Love To Rate You- The Erasure UK Singles Rate
Both of those are wonderful. Chorus was the first Erasure single I bought and it was a huge favourite of mine in 1991. I still listen to it very regularly now and it has held up really well. There's something really brilliant about the production of a lot of the tracks from that album, I assume they were going for a sort of Moroder sound because they seemed to strip out any bass and rely solely on the analogue sounding synths to layer up the album. It's my joint favourite of theirs and I was obsessed with the whole album, my parents must have got so sick of hearing it. Ship of Fools is lovely. In retrospect it was possibly an odd choice of lead single given some of the more obvious choices available but I do still think it is a 10/10 track.

The BMRB Years- Top 10 Sales
Pretty much agree. Hungry Like the Wolf is by far my favourite. Adam Ant and Abracadabra are both decent enough for me but the other seven are pretty bad. 1982 has been very mediocre so far imo

Disease ● 2nd single
It’s very classic Gaga, would believe it was a reworked idea from the BTW era. Liking it on first couple of plays. Will be interesting to see what this does on Spotify. I have no idea what to expect but I’m not sure I see solo Gaga as being a huge draw to a Spotify audience and I’m not sure how much the general public want this sort of thing back. I’d love for my gut to be wrong though as it would be great to see this smash.

I’ll side with Snake on this one, Happy Talk really isn’t it.

Drama! was the first Erasure single I really loved so it was always going to do well with me. Glad it managed top 10 here, even if the individual scores are still very mixed at this stage. I love the lyrics to it, it's so appropriately overdramatic in its content and the way the production builds and builds is equally apt. Oh L'amour is fine but not an absolute favourite. It should have charted though, definitely didn't deserve such a low peak.

Mango's Chart Quiz: SONG PICTIONARY PART 2
I think the difficulty level is comparable to the first one tbh. I think I've got an answer for them all now, although there's two in particular I'm not 100% sure on.

I like that Stevie Wonder track, although it is incredibly long on the album! I’m surprised to read that Original Musiquarium did so poorly, it’s a great compilation

Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat
Sad that she missed out in the US but delighted she managed #1 here in the UK. This really has been such a strong year for Charli, it’s pretty much beyond any possible expectations and is such a success story

There are a couple there that are too high for my liking, but on the whole that’s a pretty representative list of their biggest singles

I’m similar to Ally that I think I find it a little irritating, I feel like maybe it’s got a bit too much going on. When I hear it I do like it more than I anticipate I’m going to though

Forgot to comment on E-Bow the Letter… it’s one of my favourites from REM, such a great song and from one of my favourite albums of theirs too

The BMRB Years- Top 10 Sales
Much improved since my last comment in here… Adam Ant’s track is fun, whilst Soft Cell, Yazoo, ABC, Duran Duran and Junior all had great songs

You Surround Me is wonderful, I particularly love the way it builds and the breakdown in the middle

90s Top 10 Sales- Week By Week- 1996
Virtual Insanity Spinning the Wheel is one of the George tracks I like more, another good new entry. Space and Kula Shaker were both great fun tracks… and One to Another is peak Charlatans, they were definitely inspired by Tim’s work with the Chemical Brothers imo

Breath of Life is another fave, nice choice of top pointer ^_^ Surprised that Stay With Me made it this high. I like it but I assumed that most people didn’t as it performed pretty badly in the charts and doesn’t seem well remembered

Honestly who gives a shit whether the new manager is English or not

Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat
I am not happy. My vinyl was due to be delivered today and I’m in Seville so I asked for it to be delayed until I’m back home next week. They accepted and said they would deliver next Friday… and then promptly ‘delivered’ it today by sending me a photo of it on my doorstep FFS

Mango's Chart Quiz (Week 7) - NMTB: The Results
Oh yay! I didn’t get to check the final results yesterday but I thought that my useless guessing for bonus points could scupper my chances, glad it didn’t ^_^ Thanks for hosting again Mango. It was definitely a nice twist on the usual format and some of them took some figuring out
