I think both of them could be postponed again to be honest. I can definitely see AronChupa being big once it catches on. In regards to Sheppard, I still think it will be big but only after its done well in America. I can definitely see them postponing again. I actually can't believe how dead the schedule is for this year!

This isn't getting supported at all by radio so it wouldn't surprise me if it got pushed back again. With support, this could easily go to #1 IMO.

Firstly many thanks for posting and updating your #1s thread the other week, always an interesting read :yahoo: Also whilst I didn't post in it, I thoroughly enjoyed your 2014 chart. Great to see Sheppard doing well, I can honestly see Geronimo being a bit of a monster when it comes out here (especially considering how well it did in Europe). Just a case of waiting for Capitol or Radio 1 to give it support (surely they can tell it will be a hit??), may have to wait for it to become a hit in the US first though. Loving your chart this week too, great to see Uptown Funk at #1, for some reason I am surprised its at #1 for you but it is very catchy. Blank Space being a bit of a late bloomer for you? Really like the new Madonna stuff so far so nice to see her having two top 10s for you. In regards to Aronchupa its awful but it has a certain charm about it and I'd imagine it will catch on at some point (its already smashed in Europe & Australia). I can Omi being a European/UK smash too.

Quite like the Philip George song. I sadly rather like the winners single by Ben, how have the other winners done for you? I've enjoyed following your chart again this year, you've had some great #1 singles (and albums).. Sheppard, Mark Ronson, Veronicas, Clean Bandit, Helene etc. Any chance you can update your #1s thread when you get a moment?

Sheppard Geronimo has been pushed back until 8th February according to iTunes. They are obviously hoping it will be big at some point aren't they? I think it will be a hit at some point.

I was surprised they had that release date for Albatraoz in the first place, judging from its success in Europe and now Australia (where it is top 3 on itunes) I can see it being a #1 contender to be honest (or at least top 3). It'll be interesting to see what they do with Uptown Funk, the label would be silly to leave it until the 11th, they need to bring it forward AT LEAST a week or two, though it'll be #1 regardless.

With this being released in january now, it will be up against mark ronson/bruno Mars second week so I can see it getting stuck at #2 imo

I'm glad they've postponed it too but I just hope Radio 1 will support it. I truly believe with the right support it could go to #1 (long running top 5 hit minimum). Its been big in Europe so I have got everything crossed for it. I am looking forward to hearing their album too.

it's odd considering its success in Europe too. however its shooting up itunes in the USA (#77 at the moment) so I can potentially see it getting postponed again and for it to come out in the new year.

you can pre-order this on itunes now and it mentions adele is involved. she could have done her part separately.

The Avener & Mark Ronson sound like almost certain #1s to me. I think Meghan Trainor is going to get another big hit with Lips are Movin, don't think it will quite go to #1 but i'd say its a certain top 3/5. I do Sheppard catches on, considering its success in Europe I am surprised it hasn't had any push yet but there's still hope. I am beginning to wonder if it won't smash until it becomes a hit in America or something (ala Nico & Vinz/Icona Pop etc) How about Kwabs - Walk? It is available on itunes already but its already beginning to become big in Europe (i.e. Germany). It wouldn't surprise me if its taken off itunes and repromoted in the new year. Aronchupa is surely going to be released in the new year though, i'd say that would go top 5 at least.

I am still half expecting the label to postpone the release until January. I now taking off in Europe and picking up steam in the states so would make sense (exactly what happened with Am I Wrong)

I always found it weird how it never took off. I always think la passion could have been massive here if promoted (dare I say #1 too). I think thats a case with alot of big European hits at the time. I am still surprised that daddy dj never done anything over here too.

Its weird because the year actually started with some longer runners like Rather Be/Happy. Its crazy how many one weekers we are having.

Canada's record is Elton John with Candle in the Wind 1997, it stayed at #1 for 46 weeks (non-consec). It had a run of 35 weeks, 7 weeks, 3 weeks and then appeared (randomly) at #1 again in 2002! I think it was top 3 for 2 years too.
