Billboard Digital Singles Top 50
Its official, Owl City is #1 :cheer: :cheer: 7 1 OWL CITY FIREFLIES

Billboard Digital Singles Top 50
Does that mean Owl City could still be #1? I find the whole Billboard system confusing!

Billboard Digital Singles Top 50
I'd love Owl City to reach #1, unfortunately someone has done the figures at Pulse and Jason apparently edged it :( Next week is gonna be very interesting. Obviously Taylor is gonna have multiple entries in the Hot 100 but none have the lead or airplay to reach #1 overall, nor will Gaga. I guess it will be between Fireflies and Whatcha say again, probably Jason will do it as i dont think Owl City will have that big a lead again in sales. The following week Rihanna will have a massive to #1 IMO.

iTunes Chart // October II
Ahh so it is true :( How disappointing, Rihanna and Gaga have no chance over the coming weeks then :( Does anyone else think Kesha stands a chance of a #1 in early December?

iTunes Chart // October II
I'm still quite surprised they didn't repress it to be honest, seems to be the done deal with new releases nowadays. I'm sure the issue with Gaga will be sorted in the coming day or two. If it hadn't been for the link in here I certainly wouldnt have been able to find it. I reckon Cheryl will easily get a second week at the top, then it'll be JLS and Leona. Apparently the final 12 are releasing a cover of MJ's You Are Not Alone on November 16th so that will be another X Factor related #1 (I read that on another forum so i dunno how true that is)

iTunes US Top 300 [OCT 2009]
Its already beginning to climb the itunes chart in Australia, can see it doing well there and in Europe next year. I brought it a few weeks back on UK itunes and its since been taken off which is a good indicator that its been picked up by a UK label (similar thing happened with Release Me, Get Shaky etc). I can see it going top 3 depending on competition.

iTunes US Top 300 [OCT 2009]
Totally agree, it should hopefully be #1 on the digital chart next week, unfortunately due to airplay lagging a bit it wont be #1 :( Its also now #1 on Canada's itunes. I do hope this gets a release in the UK, if they time it right I can see this being huge in the new year

iTunes Chart // October I
Chipmunk now up to #28 The Sats up to #71!! Goodness, looks like we could have a new top 2 next week. Chipmunk potentially may have quite high sales next week, it may even reach #1 on itunes by the end of the day at this rate :o **Edit - you beat me to it** :P

The **Irish** Chart Thread 2009
I'm still amazed at the success of Maniac 2000, 10 weeks at #1, best seller of 2000 and the 4th best seller ever :o Does anyone know or remember why it was so successful? Its never seemed to be the type of song that would be very radio friendly or that would have wide spread appeal (though obviously it must have), must have sounded good in a club though. BTW I Gotta Feeling is back at #1 on itunes so I reckon its got another week or two at #1 (maybe 12 weeks?). I reckon it will get knocked off by Alexandra or Robbie now. Amazing success really.

Predict the next few months
Alot of people are beginning to predict MJ beating Alex/Robbie. I know MJ's newie will have alot of hype and it WILL have big sales (especially if the songs good) but with the airplay/video play Alex is getting surely it will reach #1? JLS sold over 100k and I can see this easily beating it, especially with a performance the night before? Then again may be she will do a Leon but I'm not convinced. Its awfully competitive from October though so anything could happen.

iTunes Thread // September III
Its partly album hype but he's in the UK this week promoting and was on Jonathan Ross last night, and gave a great performance of the track!
-
Predict: Young Soul Rebels - I Got Soul
You saying then that Robbie will beat Alex the week before? Surely with the performance on X Factor it will be #1 for a few weeks. This will def go top 5 though, perhaps top 3. I think it will depend how big the sales are for Alex/Robbie the previous week.

iTunes Chart // September II
While Taio was #38 on my feed, Madonna was around 555 :o Its probably more an issues with itunes than anything, it hasn't been updating properly for days.

iTunes Chart // September II
This may have been mentioned already earlier but to the person who thinks the pop bars are gone, they HAVE been updated and Shakira is now very close to being #1 so its likely just to be an itunes problem
-
iTunes Chart // September II
Yeah the pop bars are all over the place at the moment, several countries seem to having this issue today. Great to see Shakira doing so well. I dont think its Madonna that Shakira should be worrying about next week, its Taio Cruz, its now #1 on Ireland itunes (according to pop bars), i think next week isn't a dead cert at all.

iTunes Chart // September II
Actually Basshunter is out the same week as Shakira on 21st (according to his website/HMV site). I think he will give Shakira a run for her money!

Thanks for replying, thought it was just me. Hopefully it will sort itself out but i dont get why, it was working fine on Thursday night and just seems weird it wont go to the homepage (yet the search function works fine). Take it no-one has any ideas? I agree with you, technology can be a pain sometimes!

iTunes Chart // September II
Sorry to continue to mention this (like the other thread but no-one answered me), I take it no-ones having any itune problems then? I've seen people mentioned that they are seeing the pop bars so may be its just me :( I originally thought it was the whole itunes but the search function at the top right is working fine, its just when i press the home icon nothing happens (like its a dead link and won't load up). Anyone having this prob or know how to sort it? Its beginning to annoy me now.

iTunes Chart // August III - September I
Is anyone having problems with itunes at the moment? I've pressed the itunes icon but doesnt seem to want to go to the homepage, its just blank. It'll probably work in a bit, just wondering if anyone else was having the same issue?

iTunes Chart // August III - September I
I reckon it'll be Pixie with Sugababes falling to #2. Mika and Muse will be top 5 i should think. The following week Madonna will get it. Shakira and Basshunter will be top 5 contenders from week commencing 21st September too, lots of 1 weekers ahead I'd imagine. Then its the calm before the storm with Alexandra in mid October (if Robbie's comeback is any good i think he could give her a run for her money IMO, especially as her XFactor performance is AFTER the single is out).
-
Alexandra Burke ∙ 'Bad Boys'
Really looking forward to hearing this. Also interesting to see she is going head to head with Robbie's comeback which is also out on the 12th. Ofcourse Alex will have the X factor hype (and performance) but if Robbie's song is a killer he could be the underdog.

Any idea when thats out? As I'm sure I read it was originally due out in August.

The **Irish** Chart Thread 2009
Thanks for the tip, i used the irish 7 digital to download 21 Demands a few years back and to my surprise it worked. Though I did try to buy Leona Run last year and I'm sure it didn't work. I may try again though at some point as its crazy we have to wait so long in the UK sometimes

The **Irish** Chart Thread 2009
Thanks for posting shaky. I wonder who will knock Black Eyed Peas off the top? They will clearly get a 6th week. I can see Shakira potentially doing it in September, considering how popular she is there (having 4 #1s already this decade) plus the video is now #1 on irish itunes! Going back to the release date argument, I think its more to do with the fact the Irish chart has never relied on first weeks sales to a large extent. Even back in the early part of the decade, many songs continued to climb to #1 unlike the UK. The record companies have nothing to lose really by doing it in Ireland, if a song is big enough itll reach #1 regardless (as seen by the fact only 3 songs have entered at the top this year - all Irish, which is the complete opposite to the UK) Also regarding #1 sales, I remember there was an article in 2007 which I'm sure said that Timbaland (The Way I Are) had sold 3,600 one week to reach the top. JayZ/Linkin Park apparently sold 2,000 copies to reach the top in 2005 I remember reading once too.
