iTunes Thread // March 2010 // Part I
I'm kinda surprised Tinie has stayed at #1. I still think Rihanna has a chance (if not this week then next week) as i can see Tinie decreasing faster than Rihanna but who knows. Telephone may make #1 in the coming weeks but cant see it making a big jump like 15-1 next week. There really isnt that much out over the next month that screams #1 is there?

Cascada - Pyromania [New Single]
Has the official release date been confirmed yet? Seems odd that it hasnt been announced yet. Hopefully it will be added to radio 1 playlist in the coming week or too

Cascada - Pyromania [New Single]
It's still growing on me still, i'd be amazed if radio 1 ignore it to be honest, its not like the next month is filled with massive hits. This track screams massive (not sure it'll go to #1 yet but i think it has a chance to go top 3 at least if it gets enough support)

Melodifestivalen 2010
Does anyone know if theres been a time in the last few years where the winner of the public vote also won the jury as well? As obviously some years they are complete opposites? Peter's track is just average IMO, why has there been so much fuss for him?

US Billboard Digital Chart - 02/27/2010
But it was only released on Friday/Saturday so these sales are based on only 2 full days!! Thats fantastic IMO. Its a shame it wasn't released on a Monday, would have done loads more and would have ended up with debut at Billboard at #1 IMO, now its destined to be a #2, cant see it climbing.

Melodifestivalen 2010
Oh I'm loving Kom, thanks for the link. Very catchy, I could see it doing very well at Eurovision (not 100% sure of a win yet though). I just hope Sweden sends it as there are so many songs they've should've sent (like Delta said, it was criminal Nanne didnt win in 2005, how it didnt win over Las Vegas ill never know - from memory didnt Nanne win the public vote but Vegas got more points from the jury?). Does anyone have a link to the Salem song? I wanna see what the fuss is all about? :P

New Release Schedule (Physical): Monday 22 February
Although Alicia could do it, i still wouldnt rule out Jason Derulo. I agree about Boyzone actually. Despite its lack of airplay, i do think it could still do though Gabriella doesnt stand a chance, it will be lucky to go top 10. Black eyed peas will do well but the album has sold so much i think a #1 would be a big ask. Inna is heading to low top 10 at this stage i think. Lady Gaga has the best chance in Mid March at this time. Who knows we may get a shocker?

New Release Schedule (Physical): Monday 22 February
There really isn't anything HUGE out over the coming month or so is there? Certainly nothing that screams #1 yet, could be an interesting month.

2010 Week of Death
Can't quite believe Sugababes are already top 10 on the Irish itunes, certainly looking quite good for them. I still think people should watch out for Jason Derulo, its shot to #1 on the Australian itunes this week and i really wouldnt surprise me if it goes top 3 here next week at least. The lead that Dizzee/Florence has is very impressive but i suspect the lead it be greatly reduced at the end of the weekend.

I wouldn't rule out Jason Derulo being a surprise contender for #1 next week. Although they are different markets, In My Head shot to #1 on Australian and NZ itunes and I can see it potentially going top 3 myself

Donkeyboy ∙ Ambitions ∙ 19-04-10
I really hope this becomes big, its really catchy, especially once it clicks with you. Maybe it will do well as it is different? Who knows but ill be disappointed if it doesnt go top 10 though.

Inna 'Hot' • 15·03·10
How is it too late? Its out on the 15th and its only just been released to TV channels? I think the kiss of death will be if radio 1 don't playlist it.
-
iTunes Chart: February 2010
Just noticed that Inna (Hot) has been made album only already, the record company are being very quick and obviously want/think it can be a big hit. I was kinda surprised Radio1 havent officially playlisted it yet. I think it has the potential to go top 5 at least. Great for Timbaland, really loving at the mo so glad its doing well.

“We Are the World 25” Remake for Haiti Relief
Thinking about it, it will probably be out in the USA by the beginning of next week, i wonder if they will wait a week or two for release here otherwise it will clash with Cowell's charity single

“We Are the World 25” Remake for Haiti Relief
Wow so many great acts, it'll almost certainly be the bigger worldwide hit, prob a massive #1 in the USA? They have said they will release this asap so it'll be interesting when they release it here. It wouldnt surprise me if Everybody Hurts only gets a week at #1?

