Rita Ora - Heat
This is her best in a while, but if she is going to keep releasing music, it would be nice to see her carve something of an identity. But she’s probably past the point of ever getting a hit again on her own so I guess… who cares? Let’s just bop to a bop. This is definitely a reject from Troye’s last album too, I assume?

Okay, a promising hold after yesterday! Still not a guarantee for how it’ll end up on Friday but I’d say it swings things back into Sabrina’s favour which is promising at least.

BJSC175 - Final Landings (Results)
Not the best result but I do tend to be a fairly good judge these days of knowing when it’s going to happen and I definitely felt a lack of hype here. So I knew to take the last minute top 5 predictions with a pinch of salt. I guess in a world where Annalisa/Debbii/Rebecca have won, it’s good to prove that sending an artist with past success isn’t actually a guaranteed route to an easy top 10 or anything. I think I just must be a bit “off centre” with CATTY, as I think Joyride sounded much more polished and better produced than her last 2 entries. But it is a bit more jarring, and all over the place as a song so I can get why that would miss. Happy for Phil to get another win under his belt, and another song I voted for winning is always nice too! Loved your hosting Addy, considering it was billed as “just a recycled idea”, you really brought a lot of fresh life into it and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jeez, just reading this whole thread, it’s not a DISASTER. You guys are so bloody dramatic sometimes, the types to say your fingers falling off when you get a paper cut.

Oops! Maybe the #2 position it fell to disguised that. I guess the next few days really will be telling then, as to whether it can stabilise or stay close enough to Alex.

Yeah, that’s not a big fall at all. Certainly not on The Giver levels. Think it might be a close one but staying at #2 the day after AND with a music video performing well, it could make the difference.

BJSC175 - Predictions and Odds
Nice to see a few predictions with Hendinia in them, it’s been a quiet month for mentions after last month 😂 Thinking it’ll be another top 20 at max month though, not that that’s bad in any way. If I was to stick my neck out on a winner, the one I got that vibe from the most was Kathaldazia.

Sabrina Carpenter - Manchild
I really like this but I can’t disagree that it does feel like a retread of the Short N Sweet sound rather than developing anything new. And it’s the production that lets it down, which furthers my feelings of “get a job stay away from her” @ Jack Antonoff. The production at the beginning is almost identical to Good Luck Babe actually. Not sure how much longer she’ll be able to get away with delivering a similar sound so I’d like to think her and her label are smart enough to mix up the formula for her next album and this isn’t actually a taster of what’s to come. But yes, another bop, more great lyricism from Sabrina which really captures her personality and I’m sure I’ll get plenty of play out of it. A long running #1? I doubt it but probably another decent run in the top 10. Wouldn’t surprise me if, after the curiosity streams, it only keeps Ordinary off for a week.

I think Sapphire is dreadful, and actually quite like enjoyed Azizam in the end. But maybe I’m way off with how the GP will feel cos I don’t care for Ed at the best of times.

Lithuania on Eurovision : 25 years
Luktelk is FAR and away my favourite Lithuanian entry ever, I'd love to know what makes it a 0/10! All opinions are subjective though, I do realise.

I know it IS older, I just mean that he's promoted and performed it more regularly and recently so I can understand the reasoning behind its revival and multiple waves of success. But a song like Sailor Song, by an artist who doesn't have a big profile, I don't hear particularly regularly on radio or anything and its days of being a TikTok trend have largely passed, still getting 200k streams a day 8 months after hitting #1 seems more surprising to me. It's not like every big song of the past 12 months is STILL top 20. APT is #34, Die With A Smile #23, Taste #28, so I guess I'm surprised Sailor Song of all songs is sticking around so high that it keeps bobbing in and out of the top 10.

I realise it stands out more because it's on SCR racking up weeks in the top 10, but I do still hear Beautiful Things quite a bit and he's promoted it a bit. It gags me more to see Birds Of A Feather still at #7 and Sailor Song still at #14. Those songs feel like they had their moment in the sun AGES ago, to still be getting 250k/200k streams a day.

Sabrina Carpenter - Manchild
Haha, I do realise this and he's worked with Sabrina plenty! I can just never get excited about seeing him attached to anything - especially not Taylor anymore, I'm dying for her to work with someone new for whatever the next project is.

Sabrina Carpenter - Manchild
Excited for this BUT GET A JOB STAY AWAY FROM HER @ Jack Antonoff (yes, I'm aware he was behind PPP but still, his name always fills me with dread of boredom).

There does seem to be a demand, not just on this site, for a SONG OF THE SUMMER. Which hasn't really been delivered by anyone so far. So, I think that sets Sabrina up better than a deluxe track would do. I don't think it's a given that she debuts at #1 though purely because people haven't had the time to miss her / anticipate a new release, especially given she only started hyping it yesterday for a release in a few days.

JADE • Festivals 2025
When she giggled after, she was like “oh my god, I nearly just sang-“ and then started giggling. Icon, self aware queen from the JK f*** you shout, to the “whenever you’re ready” quote x

JADE • Festivals 2025
She was definitely the best artist of the night and the crowd was HUGE! She just gets it. Also, seeing Jonjo saying “she got distracted during Woman Like Me”, wasn’t it because she almost accidentally sang “I was born without a dick in my mouth”, we were howling because she started giggling after nearly singing it 😂
