iTunes Chart: Weekly Thread W/C 8th April 2012
Anyone else rather surprised that Fun's label didn't rush release We Are Young? That fake version is getting quite high. While it has every chance of getting to #1 still, I can't but think that it may turn out to be the next MLJ. This week it will be Carly or Justin at #1, then I can see one weekers from Conor Maynard, Calvin/Ne-Yo, Tulisa (now out 30th apparently), Rita Ora etc. Then the new Wanted song is out at the end of May. It wouldn't surprise me if it gets stuck to be honest if its released early <_<

iTunes Chart: Weekly Thread W/C 1st April 2012
This may have been noticed already but the fake versions of Fun (We are Young) have been deleted again. Just don't understand why the label just doesn't release it. Other fake versions will begin climbing again in the coming days.

The Irish Chart Thread 2012
Shaky, do you have Titanium's chart run so far? Its remarkable how well its held up and it didn't even reach the top. Having said that, I am almost certain that if it hadn't have been a hit during the Autumn it would have been #1 early 2012 like the UK

Gezza's Review Of Every No 2 Single 2000-2004
Great thread, thoroughly enjoying it but haven't you missed A1 (Caught in the middle?) I remember being gutted that Shakira was released the same week as Will. A week earlier and Shakira would have probably been #1!

Potential Upcoming Number 1 singles
8th Apr Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe (Unless something happens I fully expect this to be #1) 15th Apr Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe 22nd Apr Conor Maynard - Can't Say No (Apparently its now released on the 16th not 30th? I don't itunes has changed the date yet) 29th Apr Calvin Harris / Ne-yo - Let's Go (Surprised not many people have predicted this one. Its kinds generic but think it will be big, especially if the video comes out in the next 2 weeks) 6th May fun. ft. Janelle Monae - We Are Young (I suspect the label will bring this forward and can see it climbing to #1 around this week like 5-2-1) 13th May Rita Ora ft. Tinie Tempah - R.I.P. OR Tulisa. (Can't decide at the moment and it wouldn't surprise me if RIP is brought forward) 20th May fun. ft. Janelle Monae - We Are Young (climbs back to #1) 27th May fun. ft. Janelle Monae - We Are Young Sadly, I think Starships has had its chance, it will certainly reclimb/peak but I can't see it. Never say never though.

Potential Upcoming Number 1 singles
Agreed. But as it stands Calvin Harris is out the same week as Carly Rae Jepsen so that could be an interesting battle. I am pretty convinced the label will bring the release for CMM forward, they surely can't wait another 3 weeks to release it, must be close to the top 10 combined now? If Carly is brought forward, then I think Calvin will likely go to #1. Fun will be HUGE and again, I can't see them waiting until mid May to release it. Noticed Tulisa is out the same week as Rita Ora and I can see RIP being a big contender as well.

iTunes Chart: March 2012 (Part III)
Surely its only a matter of time before Carly Rae Jepsen's labels releases Call Me Maybe? Well you'd think so anyway. The fakes are gonna get quite high otherwise. The same goes for We Are Young, can't see how they can wait until mid May.

iTunes Chart: March 2012 (Part III)
I find it quite frustrating to be honest. I can understand that they want song to have high peaks (thats one of the main goals for any act or label) but there is absolutely no need to build up demand for 6-8 weeks anymore. I mean there are fakes of Justin Bieber after less than a day, it'd easily be top 10 by now if the label had released it today. It still wouldn't surprise me if Call Me Maybe and We Are Young release dates as moved forward though otherwise the fake versions are going to get rather high. UK act labels tend to stick to their release dates so I expect RIP and Let's Go for example, to stick with their dates at the moment. Let's Go Vs Call Me Maybe could be an interesting chart battle w/c 23/4/12.

iTunes Chart: March 2012 (Part III)
I wonder if Carly Rae Jepsen's label will bring forward the release for Call Me Maybe? There are already 3/4 versions shooting up and I really can't see them waiting until 23rd April as I can see them all getting quite high in the next couple of weeks. It'll backfire if they leave it too long. I still have no idea why Record labels still insist on holding songs back so long, especially with all the fakes about. Some get on itunes very quickly!

PREDICT: Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
Exactly, I hope her label sees sense and releases it sooner, say 9th April. It'd still probably go to #1 if released earlier, especially as it now has radio 1 backing.

PREDICT: Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
I really want this to go to #1 but according to the release schedule, the new Calvin Harris/Ne'yo is out the same week which I can potentially beating it.

Radio 1 Playlist (21/03/12)
Great for Calvin Harris and Carly. I guess Calvin was a certainty anyway. Does anyone know when Let's Go is out? I am presuming at the end of April judging by its inclusion this week?

Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe

iTunes Chart: March 2012 (Part I)
For anyone who uses Livepop this has just been posted on the website:- ''iTunes have stopped providing in-context pop bar information. I am going to see if I can get this back, but in the meantime this site will display the live rankings feed from iTunes without popularity bars. The albums and videos charts still work; the app will not work until the pop bars return. I can still get the pop bars back through more arcane methods, however this requires a complete rewrite of all my code and may take days or even weeks, so bare with me.''

Melodifestivalen 2012 / ANDRA CHANSEN/FINAL
Isn't it a little unfair that you can still vote? I mean in theory, surely all Danny fans can go into voting overdrive?

Melodifestivalen 2012 / ANDRA CHANSEN/FINAL
I know that the final drawer is important but I take it the winner isn't always the song that performs last? I am not sure what positions previous winners were but I think Eric was last last year wasn't he?

iTunes Chart: February 2012 (Part III)
Does anyone know if Nicki Minaj has made a video yet for Starships? Considering its got to #3 on both hype and only radio airplay its doing very well. As soon as the video drops it really wouldn't surprise me if it challenged for #1 in a few weeks. There really isn't much out in the next few weeks but I reckon the new Katy Perry, JLS (#1 then quick drop?) and Chris Brown will all be big during March.

Melodifestivalen HEATS 2012
Its my first very show tonight and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Don't they have ads though? And what time do they begin to show whos gone through etc? I won't comment on them all but I rather enjoyed Lisa's song. Danny's performance really impressed me especially with the breakdown (and lights). However, his vocals were quite poor, I don't remember In The Club being like that last year? I personally thought though that it WOULD go to the Eurovision final if chosen, and could do rather well IMO (needs to work on the vocals though)

iTunes Chart: February 2012 (Part III)
I Don't think Dappy is out in Ireland yet unti tomorrow. For reason the odd song doesn't get released until the Sunday (which is silly considering it loses 2 days worth of sales). The same thing happened with DJ Fresh a couple of weeks ago.

iTunes Chart: February 2012 (Part II)
Does anyone know why Call Me Maybe has suddenly begun to rise loads today? Seems rather random unless its beginning to get airplay from somewhere?

iTunes Chart: February 2012 (Part I)
Gotye is an odd one, it climbs quite quickly during the day and then begins to fall back during the evening. I'd imagine it will pull away again tomorrow and on Friday to get a decent lead but it will be tight. Completely agree with the weekend effect comment. Even if Gotye does get a good lead, it will fall back quite quickly during Saturday (like last week) which will probably make the difference. Next week I'm almost certain DJ Fresh will be #1, it will be very front loaded but I can't see it NOT getting to #1. Had Emeli Sande not had her album out next week then it would put up a big challenge but her album will go to #1 anyway. Gotye's main chance will be the week after next (unless a Brits performance is big enough).
