So just like Reggie Yates then? (more or less)
Quite sad that I was too young to ever experience the Mark Goodier era of the chart show, it was Reggie solo when I started listening.
Bruno Brookes was also brilliant at the Top 40 - he really brought a sense of excitement and occasion to the chart that just doesn't exist now sadly.
Here he is on his 1st chart back in charge in March 1992 when they extended the chart show to 3 hours for the first time: https://www.mixcloud.com/1869300/uk-top-40-...kes-15-03-1992/

*THIRD WEEK AT NUMBER ONE* - The Horrors “Something To Remember Me By”
Southend-On-Sea's The Horrors make it to a third week on top with “Something To Remember Me By” which holds pole position amongst some very strong competition in the Top 3. Despite a career that spans more than a decade and with five studio albums under their belt the group have only had two #1s on my chart - the other being 2011's “Still Life” which spent a fortnight at number 1 in July 2011. Six years later and they finally match their biggest hit but have in the intervening time chalked up a further 5 Top 20 hits - the most recent “Machine” peaked at #17 back in August.
Narrowly missing out on chart champion honours are Brisbane's Confidence Man - a collective from a variety of bands including The Belligerents, Moses Gunn Collective and the Jungle Giants - whose incredibly catchy “Boyfriend (Repeat)” dips slightly from 2-3 this week. It is overtaken by Canadian group TR/ST, the project of Toronto resident Robert Alfons. Last in the Top 10 back in 2014 with “Rescue, Mister” (#6), a new standalone single entitled “Bicep” (not related to the recent Belfast electronic dance duo of the same name) continues to ascend 4-2 and makes a strong challenge for the #1.
The remainder of the chart is becalmed with only one song posting a double-digit position increase and just 5 new entries. The biggest climber of the week comes from The xx, who follow-up recent #1 “I Dare You” (down 41-50) with “Dangerous” leaping 38-26. Highest debut is from St. Vincent who releases 2nd single “Los Ageless” from forthcoming 5th LP MASSEDUCTION out on Friday - it debuts at 40. Returning to the chart are Haim at 48 with “Little Of Your Love” and there are chart debuts for Ibeyi (with “I Wanna Be Like You” at 44), Yaeji (with “Drink I’m Sippin On” at 46) and CamelPhat & Elderbrook (with “Cola” at 49).

Which is why it's a particularly cataclysmic omen for the Tories that Labour was more popular with voters in their 30s and 40s at the last election. More and more of them don't have mortgages and are still renting. The crossover age where Tories start to be more popular than Labour was 47 in June.Yep. A bit worrying because in 2015 it was 34.
YouGov did not include a graphic for the below chart (which is 2015) but I'll predict the division is even more stark now with Labour gaining even more with those 'Privately Renting' (just checked, now 51% Lab and 32% Con). IIRC the ONS predicts that those privately renting will outnumber owner occupiers by the middle of the next decade...

The writing shows incredible foresight - they even managed to put out Episode 3 when this incident made the news!

I think we can all agree here on one thing: Cameron's referendum was a complete shit show used to try and control divisions within the Conservative party and tackle the surge of UKIP. That it spectacularly backfired is both hilarious but also terrifying. A complete failure of governance. There was no strategy, the team Number 10 were so arrogant and complacent in assuming a narrow victory that no contingency plan was made in the event of a 'Leave' majority being recorded.
Without doubt one of the biggest fails of governance of the 21st Century, and Cameron and the Conservatives will be remembered for it, for a long, long time.

The original statement was a prediction - therefore, it could not be a lie. The general point - a Leave vote will have severe short-term economic consequences - was true.
The general point does have some truth true of course, but I'm afraid the specific point (which was not a prediction, but a stated fact) was that of a threat of a 'punishment budget' after voting to leave - including the increase of income tax and significant spending cuts to public services. This was presented as such in order to scare people to voting for the status quo and economic stability and was never carried out. It was therefore a lie. Of course the Bank Of England cut interest rates and instigated further QE - they had to look like they were doing something and don't need much excuse to start pumping up debt and the housing market!
A fair amount of the short-term market volatility was caused by the slightly 'overhyped' prediction of doom that Osborne and others in HMG were making prior to the vote, so IMO they were no more virtuous than those in Vote Leave!
-
-
Avoided by allowing the Bank of England to throw billions of pounds at various measures to avoid economic collapse. In other words, the government let the BofE deal with the short term problems rather than introducing a tax-raising budget.
So what, the 'emergency budget' was threatened and it never happened. Therefore that WAS a lie, was it not?

Probably by quite a lot considering Post Malone is not likely to even be top 5 on sales.
(edit: wait I read this wrong :P but I do wonder if Post Malone might break the record for the lowest sales for a song at #1? Currently held by Drake in one of his later weeks IIRC?)
I think Ed Sheeran holds it 10,514 for his 14th non-consecutive week at #1.
-
“Too Good at Goodbyes” was the 3rd lowest selling sales #1 of all-time last week, I wonder if that record will fall again on Friday..
