Hits of 2013
I'm not sure My Life will but the other two certainly could. I actually think quite a few of those in Hits list could be potential big hits/#1s if given the right promo though I'd imagine Gabrielle/Imagine Dragons will help their albums more but you never know. Will.I.Am/Britney is now out next week so probably won't be #1 now though it'll probably hang around in the New Year. Hits - I agree with most of your list but I very much doubt Samantha will get a release here since its a X Factor winners single and can't see it doing anything outside Australia/NZ (though I'd LOVE it to).

Hits of 2013
There seems to be quite alot of potential big hits (and possible #1s) but the only song I'm sure that will be #1 is Thrift Shop IMO. I have thought of another song though Vato Gonzalez vs Lethal Bizzle & Donae'O - Not A Saint. I actually think this could reach #1 in early January. The official video has only been on youtube for 2 weeks and has almost 3 million views already :o I'll sound like a broken record but I am still surprised no label has released I Follow Rivers by Lykke Li (Remix). From its massive success in Europe (including being #2 in Ireland only 2 months ago) it seems an obvious hit IMO, especially as I could see Radio 1 backing it. Its not even available on itunes so you never know. Its annoying when big European hits aren't given the chance here. On a side note, I am thoroughly glad this thread was started, I've discovered quite a few songs from it. :w00t:

Samantha Jade - What You've Done To Me
LOVE this song, really hope it crosses over internationally but we all know it won't. I think it would stand a better chance if it wasn't for X Factor though. Australian TV ratings are weird though I think?. 2 million is great but those ratings are only from the big capital cities. For some reason they don't include the small towns/rural areas (almost like they don't matter) as far as I know. I've never understood why. The Voice final had something like 2.5million in the cities but overall it was reported well over 3M watched it in total.

Hits of 2013
As soon as I saw this thread I thought of Thrift Shop. Its surely gonna be January's big #1 hit. Not sure there's much else really (though thats obviously hard to say at this point). I do wonder why Lykke Li I Follow Rivers was never given a chance here, its was massive in Europe and given got to #2 in Ireland the other month but its probably too late for that now. As soon as I heard Battle Scars by Guy Sebastian I thought that could be big, its already the second best selling single in Australia by an Ozzie (behind Gotye) and I do hope it gets a push next year. Could MSK (old Sugababes) be big next year as well? (though thats not something we've heard yet)

Girls Aloud - Something New

The Irish Chart Thread 2012
Shaky - Did you ever receive your copy of the official charts of 2011? I think you mentioned it the other week about the year book you usually receive?

The Irish Chart Thread 2012
Nowhere near that. Rocky Road to Island sold 10,000 in its first 2 weeks this year and was the fastest seller of the year (suggesting approx 5k a week). Sometime chart track will give clues. I'd suggest about 2k to reach #1 most weeks (ish). Perhaps a bit less or more sometimes.

X Factor 2012 - live shows week 1
That was absolutely mad! Did anyone see that guy (presumingly the producer) whisper something in Louie's ear? Me and sis just said we bet he told him to take it to deadlock. I don't blame Gary for walking off TBH.

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 30th September 2012
I personally don't think it could be ruled out. It wouldn't surprise me if SHM is behind at the beginning of the week but overtakes Adele by next weekend once her hype has died down (if not officially then at least on itunes).

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 30th September 2012
Just noticed that Swedish House Mafia is #9 on the album charts as an EP preorder. I actually think thats gonna give Adele a big fight next week and it wouldn't surprise me if Adele gets stuck at #2 next week. It could be close IMO (especially as Adele will be split between two weeks).

Predict: One Direction - Live While We're Young
Whilst I agree with this, I believe Adele has Skyfall coming out during October (film is out late October) and I can see her having an OA/OS strategy to be honest. I'd certainly say she'd be a contender. Apparently Rihanna has new stuff coming out but again, there is no official release date yet. OD is definately going to #1 with big sales. I can see it going to #1 in a few countries as well.

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 16th September 2012
I actually don't agree with that. Of course it could fizzle out but countries like Australia are loving the song and they are known not to embrace foreign language stuff. The song is close to top 10 in itunes with internet hype but few TV or radio airplay, just think what it could do in a couple of weeks if Radio 1 and The Box etc get fully behind it.

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 16th September 2012
Too true, its already looking set to reach #1 in alot of Europe already plus has a very good chance of doing it in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the US over the coming weeks. I can't see why the UK or Ireland would be any different. I don't even think it would need a quiet to even do it if it takes off properly. I suspect its main problem (like Moves Like Jagger last year) will be the big one weekers during October, so I can see it getting stuck at #2 or #3 behind the likes of One Direction, Swedish House Mafia, Leona etc and then we have potential new releases from JLS, Rihanna, Kesha, Robbie, Adele that could all be big as well. I think October could be quite competitive for UK #1s personally :o

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 9th September 2012
Is Gangnam Style being played anywhere on TV? I know its been played by radio a tad. Seems odd how its already itunes #1 in alot of Europe plus USA/Canada/New Zealand and Australia and isn't even top 20 here. It could see it taking off majorily once TV music stations take it up, I wouldn't even rule out #1 during October at some point either.

Hitstastic International Top 30 - 2012
Hi Hits Hope you've been keeping well. I always enjoy the Hits Top 30, looks like One Day could be the next big one! Could you do me a favour and post the #1s from 2010-2012 (up to date)? :w00t:

Australia and Birdy
An X Factor contestant sang it on Monday night's premier episode. It will probably begin falling in the coming days. Even so, she should get a top 10 single and album out of it!
-
David Guetta ft. Sia - She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)
I was wondering when this would 'officially' premier but having a look on German Amazon, She Wolf is actually out to download on Tuesday 21st August. Its bound to be released virtually everywhere at the same time but no doubt they will hold it back in the UK

Radio 1 Playlist (08/08/12)
On itunes, it lists the EP as:- 1) Version with Becky 2) Original 3) Version with Pitbull Will be interesting on how it does, I think it could do quite well, top 10 at least if it gets support. I wonder what if its the original version being played on TV or if they have made a newer one with the UK edit on?

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 5th August 2012
It always surprises me that it was never a massive hit in the UK, it had all the makings of a massive hit but it barely made the top 20. It was massive (including #1) in many countries, it even cracked the US top 30 didn't it?

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 22nd July 2012
Yeah its shot to #3 on Irish itunes, it got rush released as a fake version was getting quite high. I am quite jealous of the Irish itunes, they seem to get big international hits early there. Oh I forgot about Fun, I personally think that has the potential to be a #1 here during September if it gets the right support.
-
iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 22nd July 2012
I think from mid August to early September its gonna be quite hectic with loads of potential top 10/#1 contenders. Obviously Rita is likely to be #1. After that, Owl City/Carly will be out by then and Sam & The Womp could pull in a surprise, then 26th August as you said above. Even Of Monsters & Men could do well considering its already top 3 in Ireland. On the 3rd September you have Pink, Script, Ne-Yo with Tulisa and The Killers on the 10th. That doesn't even include potential rumours of new Gaga or any climbing hits like Cheryl Cole... And to think July was so dead!

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 22nd July 2012
I agree with your predictions above though I am not convinced Little Mix will do it, I wonder when they will release the video? I would also say Fun and the new Script song are contenders as well. I wouldn't even be surprised if Michel Telo gets a top 5/10 either as his label seem to be hyping it abit (of course it could also flop). I think Lady Gaga's success will depend on how good the song is, if its another great song then it has every chance of #1. She had massive hype for Born This Way which I am not sure she will get again
