That a-ha track is great, I love their second album where they went a bit more gothic in lyrical style. It’s quite Bond-esque as well I feel, perhaps even more so than their actual Bond track!

I’ll be interested to see whether Faouzia does manage to do that well. I really like the track (and really like the album also) and personally think it’s much stronger than her older material, but when I asked how it went I heard that it got largely the opposite thoughts in the listen through - which perhaps shouldn’t be too surprising as my taste in pop is definitely different to most of the more passionate pop music fans on the site. I feel like it may appeal more to alt fans than her previous entries did, but there’s also a lot of strong alt and electronic tracks that I’d expect those people to like more. My gut is that it may end up being one of those songs that most people like, but not many people aside from myself really like… - but we shall see how it pans out! For me, I’d be delighted to see Bøtanikkä do well from those I’ve seen mentioned, it seems like a really distinctive entry. And, although well known, the Banks and First Aid Kit tracks are pretty great too. I naturally also like a lot of the more alt electronic stuff too but I’m not sure I can see any of them getting enough support to win. Need to familiarise myself more with a lot of SF1 though

The weird thing for me at the time was I’d completely bypassed all hype so I was totally surprised to see it #1. I don’t think I’d even ever heard it before it was played on the chart show.

Relieved to be through after scanning the thread and it was getting closer and closer to the end! FSR Rontvia and Kathaldazia are two huge losses for me, can’t believe that they didn’t make it as I thought both would be comfortably in 😢

Just listening to the Harry track now for the first time on youtube and I'm pleasantly surprised, I love the production and the video seems to really complement the track. I think it's a good return from him and it makes me very intrigued to see what else will be on the album

Some good tracks appearing since I last commented, most notably… High is just a joy, for a band so associated with gloomy gothic styles they really are great at upbeat jangly pop music. Why is a lovely track from Annie Lennox. At the time I thought it was a little pedestrian but Diva turned out to be a strong album. Love the production on second single Precious, which sadly won’t be appearing in this thread. Breath of Life completed a fantastic run of singles from Erasure. Chorus was my most listened to album at this point and I was relieved when this made the top 10 after the lovely Am I Right? had missed out. I remember being really shocked as a kid when it stalled as I think I just assumed Erasure were bigger than they were, just because I liked them so much. Breath of Life was ramped up a notch for its single release, a good idea as the middle bit in particular sounded much more dance influenced, however I do wish it still had the lovely intro that the album version has.

Just caught up and Kate went far too early!! I feel that the audience just didn't like the costume/character as much as the others as surely they didn't think it was the worst performance ☹️

I honestly can't believe that Rachel has managed to do that but I'm so happy that she did it! It was the outcome I wanted the most but I never in a million years thought they would actually do it!!!! The way Jack still couldn't see what was happening even after they'd turned on Jade and Faraaz just summed up the whole thing.

Oh no Rachel!!!! You should have got rid of Faraaz, it was the wrong move getting rid of Roxy... although it did amuse that Roxy was 100% wrong all the way until the end, going out by wanting Rachel or Stephen to win 😂

I’m not sure if I just instinctively want the traitors to win due to the nature of the programme but in both series I’ve watched (this and celebrity) I’ve had zero interest in seeing an outcome where the faithfuls win. I’ll be so underwhelmed if we do end up with a Jack/Jade/Roxy/Faraaz victory

I realised when I saw the cover art that I actually have that Dan Black album somewhere, I'd not thought about it in many a year though (edit - I say I have it "somewhere" when obviously what I mean is that it will be filed in its correct position alphabetically with the CD carefully lined up within its case to ensure it is not at an improper angle)

Faraaz has put his views out there now so they're all heard it and he seems really unlikely to shift from going all in now... but the edit definitely made it look like they had chosen Roxy with them saying they need to really rely on each other more than ever now - which in turn makes me think they did choose Faraaz. If I were Rachel I'd choose to get rid of him and control the narrative myself more, rather than leave him in and risk him controlling it. The balance feels like she has more to lose if he stays.

It’s difficult to see how they’re not suspecting them at all… although there’s always the chance that they were talking about them but we’re not seeing it to fit a narrative the producers want at this point in the show maybe?

I think I was probably hoping that Leona would win out of the two left, both are songs I'd never choose to put on but when I do hear Bleeding Love I do at least think it is a really strong single... where as the one that's left to come is one I've always been a little baffled by in terms of how successful it was, it's okay enough but I wouldn't class it among my faves from her.

I would definitely play it the way that guy did on Golden Balls once in that case - I'd be clear that I'd be choosing to steal it all but also be clear that I would actually split it 50/50 with the other person on the basis they chose to share. I do think that's the best tactic by far for that game (and I would genuinely have every intention of sharing it as well)
