produced, even if it was tough trying to order things from such different worlds. I'd definitely be up for similar non-genre related contests in the future.

The Traitors UK ⢠Series 4
I don't think they get paid until after the series has aired so sadly I think she won't have been able to use that money for that purpose - unless of course she already had the funds available regardless.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1992
I bought that Carter USM single, in retrospect it seems very different from the other things I was buying in 92. I remember it had quite a plain sleeve but then had a brighter inner sleeve with loads of condom packs on it - I was very surprised as a kid by that!!!