Scouting for Girls - Everybody Wants To Be On TV 22/03/2010
I'm really loving this now, i can seeing this doing very well and will certainly be their biggest charting hit I'd say but its too early to guess the position. Radio are gonna play this to death as well!

Inna 'Hot' • 15·03·10
I've never understood why they have to shorten songs either, especially for dance tracks. Saying that they have even done Owl City which was crazy. I do hope this does well but it really needs to be out in March, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot I think. I wonder if Radio 1 will playlist it? BTW is it definately out on the 22nd Feb, apart from the mention on that web link I can't find anything else to state that date? EDIT: Manic made a good point in the Schedule thread that as there was no date when that info was posted, how do we know the 22nd was the original date and it was put back to the 15th? On the AATW forum it does state 15th March still?

iTunes Chart: January 2010 (III)
What do you mean? Its currently #2 on the Irish itunes, close to overtaking Owl City (just look at the irish itunes thread)

Haiti relief single: Everbody Hurts
This was posted in the Sun today.... SUPERSTAR Mariah Carey last night joined the stellar line-up for The Sun's Haiti charity single - as our earthquake disaster appeal topped the £1million mark. Grammy award-winning singer Mariah, 39, agreed to take part in our cover version of REM's ballad Everybody Hurts in a project being masterminded by X Factor chief Simon Cowell. Disney star Miley Cyrus, 17, also signed up over the weekend as X Factor stars JLS and show judge Cheryl Cole kicked off recording in London. Cowell, 50, last night paid tribute to all the artists taking part, saying: "We're getting there. We have had an incredible amount of support. "It's amazing these great singers are clearing their schedules to make this happen. I just found out Mariah has changed her schedule to be able to do this too. "It says such a lot that everyone is working so hard to help Haiti. "This is something that really matters to us all and I'm so grateful for the support we are getting." A source close to Cowell added: "Mariah was brilliant, she wanted to help in any way she could. Her name gives the single another great boost. Susan Boyle"Simon is working so hard behind the scenes to get this together. He knows this needs to happen quickly to get the money through to Haiti." Cheryl, 26, said after recording her vocals: "It's heartbreaking to see what is happening in Haiti. Hopefully the money from Everybody Hurts will help the people of Haiti rebuild their lives." JLS member Oritse Williams, 23, who lost relatives in the quake, said: "This tragedy is very close to my heart. "We hope to raise as much money as possible. It's great to be working with such talented artists, all pulling together to make a difference through song." Leona Lewis, 24, added her vocals in Los Angeles last night as Cowell faced a race against time to get the single out. Take That and Rod Stewart, 65, are also due in the LA studio today, Alexandra Burke, 21, is set to record in London and Susan Boyle, 48, will add her contribution in Scotland. James Morrison, 25, Mika, 26, and James Blunt, 36, are also among the stars taking part, while others are still trying to make arrangements. Top producer Steve Robson is putting the track together using new technology that means the artists do not have to be in the studio together. PM Gordon Brown has agreed to waive VAT on the single, and all proceeds will be split between The Sun's Helping Haiti fund and the official Disasters Emergency Committee appeal. Donations by the Sugababes, ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and Aussie singer Holly Valance helped take The Sun's fund past £1 million. Geri called on Sun readers to do whatever they can, adding: "Every little bit we can do to help will make a difference and ease the suffering."

I'm really loving this now, I even think this could be a surprise top 10 or even top 5 hit! Of course anything can happen but i reckon Radio 1 and tv would support it, plus a fake version charting is always a good sign, anyone know when its out? Presumingly March time?
-
Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina - Stereo Love
I really love this now, its really grown on me. Its doing very well in Europe right now. Over here I'm not so sure, summer time would be the best time for it but it'll prob be out April/May time I should imagine. Radio 1 would probably get behind it so it could go top 5, who knows?

Out of curiousity where was it said that there would be an charity single for Haite? Did Simon mention it at the NTA?
