  1. Is anyone having problems with itunes at the moment? I've pressed the itunes icon but doesnt seem to want to go to the homepage, its just blank. It'll probably work in a bit, just wondering if anyone else was having the same issue?
  2. I reckon it'll be Pixie with Sugababes falling to #2. Mika and Muse will be top 5 i should think. The following week Madonna will get it. Shakira and Basshunter will be top 5 contenders from week commencing 21st September too, lots of 1 weekers ahead I'd imagine. Then its the calm before the storm with Alexandra in mid October (if Robbie's comeback is any good i think he could give her a run for her money IMO, especially as her XFactor performance is AFTER the single is out).
  3. Really looking forward to hearing this. Also interesting to see she is going head to head with Robbie's comeback which is also out on the 12th. Ofcourse Alex will have the X factor hype (and performance) but if Robbie's song is a killer he could be the underdog.

Any idea when thats out? As I'm sure I read it was originally due out in August.

Thanks for the tip, i used the irish 7 digital to download 21 Demands a few years back and to my surprise it worked. Though I did try to buy Leona Run last year and I'm sure it didn't work. I may try again though at some point as its crazy we have to wait so long in the UK sometimes

Thanks for posting shaky. I wonder who will knock Black Eyed Peas off the top? They will clearly get a 6th week. I can see Shakira potentially doing it in September, considering how popular she is there (having 4 #1s already this decade) plus the video is now #1 on irish itunes! Going back to the release date argument, I think its more to do with the fact the Irish chart has never relied on first weeks sales to a large extent. Even back in the early part of the decade, many songs continued to climb to #1 unlike the UK. The record companies have nothing to lose really by doing it in Ireland, if a song is big enough itll reach #1 regardless (as seen by the fact only 3 songs have entered at the top this year - all Irish, which is the complete opposite to the UK) Also regarding #1 sales, I remember there was an article in 2007 which I'm sure said that Timbaland (The Way I Are) had sold 3,600 one week to reach the top. JayZ/Linkin Park apparently sold 2,000 copies to reach the top in 2005 I remember reading once too.
  7. Thanks for confirming. I'm sure the proper version of WLTO will be top 10 by the end of the day. I wonder if the reason it doesn't look like the fake version is falling very much is because the chart is a rolling chart so it will be including sales from yesterday still? I'd say WLTO is moving quite well considering it was released late in the evening and its got to #50 from sales through the late evening and night.

A tad surprised they are releasing it today, i would have thought they may have waited until Friday. I guess they saw the cover version now top 10 and were concerned it'd take sales away. Its only gonna make an impact tomorrow on itunes anyway (which is a day earlier than Pixie last week) and even if La Roux does now release on Sunday WLTO is gonna have a big lead come Sunday I should think plus the physical, just hope it doesnt cost them the #1.
  9. Perhaps but I suspect many will just download the newer version again. I'd be more worried that La Roux will be out to download next week and keep this at #2! On LaRoux is mentions the physical is out 22nd June but nothing about the download.

Despite the cover version of When Love Takes Over doing so well, it wouldn't surprise me if Bulletproof beats it if its out next week (it does say on Wikipedia the download AND physical are out 22nd June but Wikipedia is hardly reliable). Could be a very high selling top 2 though.

Is La Roux out next week for download? It doesn't seem to be confirmed anywhere? If so it could give David/Kelly a run for their money. If out on 22nd June with the physical then it could potentially end up #1 too I think.

Agreed, does anyone know when its out for download? I know the physical is out 22nd but if its the download is out 15th June then its gonna give David Guetta a run for their money I think.
  13. I LOVE this track, and the video is growing on me. I'd hope this goes to #1 BUT isn't La Roux (Bulletproof) out on 15th June to download? If so, it wouldnt surprise me if that gives her big competition.
  14. Untouched is now #1 on irish itunes :o
  15. Loving this, though I've loved it since I heard it back in 2007. Its now #3 in Ireland itunes, over a few bars from #1!
  16. Article why Fairytale was deleted.... Rybak success 'marred after label blunder' Alexander Rybak's chances of topping the charts around the world have been knocked after EMI Records temporarily removed 'Fairytale' from iTunes. The Norwegian star's Eurovision winning song was unavailable to download for hours today after an alleged dispute over ownership of the track. Fans attempting to purchase 'Fairytale' were told by iTunes that "the request could not be completed". The song subsequently dropped to number nine on the download chart in the UK, from a peak of number three yesterday. It was also temporarily removed from iTunes stores in a number of countries around the world. Since Rybak's record-breaking win at the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday, 'Fairytale' has seen download sales significantly increase across much of Europe, Australasia and the USA. According to latest midweek sales in Britain, the song is expected to chart at number four on Sunday. This was just posted on Digital Spy!

Interestingly I have just looked at a few itunes overseas and its begun to get removed from the looks of things, at least its no longer available in Finland! **Edits** Now been deleted in Australia and New Zealand, looks like its being deleted one by one, how crazy!

I reckon Bonkers will have at least 3-4 weeks at #1. I think La Roux has a good chance to do it actually, its already had over 200,000 views on youtube. David Guetta is another contender but for some reason I can see it perhaps falling short but we will see, its certainly getting radio 1 support so far. I think Jordin stands a great chance but I wouldn't rule out Cascada either. I know its not everyones cup of tea BUT its the type of song that I can see doing very well, especially as radio 1 are likely to support it and it'll get loads of video airplay. Alexander has also been removed from the Irish itunes, which is crazy considering it had a MASSIVE lead at #1, hopefully its an error and will be readded tomorrow.
  19. It was only added in America this afternoon (US time as confirmed by Daughtry himself), and it usually takes a few updates for new songs to appear (remember its only early evening there at the mo). It'll shoot up the itunes chart, though its nothing amazing, it'll do well i reckon.

Oww the same week as Bonkers! Its gonna be an exciting battle I should think, I'm not really sure which one will come out on top. Can't believe the cover of BBP is nearly top 40 :o

Nah it'll do fine. It will now have 3 weeks to build up demand and I'm sure it'll go top 5/10 on itunes once its out at the very least to be honest. It wasn't even the proper radio edit anyway... Shame Veronicas are falling, wonder if they will taken off too to get a bit of demand for it? Tinchy has a massive lead now, its got another week or two at #1 I should think. Boom Boom Pow is out 4th May for download apparently, which I reckon will most likely be the next #1 in a couple of weeks.

I see Star Pilots have now been deleted, in fact the album it was on has now gone!
  23. simonf posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
It will be though I still think Hard2Beat may make the track 'album only' in the next week or so. If they do, its bound to debut top 5 at least once out properly
  24. simonf posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
I'm actually surprised it Hard2Beat haven't made it 'album only' yet as its obviously going to affect it when its released on 18th May. I reckon it could be top 100 by the weekend. It'll be taken off at some point I'm sure though? They did it with Basshunter in November 07. Go The Veronicas, hopefully it'll be a big hit for them. I'm sure when I last looked it WASN'T on itunes though but that was January/February time. All they had was their first album.

Yep, it is gonna be HUGE, Radio 1 and capital fm are already all over it (the cheesey video will be on tv within the next week too). I'd bet that the track will become album only in a week or too, Hard2beat and MOS have done that before (Basshunter was originally available via MOS compilation in November and got swiftly removed. Many may disagree with me but i'd bet its gonna go top 3 at least!
