The **Irish** Chart Thread 2010
Thanks for the lists above Shaky, I've really enjoyed the Irish charts this year (even more so than UK) but then I usually do anyway. Pleasantly surprised how Train, Edward Maya managed being massive #1s there plus Ireland rarely has non#1s either (only Glee would count this year IMO). Judging by the pop bars on itunes I'd say BOB or Eminem will be the next #1 (or may be Travie McCoy as 2 fake versions are quite high). I wonder who the best seller of the year is so far, it wouldnt surprise me if it was Jedward actually

iTunes Chart: July 2010
JLS will be #1 on the next update then which is no surprise. It will be interesting to see how it holds up over the week. Yolanda is finally making headway now, though interesting its now the extended version that is higher (the radio edit is far too short) it should top 10 later (also note its top 2 on the album chart so may be near top 10 already). Eliza up to #13, I'm pleasantly surprised :o

iTunes Chart: July 2010
True but I would imagine plenty of fans may have already pre-ordered it? I actually just looked and Yolanda is already #19 on the album chart :o . JLS will win I'd expect but Yolanda could sell very well next week (if its out)

iTunes Chart: July 2010
Too true, JLS will easily go to #1 but I'm keeping my fingers crossed Yolanda can do something the following week (assuming it enters at #2 and doesnt fall in sales quickly). I'm pretty sure JLS will only have the 1 week and Professor Green will NOT reach #1 so who knows. It will definately outsell it by the end of its run anyway. There's been quite a few non #1s that are having great totals this year (for example Airplanes will easily beat Nothin' On you's total even though the latter reached #1). I'm pretty sure Billionnaire is going to reach #1 at the end of July unless The Wanted pull something out of the bag :o

iTunes Chart: July 2010
I wonder if AATW will get this newer (awful) version of Americano at #101 deleted off itunes tomorrow  Its obvious that they are just holding out now to get a #1 (which they will miss out now if they are releasing on Sunday against JLS). Marco version is now up to #17
-
iTunes Chart: July 2010
Agreed, though I really can't see them staying at #1 for a second week. The following week Green/Lily are out but for me personally,I can see that peaking at #3/4 so in theory it could climb. Actually it really wouldnt surprise me if Katy reclimbs either. This is of course if Americano is actually out on Sunday.

iTunes Chart: July 2010
Oh no, wise decision really but I was really beginning to think Americano had a good chance of #1 so will be disappointing, though wouldnt it be hilarious if it beat JLS (i know slim chance), could climb too i guess.

iTunes Thread: June 2010 (V)
It must have been a mistake not making it download only, as they've made a few songs album only (not Stromae though which surprises me a little). Considering Americano isn't out for another 3 weeks its very likely going to go top 3 at least
-
Clubland 17
Looks rather good but I don't get why songs are put on these compilations so far in advance, Yolanda, Stromae etc arent out for weeks so its seem odd they are on here when it could hinder the chances a bit when they come out?

New Release Schedule (Physical) : Monday 28 June
I think Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup - We No Speak Americano may be out the previous week as Radio1 have stated out the 19th July plus on itunes you can pre-order it for expected date 18/7/10, unless the physical is out the following week?

Good Delta Hit Parade: 28th June 2010
Well I usually trust your opinion so hoping Kylies new album is good, I've managed to avoid leaks so far but I'll be buying it the Monday its out. Oh don't say that about Alors On Danse, I was feeling abit more positive earlier :P Seriously I think it could go either way, annoyingly the only reason it wont get playlisted is because its in french I think but i do think you could be right. We will soon know in the next few weeks. I'm just keeping everything crossed :cheer:

