Interestingly all the pop bars are very slowly catching up to Iyaz so it may have peaked (at least for now), this time next week Iyaz certainly won't have that lead, I wonder if theres a small chance of Riverside catching up? Who knows. Fireflies is gonna be a monster, its now up to 36, the label are bound to add it in the next week or so, i'll be surprised if they don't to be honest.

Thanks for those Mids Dave, Riverside must have had a good head start early on in the week, I'm pretty certain Iyaz will catch up in the next day or too as once you've added up all the versions on itunes Iyaz now has a decent lead. Apparently Owl City is out on 1st Feb on downloads but I agree they will bring it forward by at least a week or two. I'm quite lucky as i brought it on UK itunes back in September before they took it off. I reckon it'll go to #1 whenever its out though.

Riverside is now 2,15,86,126 & 269 on itunes plus it has the physical advantage so its obviously going to be very close. IF the dirty mix makes it to the top 10 on itunes i think it will then shoot up past the radio edit.

True but if you add all the versions together Iyaz is definately now in the lead. Plus I think Iyaz is now #5 on amazon while Sidney is #17 and #25 there.

It'd be great if BEP finally got a #1 album! Great to see Sidney at the top but it will be shortlived as I bet its very close right now (Riverside had the head start on itunes). Physical may make the difference but I still think Iyaz will make it by the end of the week.

Iyaz will likely get the #1 on Sunday now but I just can't see it being #1 for 4 weeks (though admittedly there isn't much out at all). Some people think Sidney may end up climbing to #1 but I very much doubt it for some reason, I reckon this week is its only chance. The only way Sidney will def get that #1 now is if they release the original mix. Owl City will definately get there (as everyone predicts) I've listened to that mix by Ellie Goulding and it doesnt scream #1 at all but who knows as she is bound to top that BBC sound of 2010. If Christina Aguilera's material is any good she will def reach the top I think Timbaland/Katy Perry and Lady Gaga/Beyonce will be big but not sure they will have the power to reach the top. JLS will simply not reach #1 as the album has sold so much.

It wouldn't surprise me if Riverside was #1 on the mids tomorrow simply because it got a head start on itunes plus it has the physical advantage (don't all preorders get added to the first day sales?). It will be interesting if the dirty version continues to climb or if it shalls as its going up while the #2 bar is going down. By the end of the week it actually wouldnt surprise me if the dirty mix enters the top 10. I think Iyaz will make it though (maybe it will be determined by physicals for once, Riverside will probably do 2-3k maybe?

Looking at the pop bars I'd say Iyaz are gaining on Sidney although there are multiple versions of Sidney plus it has a physical release. I think it could be quite close and I can actually see Iyaz climbing to #1 in the next week or so.

I've just noticed that the Replay EP is #4 on the album chart :o Its a bit weird that all the other versions of Riverside aren't charting yet though.

If they don't make it available it'll be a silly decision though it'll get to #1 regardless. Also Iyaz enters at #271 on my feed

Of course they could add another EP tomorrow but it'd still be crazy if they don't as like you, I wanted the original too. Interestingly the version on itunes is the clean version NOT the dirty mix so they are kicking themselves in the foot with that as well!

Agreed, the record company would be CRAZY not to include the dance instrumental on itunes but I've had a look at the preorder on itunes and it doesnt appear to be on there :( I still think it'll go to #1 though I can see Iyaz climbing later on, who knows maybe even Flo may have a chance in a few weeks? Not many songs scream huge hits on the schedule throughout January.

I still don't get how this is so big (Maniac i mean). It must have been everywhere in 2000 and no doubt is still a club classic there!

Just noticed they are playing songs in a different order to what the irishcharts.ie states so that site must be out of date. Looks like Galway girl should have been in it (its the only other song i can think of). Sales must have been HUGE in 2000-2002, 8 songs appear from 2001 alone!!

Not a chance I'm afraid, the dance version was the 11th best seller of 2003 and we've already had Black Eyed peas which were the 2nd best seller of that year

In a way its a nice surprise that barely any of these songs were even in the top 100 in the UK, just shows how different the buying public are in Ireland

Yep he said Black Eyed Peas was the best seller of 2009 and was only song from 2009 in it (obviously they have missed off this past weeks chart otherwise The Climb would feature)

I'm in shock already, Poker face didnt make it? I guess it just shows that sales in Ireland have been low this past few years. I mean being beaten by Smack that? :lol: I cant believe some songs are so high already, journey and Bloodhound gang :blink:

Thanks Shaky, i did think they couldnt have advertised it very well since you usually post about the year end charts. I have just finished listening to it, thoroughly enjoyed it. The adverts were a bit annoying so at least i could skip them. I did think it was quite random they didnt play TI and how they played remixes of Kelly and Beyonce and played completely the wrong version of Jai Ho. I am thoroughly looking forward to the end of decade chart, especially since not many countries are doing it and the Irish chart is one of the favs. It will be interesting to see what songs make it....

The 'freeze' as such looks like it is affecting Wiley IMO. Didnt the same thing happen for Just Dance last year? I remember it took most of the week for it to really get going and many thinking it wasnt going to be as big as predicted. I think the next week both Riverside and Replay will be new entries in the top 2.
