To be fair, I don’t believe there’s anything out there to definitely suggest they haven’t been counted - aside from it generating less of a sales increase than may have been hoped for. It’s possible that iTunes album sales really are just that low

I could have sworn anything above £3.75 counts. What makes you think they haven’t been counted?

I do! Not everything by any means but I prefer to have downloads for now of things I want in the versions I like rather than just what’s on a streaming platform. I appreciate I’m very much in the minority though!

For such a huge albums act, REM really never managed to crack the singles chart at all.

I can see where you’re coming from here… the original Confessions definitely has a core group of amazing tracks but it did also have a few that weren’t up to that (very high) standard - either through very clunky lyrics or just not being as strong. I absolutely forgive them in the album as everything else is so strong but I usually switch it off after Isaac and even then I’d skip How High if it wasn’t mixed in. Confessions II is a very different experience but I agree that there’s nothing on it I’d consider to be bad. We’ve listened to it about ten times over on holiday and it’s just really strong album - even Bring Your Love and Love Sensation have grown on me; albeit they’re still the least essential tracks for me. The former does work well before Dancetaria though. For me it’s a very different project to the original Confessions and all the better for it. It’s just smart marketing to link the album back to it to get people to listen and generate much more media interest. My only slight grumble is I’m not mad on the aesthetics for the album, but I’ll wait until I’m back in the UK to judge it properly in person.

I’ll need to think on this one but it definitely doesn’t remind me that much of the first Confessions album.

Oh I would honestly vote Binface between those two. Would be the most amusing thing ever if Nige lost to the Count! And honestly, if all the opposition aren’t standing and it goes to a vote for or against Farage then there is a chance Binface could do pretty well

Haha - not saying there won’t be others, but there’s definitely one song I think has a very broad appeal

I’ve only heard the few I knew before the contest and I think there’s a good chance one of them will landslide it as well

I also think it’s pretty great, it’s getting a bit of a hard time from fans imo

Rock Me Amadeus is by far my favourite to appear so far. I can see why some wouldn’t like it but for me it’s a great example of slightly bonkers euro pop that I’m pleased made number one here