Good Delta Hit Parade: 28th June 2010
Great chart as usual Rich, here are a few comments:- 1. Shakira feat Freshlyground - Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) (3) (CR-21-13-4-3-1) - Really like this, her 8th? Is that your all time record? 2. Kylie Minogue - All The Lovers (1) (CR-9-1-3-3-2-1-2) Love it but getting a tad bored of it, looking forward to the album though. 3. Lena Meyer-Landrut - Satellite (2) (CR-5-5-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-2-3) Longest Runner 4. Katy Perry feat Snoop Dogg - California Gurls (4) (CR-6-3-4-4-7-4-4) LOVE it, glad its heading for UK #1 5. K’Naan - Wavin’ Flag (5) (CR-23-32-8-5-5) 7. Lady GaGa - Alejandro (8) (CR-45-24-37-32-23-23-OUT-40-34-30-34-38-9-5-8-7) 9. Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup - We No Speak Americano (31) (CR-41-31-9) A Real grower IMO, alot of people are predicting top 5 for this but I think it could be a contender for #1 myself. 12. Stromae - Alors On Danse (19) (CR-41-39-25-18-12-9-8-9-13-17-OUT-19-12) Probably one of my favs of the year, so glad you are charting it again. I do hope Radio 1 doesnt ignore it and it doesnt flops here (think ill be a bit nervous over the coming wednesday as the R1 playlist comes out lol. I'd love #1 but realistically there is loads of competition so dont think it will happen. If this fails to go top 10 i'll be so disappointed :( 13. Robyn - Dancing On My Own (7) (CR-7-4-8-11-13-9-6-14-7-13) 18. Roll Deep - Green Light (NEW) (CR-18) - Like it on first listen, when the girl sings the chorus it reminds of dance songs of the 90s for some reason  21. Rasmus Seebach - Natteravn (NEW) (CR-21) Really like this 25. B.o.B feat Hayley Williams - Airplanes (30) (CR-42-24-22-40-OUT-41-36-30-25) 27. Stromae - Te Quiero (34) (CR-34-27) 32. The Wanted - All Time Low (NEW) (CR-32) Quite like this 33. Flo Rida - Club Can’t Handle Me (22) (CR-43-22-33) Loving this, i can see it going to #1 in the UK 34. Salem Al Fakir - All Day Love (NEW) (CR-34) 37. Eminem feat Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie (Re-entry) (CR-32-OUT-37) 42. Jason DeRülo - What If (Re-entry) (CR-43-OUT-42)

Missing You // August 9th
Really like this, really think it could be big with promo and airplay, possibly #1 but I reckon #2/#3 is more likely at the moment. As for competition, Airplanes will have peaked by then (its now top 10 on itunes already). Ne-yo and Stromae are its biggest competition right now, but the latter depends on radio 1 playlisting and if it can live up to the hype, Ne-yo will go top 5 too.
-
iTunes Thread: June 2010 (V)
I don't think I've EVER had an argument on here  I just meant I hadn't seen a release date anywhere thats all, 9th August is gonna be a mad week with BOB (though it will likely have peaked), Ne-yo, Saturdays, Stromae (if it lives up to hype) then if Alex releases that week :o
-
iTunes Thread: June 2010 (V)
Why makes you say that? Alex doesnt have an official date yet does it? I doubt it will be released until the latter half of August as it hasnt been sent to radio yet has it? Plus it may not reach #1 anyway.
-
Stromae - Alors On Danse
Yeah I see what you mean plus it may mean a fake version will do well instead. Anyway I still think the label will take the album off in the next week or two, I'm hoping it'll chart at least top 5!
-
Stromae - Alors On Danse
Now #393 on itunes and still climbing! I think over the coming weeks it may be taken off to help build demand.
-
iTunes Chart // June IV
It wouldnt surprise me if they bring it forward to be honest, otherwise it runs the risk of the fake version going top 10 in the coming weeks. I still think it could challenge for #1 during July actually.

Future #1 contenders
True, but IMO the vast majority of the public aren't interested in looking at foreign music or care what's #1 in Germany or France. In the UK unless something is in your face via TV or radio it very rarely sells. Having said that, there must be some interest in it as it wouldn't be climbing itunes. Just think what it could do if TV/radio pick it up. Like you say though, its a shame so many foreign songs go unreleased here, some would be MASSIVE with promo, I just think of so many missed opportunities :(
-
Future #1 contenders
I think Yolanda could go top 3 myself but if its against Travie McCoy then my gut feeling is Travie would win. I agree it would be great to have two foreign language tracks in the top 10 at the same time. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it gets Radio 1 support (i think it could get TV support like on the box), I'd be very disappointed if it doesnt even go top 10 (its now 606 on itunes so good sign but I should think the label will take off the album nearer the time.

