whys everyone sayin poor jordin? the album has outpeaked her debut, the single has done very well despite its peak of 11 (coz sales are scattered over a million weeks) and the second single will increase sales. a performance on x factor wud be good

Its wierd how its just growing now, I defo think its a grower and could do another 'just dance' takin months to peak. Maybe not #1 but it could go top 10 on the hot 100 coz radio airplay and sales are growing.

ouch especially after it being 8 in midweeks anyway...second single could pull it up also, if sony had shipped enough copies it prob wud have gone top 10, they have been pretty lame coz it sold out in alot of places

:P basically the way this works is that the artists own label finances all the recording/promotion, and makes all the decisions and pays for all that, etc. The record label (ie: island) is paid by the artist to distribute the albums as they have all the resources to distribute an album. sometimes they can help in marketing also as they have links and contacts, but the artist makes the decisions as they are the ones with the doe to pay for stuff.

good to see her sales predictions are up, 60k+ is possible. They should have booked her in for Oprah or some big show in the states for early next week... Anyway in the UK, the album will most likley be top 10 (if sony get more copies into stores :blink: ) and the single will probably be #11 again... just think, this single has been up and down, if it had of been released first off about 3 weeks ago, it probably would have been top 5 with all sales combined, dunno wot Sony were thinkin.

probably. dunno about the U.S tho, i mean 50k first week sales? wtf!? they need to release second single to radio quick and get the video going and with the right single releases (sos>watch u go>911) it'll prob go gold by halloween and maybe platinum by years end if they release a single around november for christmas sales... who knows, anything could happen. edit: is it stoopid of me to think battlefield (single) will do a 'just dance' in the states and be a very slow grower and eventually get #1 like everyone said?? - stupid?

i was at tescos n i checked out the cd section and they sold out of her album... damn Sony have really been $h!t, they must have shipped like 5k copies...

I dont think the UK branch of Sony expected it to sell as well as it is so they probably didnt ship many copies out, maybe 10k. I guess more will be going out as we speak...plus if people wanna buy the album, they'll buy it, they wont jst coz they see it on the shelf.

i doubt they'd drop her. it'll prob grow with the single releases and more performances. she needs a performance on the VMA's in September. PLUS they are predicting these sales from not even 2 full days of sales.

probably not due to that demi girl and jacko and daughtry remaining threats. Id say top 4. and those sales ^ look pretty miserable

and if MJ didnt have a crapload of albums in the top 10 Sony should put some more TV ad's out this week, especially on Friday for weekend shoppers

yeh plus Sparks has the deluxe in the itunes top 10, so sales from that are also added

^yeh only thing of a threat in the states is that demi girl...alot of kids will buy that for those interested: BATTLEFIELD UK TV AD - EDIT: just checked, cant believe that 'demi girl' is #1!! wtf???

can anyone predict what you think the album will hit in the uk AND u.s?

i would have put it in place of Dont let it go to your head, means she would have had all originals on the album and it aint that great anyway...cud have just been a bonus track itself.

good considering all the jacko albums in the top 10, should go top 10 by the end of the week and hopefully sony send out more tv ads for primetime times this week

whats up with vertigo not being on the album??? It'll definitley be given to someone else, if she was going to use it on a re-release, they wouldnt have released it now and its too good to waste on a bonus track...

yea ive seen the tv ad once, it was towards the end and they were showing the video for One Step at a time...i was like wtf :blink: that era is over, the album is very different to those songs, hell they might as well of stuck on a version of the chicken dance if they were going with that marketing 'method' anyway this would be my single release method: SOS - august/september No Parade - January Emergency 911 - May Watch U GO/The Cure (*double release) - September *uk - double a side u.s.a - 2 different radio format releases Dont like that Walkin on snow tune that everyone is ravin about, but it prob will be a single anyway....

Im starting to think they will give 'Vertigo' for someone else. Its only going to be given to a small amount of people, people who preordered on itunes, after tomorrow, no one can get it cuz they didnt 'preorder' and it sounds too much of a hit to go to waste. Prob hannah montanna will get it :wacko:

they played this on Radio 1 a couple hours ago and mentioned the album. BTW i dont see what everyone see's in Walking on Snow... its the worst on the album IMO...sorry

u guys think the album will go top 10 next week? I think it wil personally. Battlefield has had a big enough effect on radio and people and her debut sold solidly

even with what people are sayin on here, its gettin very good reviews from the media...(the album)

Wouldnt call it low budget, just rushed. They thought coz they had 'Battlefield' as the lead that it would sell no matter what.
