iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd June 2017
There have been pictures of Avicii in the studio so he is definitely coming back. Apparently he has described it as his best work. I am still surprised he never released his collab with Sia last year, I am positive if he releases that he will have a big hit with it (though I've only heard a poor quality version). He is bound to work with big stars I would imagine.

OCC chart rule changes - artist cap and ACR
Yeah I am not sure I like the idea of a cap at 10 weeks. I think I'd feel happier about the rule if it didn't effect the top 10/20, so the cap only comes into effect after a song has left the top 10. I don't like the thought of a song's run cut shortly at #1 or top 10 because of the new rule.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 16th June 2017
It already has a Massive lead at #1, it will get even bigger after 7:30 as the video premieres during Corrie! I can see it being #1 on Friday to be honest.

Ofenbach - Be Mine
I wonder if this could take off during the Summer? It feels it could be this year's This Girl (Kungs)? Its starting to take off in Europe, especially in Italy and Switzerland having already been big in France.

They haven't missed too much off thinking about it. The ones on the top of my head Ed - Shape of You Chainsmokers/Coldplay Zayn/Taylor Clean Bandit/Zara (this is probably too recent though)

melodifestivalen 2017 / andra chansen · linköping (04 mar)
On the SVT website poll Jon Henrik is winning with 19%, Wiktoria with 15% and Nano with 14%. I would imagine it will come down the Juries. its quite wide open but I am definitely rooting for Wiktoria. itd definitely be a top 5 contender at Eurovision.

Stream ratio to change from 100:1 to 150:1
I think streaming will get faster in the future, we are just going through an adjustment period at the moment. I usually look at the Swedish chart who first introduced it back in 2010. Their chart is still slow but it seems to have got faster the past year or two and they seem to discover new hits a bit quicker. Also, their #1 turnover has increased too, from about 11 to between 15-20 which is where I think the UK will eventually settle on.

Apparently taylors label have confirmed that the single won't go on Spotify or any other free streaming service. Shame if that's true

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 9th December 2016
It'd be a big shame if they don't release it to Spotify. It could be a week exclusive with Apple (a bit like Drake was) but as Taylor doesn't have her songs on Spotify its probably unlikely..

Dance Chart Number Ones 2000 - 2009
I always found the early Noughties quite interesting because there were quite a few European dance smashes that were never released over here. I'd imagine Daddy DJ and La Passion would have been massive hits (possibly even #1s) had they been promoted here. I always found it odd how they missed out.

New Zealand Chart Thread - 26/12/2016
It looks like the Album chart is now including Streams judging from all the climbs? Interestingly, Send My Love by Adele is the digital #1 (according to Billboard).

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 17th June 2016
I think it will get another shot, its now beginning to do big things in Europe and is even shooting up in Australia (now at #13 on their iTunes). The only thing holding it back is there is no official video for it.

The NOW Music Thread 2.0
That seems like a good guess but I suspect there will be a few upcoming singles throughout June that will make it too. Also, I wonder if they will even be able to get Drake? They didn't get Hotline Bling did they? If not, it'll open with Justin or Calvin I'd imagine.

Eurovision Song Contest 2016 · Grand Final
I was in Stockholm for the whole thing, firstly Semi final 2 and then the Jury final on Friday. We had an amazing experience though i'd much rather have Australia win. However, I can see them winning soon enough, I don't think they will be giving up anytime soon. In regards to the voting, I echo everything that's been said really. I'd imagine they will keep the system for another next year and see how it goes. If it begins coming obvious that there are diaspora issues and some countries are getting bigger advantages etc then I can see them having a potential rethink as I can imagine that some countries will begin to complain and getting annoyed. Having said all that, it ultimately does come down to the song because the top 10 does have different countries in it to last year.

Eurovision Song Contest 2016 · Green Room
I'll be at the Semi Final 2 and the Jury final on Friday. In regards to the latter, I wonder if JT will perform on Friday too? I can imagine he will just perform at the final though.

2016 Tips
Another couple: Kungs & Cookin' on 3 Burners - This Girl. Its currently #1 French iTunes but can definitely see this crossing over In Europe during the Summer. Peg Parnevik - Ain't No Saint. Currently #1 on Swedish Spotify, may well just stay a local hit but it certainly has the potential crossover to become a big hit

Kungs Vs Cookin' On 3 Burners - This Girl
This song is currently #1 on France iTunes. I can definitely see this song catching on everywhere and I'd argue an early contender for the big Summer Anthem. I can definitely see this song being huge in various Countries anyway. The video isn't great but they performed this live on French TV the other day and its very catchy. 2Y6Nne8RvaA

Melodifestivalen 2016 / Heat 4 · Gävle (27 Feb)
To be fair all the finalists (bar AC entrants) have only had 5 and a bit days on Spotify. Its currently #3 on Spotify so will climb a lot next week. If Robin had had the full week it would have likely debuted in the top 5.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 19th February 2016
I can see Rihanna being #1 on the Streaming chart next week but I really don't think she will get close to becoming the sales #1. I can see how spending a couple of weeks at #2