Future #1 contenders
A few months ago I did one of these #1 prediction threads and it was quite popular so I thought I'd do another one for the summer. Quite a few contenders are beginning to appear so what you think (realistically) will be #1 during summer? 21st June Katy Perry feat Snoop Dogg - California Gurls There is no doubt this will be #1, in fact i think it will be one of the biggest hits of the year! :cheer: K'naan - Wavin' Flag The physical is out on Monday, could it climb over the coming weeks? I think it will peak at #2 myself  Scissor Sisters – Fire With FireI was very exciting about their comeback but this track hasnt really had the hype their previous stuff has had. I think #1 is out of the question but may be they will still get another #1 album? 28th June Enrique Iglesias feat Pitbull - I Like It I think this could be a surprise hit (considering radio 1 arent playing it), it could hang around over the summer I reckon Kylie Minogue – All The Lovers Maybe this could climb with the physical release? I think #3/#4 will be its peak though 5th Jul JLS - The Club Is Alive Having already performed on Britain's Got Talent, I think this could have pretty big first week sales but drop off quite quickly. 12th Jul Basshunter – Saturday I think this could be a contender though may be only top 5? Radio 1 seem to be supporting it. Diana Vickers – The Boy Who Murdered Love Another #1 for Diana? I think it could struggle to be honest :( Professor Green feat Lily Allen – Just Be Good To Green I think this could do quite well, it'll go top 5 I'd imagine at least. 26th Jul Travie McCoy feat Bruno Mars - Billionaire One word - HUGE. I think this could be a big #1, especially as there are fake versions climbing already on itunes. Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup - We No Speak Americano Another big #1 contender, already doing well in Europe and Australia, annoying the UK edit is only 2mins 14secs though. Big summer dance track. 2nd Aug Tinchy Stryder- In My System Apparently Popjustice said this is out in early August, considering the success he had last year, a #1 return isn't out of the question. 9th Aug B.o.B. feat Hayley Williams – Airplanes I really hope this goes to #1 but I can see something above (or something on this week) stopping it and doing a Rude Boy. It will certainly be one of the hits of the year. Ne-Yo – Beautiful MonsterMaybe this? If not it should go top 10. The Saturdays – Missing You Now the clip of this track has just been released on youtube, sounds promising. Can they get their first UK #1? Its only a matter of time IMO and I can see their label trying to push this. Stromae - Alors On Danse Now here is a song I love, having already been #1 all over Europe, they are releasing the original French version. It could do anything at this stage, but the fact its climbing itunes already with no airplay is a good sign. If it gets Radio 1 support and tv play it'll go top 3/5 (at least) if not, it will flop. Foreign language can be hits here (See Ozone or even Yolanda above) but i guess it depends if it catches on. Coming Soon Taio Cruz - Dyamite Think this could go top #1 myself. Alexandra Burke - Start Without You Another #1 contender, think it has a good chance as its not on the album, its Summer and its her :P And finally... Mike Posner - Cooler than me Gonna be big, I reckon top 5 at least though it probably won't be out until the Autumn. Feel free to add any other contenders i may have missed.

iTunes Chart // June IV
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Katy will be #1 next week, in fact I'd bet it will be in the top 10 of the year. Fake versions of Billionnaire & We Speak No Americano beginning to climb, both are going to be massive.
-
Stromae - Alors On Danse
Has anyone noticed how Alors On Danse by Stromae is now #662 and continuing to climb, considering its not had any video/radio play is a good sign IMO, just hoping it gets the support. That article above is quite encouraging but I guess we will know in the next 3/4 weeks if its gonna get any support or not.

Germany 2010
It is a weird system in Germany, even more stranger that its based on revenue rather than sales. Anyway she climbs 7-1 in Switzerland too this week :cheer:
