I know it’s already been said but how wonderful to see Danceteria getting support from Radio 1. I often feel like Madonna is almost under appreciated these days - which probably sounds odd given how huge a career she’s had but she deserves to have her back catalogue of singles stream as well as other huge acts like Michael Jackson, Elton John or Fleetwood Mac. I don’t think she gets the credit she deserves for such an astonishing run of singles and styles over the years and it’s become the norm for the media to be cruel towards her just because she’s not ageing in the way they think she should… so it’s really nice to see her receiving positive press again for once and managing to get playlisted again <3

Voted earlier. I can’t say I was that keen on SF2 if I’m honest. Some okay stuff but not sure there’s anything that I’ll be play listing after the contest ends. I haven’t heard SF1 at all yet so hopefully there’s more that resonate with me from there

I’d be happy enough to see Wonderwall finally make #1 if it was to do it. I know it’s hugely overplayed but I adored it back when it was released, rather that than 3 Lions yet again.

That’s a great start to week 2 when you consider a lot of #1 albums drop heavily. I hope she holds top 10 but I’m happy as I’d initially feared it would go 1-57 or something!

Roxette are a big childhood favourite of mine, their singles from the first two albums are really wonderful pop songs

Obviously I would love to see a revival for this, but I don’t see it happening past the immediate tour effect. I was over the moon to see it pass one million in sales consumption this week though, I wouldn’t have thought it was anywhere near so that was such a lovely surprise

That’s great sales for any song from the early 90s!! Take out the rare long runners like Whitney & Bryan Adams and I suspect Meat Loaf sold quite a bit more than the vast majority of other #1s This list will be heavily biased towards the second half of the 90s when sales were significantly better so any acts from 90-94 will have done really well to feature

Lots of songs I like now… Papa Don’t Preach is my favourite to feature so far but I definitely do prefer at least two of the remaining tracks so it would be top 3 at best. The one I’m not sure about is George Michael, I really can’t recall it at all which makes me think I’m not bothered about it at all. I did have a flick through the video of it you posted but it still doesn’t really sound that familiar, even though I’ve definitely heard it before as I bought his best of.
